Congratulations, Jess!! I have attended a citizenship ceremony, and as a natural born citizen, it was one of the most impactful experiences. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to see a friend become an American, it was quite emotional. I think about it often.
Alot of work for the American citizenship, here in Belgium all you gotta do is bring like 4 papers basically proving you're contributing to the society in a way and what you done for the last 5 years, you write and sign you approve of their rules and stuff and you're good to go. I'm amazed you've had to go through all of that and proud, personally I feel like I would have given up at some point
The difference is the amount of people trying to become American citizens is in the millions compared to the thousands trying to become citizens of Belgium.

Ugh the immigration and citizenship process is just terrible. My friend and her parents have been living in the US for over 10 years. Her parents have worked and paid taxes and now they’re home owners and my friend works as a paramedic and only this year have they gotten some news about a potential date for their interviews. And I just find it ridiculous that for over 10 years they have been working members of the US and still have not had any type of citizenship progress made
I became a citizen last year and when I showed up to my oath ceremony there was a huge line wrapped around the building and it ended up being a 2 1/2 hour wait outside! The line was just as long when I left too. It was crazy
