Totally same here... We loved the game and the background story for the good first and second Darksiders. But this part made me so angry that I wanted to cry like a little boy and throw my controller out of the window.
The problem with this is it highlights the worst mechanic in the game to the maximum and really kills the games enjoyment. I've been at it for nearly an hour and the mechanics aren't consistent, such as with the dash drop stopping you at the edge of the pillars(which looks intended) but then throwing you off at random in ways that the game doesn't make use of, and sometimes you just don't break out of the fall animation altogether and slide off noticably. The platforming wasn't polished enough for shit like this and when you highlight the worst element it kills enjoyment overall, at least in my experience.
How on earth did you do this first try? I genuinely believe I’m gonna lose my mind. I need the leviathan core for platinum and cannot for the life of me reach the end. My head is gonna explode if I fall off these fucking rocks one more time.
In terms of getting the platinum trophy, you only need to complete the first pillar section to get one Leviathan core. Glad that's the case. Platforming in this game is so frustrating but that is somewhat to blame due to the isometric view.
I noticed something interesting during my attempt and completion of this earlier today (yea I know, this ones been out awhile but I only just got around to playing it). The second section of the third portion has a bit of cheese to it. With one level in movement via resocketing elsewhere, you can basically do each row in 2 jumps without counting whatsoever. The amount of movement plus a full glide from the outer safe platform lands you directly in the center which is safe on all 3 rows. Same full glide lands you on the outer safe platform on the other end. Very handy especially when having to redo the first row to make use of the shortcut if you fall in the last platforming puzzle.
I did the final final up-jumping section with War, and found it felt better that way with strife, i felt like i didn't skid over those miserable vanishing tiles, a suggestion if any of you are still struggling
For a horseman of the apocalypse this is one of the best cores we can get. For an apprentice however, like Strife's lesser known half brother on the mothers side Trifle, it may seem redundant...
The 2:46 mark sucks. I can't truly figure out the jumping mechanics when you run up a wall. Do I just hold the controller in the direction I want to jump at the same time as hitting the jump button? Edit: Got it with War. Much easier.
Just for anyone who wants to know. It's also possible to skip the last bit by clambering on top of the leviathan and getting slingshotted over but it takes some trial and error.
@@DesiMando_YT made it happen right before I posted that reply, but it took a few tries and the thing had to fly through at just the right angle to pretty much jump at it and get tail whipped over
2:45 that Segment ist completely broken to me. I can not jump off walls again. I have been trying for half an hour now. Sometimes i get to the spikes, but most of the times, i just fall, slide or glide down without ryme or reason. This is infuriating. This whole segment is complete bullshit.
I have that issue sometimes, but other times it works flawlessly. Not sure what the issue is, but when it decides not to work, I find jumping to the wall then not pressing any direction until just after I hit the next wall seems to work (if that makes sense). Kind of like; -jump into wall (from the bottom), release direction -wait til top of wall climb animation -press jump button *without* pressing any direction -when wall cling triggers, press direction into wall That usually triggers the next wall run animation, but if not, spamming jump back to the other wall then back again seems to fix the animation. Also sorry for so much text lol. Hope this helps somewhat.
It's incredible!!! I watched the video 10 times and never finished the 2nd part. Then I read the comments and the third one seems more difficult!!! (after watching the video IMHO the 3rd is more more more simple!!) Never seen a platform like this!!!
So uh.... I was just messing around to try and save my sanity of the last verticle part and you can actually get on top of the leviathan when it flys towards the screen and Idk how but I jumped off and glided over that whole part and landed on the core...
@@mightymanofvalour8691 The video I linked replying to myself shows exactly how it happened and the quest completing and reward. I noticed however the leviathans flight pattern is somewhat random but I'm not sure if this affects how consistently you can perform it
