- In this episode of my crazy vanlife adventures I sit down and talk about what you might want to consider before diving head first into this nomadic lifestyle. Social media might make it look glamorous but at the end of the day we are all just sleeping in our cars. Car camping can be fun! If you can endure the struggles of being a dirtbag then go get your campervan!

I like your footage and explanations! 👍👍Great!
well spoken!
Love listening to you opening up. . .! Take care dear nephew ❤
thank you
Love hearing it it’s a lot better
Hi Bro, my name's Max from Sicily.
Good Life and, Good Coffee!!!
I slept in a car and in my work van I can't compare them at all my work van is insulated has a solar, a fridge and a microwave also I have a 32 inch monitor with Netflix and tmobike home internet. I could definitely love off my van my car was terrible
There is also nothing saying you can’t own a van and still have a home 👍👍
I would love to have a lifestyle like yours how to retired truck driver all I do is sit in my apartment and watch TV I'd love to have a band like yours and be able to travel wherever I want to go to me that's living 😊😊😊
You’ve already done plenty of driving, why stop now!
I keep a Bialetti in my Vanagon, too. ☕️
I’m also on the verge of swapping to a TDI motor - got the FAS kit already. Just hunting a donor vehicle.
What upgrades did you make to the transaxle?
Another good video Sebastian! Can’t wait to watch your channel take off. Keep up the good work!
Thank you there is lots more to come!
lol, little van go brrr
Good stuff! Hey me again. I hope to get going on my free and very similar brown tiptop machine in June now that I have my Utah title for it.
I like your tubular spare tire mounts, what application are they for, VW or otherwise? I have a Kia Sportage swing away unit I got from a scrapyard so plan to modify it as the weldor/fabricator I am. 👨🏭
Indeed I think it would be lovely to have a travel companion. I finally lived out my 20 year long dream of traveling SLC to Seattle, Portland, down the gorgeous Pacific Coast Highway and through Yosemite last summer in one of my twin B5 Audi A4 Avants (Clark Kent) and had a total blast but was quite lonely indeed. 🌏
Hey! These swing aways are for the vanagon, I got them from vancafe. I’m sure you could fab something up though!
It’s definitely easy to feel alone but lately I never feel lonely.
Very good. My van choice is economic. I wanted a used Chevy and the dealer wouldn't sell it. So they would loan me lots of money for a new RAM Promaster City. Real strain on my retirement Social Security though going on year four it is great. Honestly enjoyed your common sense presentation.
Promaster city is a great van! I feel like the simple things are what people forget to consider the most
@@Sebastianstonum I hesitate to offer advice though having money and security is important. I was an architect defense contractor banking representative and ultimately worked casino security. My simple things were parents who objected to my success and wives who contributed nothing or actually took pride in damaging me. Another simple thing was people slipping me drugs or poison. Not so simple I have traveled around the world twice sailed on great cruise ships and flown the most marvelous planes. Being an architect I stayed at the grandest hotels the world could offer. Without these not so simple accomplishments my life would only be terrible parents and terrible wives.
Love it, my nephew still wondering about Yellowstone and how it's going hope I didn't miss that video but I usually get notifications on your videos from your uncle D yep yep
Hopefully more info in Saturday’s video!
G'Day mate, I loved the thought of van life especially VW van life. I traded in my 2021 VW T-Roc Style for a 2018 VW T6 Transporter 340TDI cargo van, spent the first night at a caravan park with just a blow-up mattress on a cold windy night, it was horrid but it could only go up from there lol My wife and I built a timber bed frame with wood from the local hardware store and put a cheap foam mattress cut to size in it, worked okay but not the best. I ended up getting this awesome fitout company in Sydney Australia, Katacamperbox, to fit out my van with wood cladding, downlights and a MaxxAir fan for $10K, sure people can do all that themselves but not me, I wanted it done right and it only took them a week. Now my wife and I love going camping on weekends, into the forest, to some showgrounds, down the south coast or up the north coast, it's awesome especially here in Australia. Take care, mate, safe travels.
I’m not much of a woodworker myself haha that’s not a bad price though. There are companies over here that charge 20-30k for that. We all have to start somewhere!
So how is Finn gonna do on the road in his van because he was never working on the boat? Doesn't seem like he's mechanically inclined like Jack or his dad.
Finns going to kill it. He’s got more life experiences than most people I know.
You can't be cooking Pasta every night, lol
I try and mix it up. Im big on salads now
We like Pasta salad too@@Sebastianstonum
Doubting you "explored all of Alaska" in that rig... or any other.
Just the parts with roads
