Round 4 of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs here in North Carolina and we travel to union county to Weddington high school for a big time matchup with Greensboro Grimsley. In a highly anticipated rematch of last seasons 4A western regional final. The Warriors have waited a year for this game, will they get their revenge? Our NC game of the week this year is presented by Deer Park Water.

Great win for Weddington. Kids played great, and coaching was on point, too. Coaching decisions killed Grimsley, on the other hand. The game turned, imo, when they tried three successive passes - all incomplete - and went three and out, when their RB was basically unstoppable all game. As soon as they got away from their game plan, they imploded. Good luck to Weddington this Fri against Indy...

I’m not a fan of neither team, I watched the game and the game were good until the 2nd half. However, the refs are definitely making difference. I used to be a referee for high school. Weddington running game are strong because of many missed holding calls, a couple of obvious face masks, pass inferences. These missed critical calls hurt Grimsley very bad. I cringed watching the refs just standing there not calling what’s right. In my opinion this isn’t fair to either team. But still a good game. I love the energy from both sides.

Grimsley got manhandled in the trenches and their basic play calling on offense caught up with them once they couldn’t out talent a team.