@@Raikator97 That's the problem. You gotta stand on the far edge and jump straight (slightly upward) to the left not to hit the invisible wall, and the double jump upward. And you have to time the rotate platform when it's moving down a bit.
All they added was a couple of those blue orbs that boost you up on part 3 so it makes it a little easier if you fall. The last section of part 3 is still complete bs
By the way, I found easier way to get forst core on that small pillars. Need using Strife and for better landing on every small pillar use his aaeril foot punch.
FYI, on the first row of disappearing platforms, it's actually every second platform that is safe, not every fourth. Then second row is every third, and third row is every fourth. 😉 Plus, if anyone is having trouble with timing and lining up to land on a specific platform, if you use Strife and double jump into the air and hold the shoot button, you will be held in the air for several seconds and be able to move *very* slowly, which makes lining up his shadow easier and gives you a bit more time to count platforms. Edit: Oh I should mention, don't glide before you shoot. If you glide before you shoot you'll enter the glide/shoot animation, which doesn't stop gliding, even if you let go of the jump button.
I'm having the worst time with the wall jumping section, I see what you're doing, but I the mechanics are so damn cluncky on the PS4. Any help would be appreciated.
Once you complete the second part of the 3rd part, do you get a blue check point orb? That way you don't have to do the 2nd part of the 3rd part again?
What's the trick to actually jumping from platform to platform for the final 3rd of the final part? Do you technically walk off the platform, then jump or what? Edit: Never mind, I figured it out.
Soo. I’m on stage 1 since hours and have already thrown my controller against the wall. I played DS 1,2,3 before I started with this game. and I have not seen a riddle there that is anywhere near as bad as this riddle. Good Video you have a like 👍
I'm late to the party but thanks for the help, honestly the reason the platforming is so bad is they don't give benefit of the doubt, if one pixel makes it you landed in other platformers, instead they go full doubt to the point if one pixel touches the side or top of something your instantly treated to a wall, the characters land on almost every surface like it's ice instead of rough, traction gripping surfaces and almost every part of it just shows how bad the top down type of camera angle was the worst possible choice for this franchise. It almost makes me wish that the other half of their original developers who went with crytek took the game instead which is a bad thought because a lot of other parts of this game were so enjoyable. The fighting with war felt fun, the shooting with strife was enjoyable even if I felt under powered at times and the abilities and other puzzles were a little simple but fun enough to do to break up the hack and slash fun. If they do ever make a DS4 I hope they go back to 3rd person or at least a movable camera and either refine the platforming or make the platforming stupid simple that the negatives of their platforming can't be noticed
Combat's cool, puzzles are cool but the platforming takes a giant dump on your patience. It just feels awkward with this type of "top down" gameplay. For me at least. I'm not fond of platforming to begin with and this game kicks you in the nutts with it.
not gonna lie I didn't think this was overly hard. Once I realized that it's all about inputs I just tapped back once I was over the little purple pillars and got past stage one in like 5min (to be fair I played around on that earlier getting the boatman coin at the top for like 10min). Stage 2 took like 10min just figuring out the timings and angles and stuff (I don't think many people have a problem with stage 2). Stage 3 took like 20min the 2 checkpoints you get were really handy IMO because you just speedrun all the way until the little rock things but you can just air kick your way down and never fall on them and after that, it's just figuring out the timing of the final jumps, and even if you mess up you can air kick and go at a lower level so I really don't see a problem with it. This definitely isn't a platformer game, the times I did fail it felt more like the game's stupidity than my own skill but I still think it wasn't overly hard. Then again I play games like Cuphead, Sekiro on demon mode, DS3, I wanna be the Boshi, etc for fun so I have a lot of experience with difficult/mechanically intense games. Good luck everyone!
Shoutout to the dev, this really makes you feel like a kid that was never loved by his parents, grew up and decided to program this god awful "puzzle" Do yourself a favour, grab that last core via the glitch and be done with it.

