    Question: in 44:40, shouldn't dm = d - p/4?

It might be too late and you finished the course like 7 month ago. But i was asking myself the same question. For future viewers, the answer is no because you have dm= d - p/4 - p/4 = d - p/2 (don't forget that there are threads on both sides and theoretically the screw is symmetrical!)