F this segment very much. After a lot of trial and error, I managed to get to the final area at 4:00 legit but after maybe a hundred attempts I just said screw it and turned the game speed down to the minimum in the settings. Still had to do it in 2 or 3 tries in slow motion since even when slowed, it still demands perfect jumps. I figured if the game is gonna be cheap, then I’ll just do the same. What sucked the most is that even though they add jump pads when you reach that part, you still have to keep doing the first row of disappearing tiles to get there. I ran that part so many times I can probably do the first row blindfolded due to muscle memory. Screw this part and big F you to the people that made it.

I am having a hell of a time in phase 2. I can get around the corner of the mountain to the wall-run section, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what I'm supposed to be landing on. I get to the top of the thing, jump off, and invariably glide into oblivion. This vid makes it look like there's some sort of ledge *behind* the foreground pillar that's the target, but I am certainly having no luck hitting it. Any advice would be appreciated. BTW, I'm playing on a PS4Pro in case that affects things (such as: there is no Graphics option to slow gameplay as mentioned elsewhere in the comments).
Did you ever revisit this? I'm on PS4 and the option to slow the gameplay presents as an "assist" slider, but so far I really only needed it while guiding the aether spark through the tiny moving squares in the gauntlet section.
@@syylone1997 I finished the game so apparently this wasn't a permanent stumbling block, but honestly it's been so long that I don't recall precisely what I did.

Me and the girl spent close to a total of 4hrs trying to do this one night. Had to turn down the game speed in order to accomplish it which made its seem longer.
^This. T H I S. This should be a pinned comment imho. I cannot express how much this lowers the frustration and overall difficulty of this abomination of platforming which was forsaken by every single god I know. Even though the 3rd section has been eased with addition of 2 shortcuts after you finish each sub-section (I assume those were absent at some previous game versions), it still took few tries to complete the last sub-section. For me, perfect speed was second from left side of bar. Abuse it. Abuse triangle for mid-air stop. Good luck, have faith, keep trying - its possible.
For the rows with safe and fake tiles in the third part, on the lowest row it's actually every second tile that is safe. In other words, you must skip (at least) as many tiles as the row you're on.
Why is it so hard to get on that god dam 2nd or third ledge! 1:14 it really shouldn’t be that difficult. I’m so mad 2:08 and I slip or fall or something happened cause just I’m im sure I land it I miss what the hell
I cant even get passed the 1st stage. I'm failing earlier and earlier and my eyes are starting to go funny because of the top down view making it look like dots pulsing when you jump up and down. Imagine making something so bad it hurts the players eyes. Seriously who made this. I want a list of their fears and their loved ones addresses.
The worst part of this is missing that first tile of the last section, then having to hear that stupid air kick sound effect for 10 minutes because Strife keeps slipping off the fucking tiles on the way back.
The person who "designed" this piece of shit should be locked down and forced to play this over and over again until he would understand the mistake he made. In addition to that all who is thinking about making games in the future should be obliged to play this 8 hour per day every day for the first year of their studies to learn HOW NOT to design levels in games
This is the WORST platforming section I've ever experienced in a game. Bad perspective, inconsistent controls, you need to land PERFECTLY on tiny platforms to not slide off. I've played through every darksiders game and even though this is optional it's turning me off from playing any future darksiders games. Eff the devs
Who the hell thought platforming like this would be a good idea in this game? Platforming is such a weak spot for this type of perspective and creates the very opposite of fun. If this game had the same perspective as the other games in the series, then platforming like this would be fine.

@@DaedLizrad I agree
I FINALLY DID IT! And all it took was me to mute everything in silence for concentration...
Whenever you hear the Leviathan in the background, he sounds like a nascar. Voooooooom!
The reward is not worth the stress from this
It is
Agree, that fucking platform
It's cool makes you look like a super sayian 2
For a horseman of the apocalypse this is one of the best cores we can get. For an apprentice however, like Strife's lesser known half brother on the mothers side Trifle, it may seem redundant...
@@BrightHero_Ultimato wut?? Did it change appearance or what??
Man, thank you so much from a fellow Guilty Gear fan.
Impressive. Very nice. Now let's see a War playthrough of this PTSD-inducing run.
This is about as much of a guide as much as the leviathan's maze is a maze.
I think they patched it long back... unless u tried it recently ?
@@DesiMando_YT made it happen right before I posted that reply, but it took a few tries and the thing had to fly through at just the right angle to pretty much jump at it and get tail whipped over
@syylone1997 oh is it... then I will give it try as well as m stuck with this for my platinum
@@DesiMando_YT I could maybe try to show you how I did it if you want?
@@syylone1997 thanks... will try for a week if i cant get it as shown in this video then i'll take you up on ur words :)
2:45 that Segment ist completely broken to me. I can not jump off walls again. I have been trying for half an hour now. Sometimes i get to the spikes, but most of the times, i just fall, slide or glide down without ryme or reason. This is infuriating.
This whole segment is complete bullshit.
I have that issue sometimes, but other times it works flawlessly. Not sure what the issue is, but when it decides not to work, I find jumping to the wall then not pressing any direction until just after I hit the next wall seems to work (if that makes sense). Kind of like;
-jump into wall (from the bottom), release direction
-wait til top of wall climb animation
-press jump button *without* pressing any direction
-when wall cling triggers, press direction into wall
That usually triggers the next wall run animation, but if not, spamming jump back to the other wall then back again seems to fix the animation.
Also sorry for so much text lol. Hope this helps somewhat.
Sto smattando!!! Non va neanche a me
Use Silver War! i had The same problem but with silver war nope
And thanks for the video. It did help me confirm I was going in the right direction.
Thank you! finally got the trophy.
It's incredible!!!
I watched the video 10 times and never finished the 2nd part.
Then I read the comments and the third one seems more difficult!!! (after watching the video IMHO the 3rd is more more more simple!!)
Never seen a platform like this!!!
So good to see this done. Glad I could watch rather than have to do it. I'll never be able to do that. If I can beat the game, I'm good. Thank you!
Just completed this.
*_Never again_*
Impressive. I will never do that myself ;-)
For any game dev out there, this is how not to do a good platforming section !
So uh.... I was just messing around to try and save my sanity of the last verticle part and you can actually get on top of the leviathan when it flys towards the screen and Idk how but I jumped off and glided over that whole part and landed on the core...
Did it recognise as you completing the maze as well (did you get the side quest notification in game that comes with a prize)?
@@mightymanofvalour8691 Yep as far as the game is concerned I did it legit
@@UrLocalZaddy great. Did you jump on to his head or body?
@@mightymanofvalour8691 The video I linked replying to myself shows exactly how it happened and the quest completing and reward. I noticed however the leviathans flight pattern is somewhat random but I'm not sure if this affects how consistently you can perform it

TwelvetoedGameDog! Thanks so much! I just beat part 1 with about 10 tries because of this adjustment!
@@remmy1219 np literally made that adjustment and got part 1 on first go after hours of fighting it at full speed.
TwelvetoedGameDog! What? That motion blur thing?
@@rubee666 Not sure. I think slowing gameplay helped more just didn't want any chance at an altered visual on that platforming.
Turning off motion blur seemed to make mine a bit smoother but slowing it down made it even more annoying for me.
May I ask how you reach the second spinning platform in part 2? I crash into it every time I attempt a jump similar to the one you do at 1:23.
It rotates but also rises and falls over a few seconds, you have to watch it as it starts going down and then jump.
@@RockLuca6 I was able to do it after reading your comment. Thank you so much!
@@csmegamanhackfan5921 Np bro :)!
I can't do this jump, Strife collides with something invisible... some help?
@@Raikator97 That's the problem. You gotta stand on the far edge and jump straight (slightly upward) to the left not to hit the invisible wall, and the double jump upward. And you have to time the rotate platform when it's moving down a bit.
I haven't attempted this yet but they just released a patch making it more fair and easy apparently. As well as a bunch of other fixes.
Yeah as someone who is still stuck in the third part of this at 2 am in the morning, i might have to say this is bullshit
@@famineinfernal1 Lmao.
They didn't fix your character having boots made of ice, the way you just slide off of platforms a lot...
@@danbailey5065 Lol
All they added was a couple of those blue orbs that boost you up on part 3 so it makes it a little easier if you fall. The last section of part 3 is still complete bs
By the way, I found easier way to get forst core on that small pillars. Need using Strife and for better landing on every small pillar use his aaeril foot punch.
Amazing tip bro.
FYI, on the first row of disappearing platforms, it's actually every second platform that is safe, not every fourth. Then second row is every third, and third row is every fourth. 😉
Plus, if anyone is having trouble with timing and lining up to land on a specific platform, if you use Strife and double jump into the air and hold the shoot button, you will be held in the air for several seconds and be able to move *very* slowly, which makes lining up his shadow easier and gives you a bit more time to count platforms.
Edit: Oh I should mention, don't glide before you shoot. If you glide before you shoot you'll enter the glide/shoot animation, which doesn't stop gliding, even if you let go of the jump button.
if I do this I am so gonna punch my monitor and make a hole
I'm having the worst time with the wall jumping section, I see what you're doing, but I the mechanics are so damn cluncky on the PS4. Any help would be appreciated.
Once you complete the second part of the 3rd part, do you get a blue check point orb? That way you don't have to do the 2nd part of the 3rd part again?
What's the trick to actually jumping from platform to platform for the final 3rd of the final part? Do you technically walk off the platform, then jump or what?
Edit: Never mind, I figured it out.
I used leviathan to slingshot over that garbage.
Leviathan's Gorge + Soul Arbiter's Maze = Leviathan's Maze
Hope to see Soul Arbiter's Gorge in the next Darksiders game.
Soo. I’m on stage 1 since hours and have already thrown my controller against the wall. I played DS 1,2,3 before I started with this game. and I have not seen a riddle there that is anywhere near as bad as this riddle. Good Video you have a like 👍
That airkick abuse saved me a few braincels.
You said it.
What platform are you playing on?
Is there a second air current after the row section in part 3?
Never really noticed until now that strifes jumping and doodging sounds like deaths from ds2
Very hard and unfair, somehow i managed it after 5 hours.

How the hell did you got the first stage done? I can't get through the platforms damn it...

2:55 *screaming intensly later*
first row is actually every 2nd tile, but 4 also works go figure anyway back to screaming
AAGGHGHHHH
ps. SCREW ALLL OF THIS, but htank you for hte video very helpful

Judging by this video and the comments, this is a resounding nope.

@@KyKiske7 thanks, yeah figured that out.
It's impossible. Made it past the first part but can't get past the 2nd part I try to fallow what was did in the vid, but game keeps on talling me not today and I fall. Good times let me tell you. Like trying to just on a nail head
Took me about an hour to get to the last vertical jumping bs. Can't even get going on it 😂
Me and the girl spent close to a total of 4hrs trying to do this one night.
Whats the Core from completing the quest to get to the end of this puzzle?
The leviathan core
At max rank it provides you with the following buffs
+10% Attack and Wrath Power and +10% Max Health
Why is it so hard to get on that god dam 2nd or third ledge! 1:14 it really shouldn’t be that difficult. I’m so mad 2:08 and I slip or fall or something happened cause just I’m im sure I land it I miss what the hell
I cant even get passed the 1st stage. I'm failing earlier and earlier and my eyes are starting to go funny because of the top down view making it look like dots pulsing when you jump up and down. No wonder the game is cheap these hard things that you need to do perfectly just to get something by standing on something perfectly is so annoying
Putting a stage like this into a game like this is like tossing a used band-aid into a fresh chicken parm. hoagie...

That is a fantastic metaphor mate
I know it’s useless now and it has been a long time since release but… WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?! Holy shit this is terrible
at the 3 stage, on the 1row you can go one on two
The worst part of this is missing that first tile of the last section, then having to hear that stupid air kick sound effect for 10 minutes because Strife keeps slipping off the fucking tiles on the way back.
Eff the devs
my gamepad would not have survived this
Bruh! You are fucking sick!
Who the hell thought platforming like this would be a good idea in this game? Platforming is such a weak spot for this type of perspective and creates the very opposite of fun. If this game had the same perspective as the other games in the series, then platforming like this would be fine.
This made me quit going for the 100% the platforming in this game is so ass and then they do this
