1st great project for the lathe. question why is my lag screw on the screw chuck walking out , anyone have experience with this it is my 1st attempt thanks to all
Thank you for sharing and teaching. Your design is both elegant and functional and you have inspired me to try making a stool as a project. Much appreciated Tomislav!
Now that is a fine, sturdy stool to stand up against shop-wear and weather. Have you ever tried using a glued block like that for a large dish? Very interesting technique on getting the leg holes drilled. A simple, elegant design. Excellent use of handtools. And that is some plane. Thanks for sharing
I really look forward to the first of the month to see what project the four of you are doing. I enjoy seeing the different thought processes that each of you use when approaching the task. I gives me more to think about with what I am turning my self. I have only been turning a little over a year and appreciate what I am learning for all of you.
Very well done. I always like wedged tenons. Nice contour in the seat top. I do like this four way challenge idea. Four different perspectives on the basic specification. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
This stool is really beautiful and the simple lines make it very elegant. This is a real masterpiece. Also, I learned lots ofgreat woodworking tips as well. Thank you Tomislav, Brendan.
work of a true craftsman. Beautiful design and so much for us all to learn. I had just made a simple 3 legged stool for my grandson but I think I need to up my game and you have given me the drive to have a go. Love the 4 way challenge please carry on !
This is an awesome project! A functional piece of furniture all on the lathe. It could have easily been done with no lathe at all, but that’s an entirely different project. You have inspired me to give it a try. I am nowhere as skilled as you since I am just starting out but I think I could learn a lot from trying this. Thanks!
It can be simpler as well with joinery, not that difficult but really rewarding. That is why we used to make these with students. Thank you very much for watching
That is a well-done piece. I really look forward to these four-way projects. This one was quite interesting as turning was really only a portion of the overall project. Very interesting to see how the four of you each approached the project. I really like the details you put in your design. Thanks for participating in this activity and posting these videos; they are very instructive.
Wow! I love it!! Great job, buddy. And your hand plane is a wonderful piece, and it’s obvious that you know how to USE it. Have a great day, and keep working safe.
The only part I felt comfortable with was the flat work, planing the edges....... Nice plane btw 😁 the rest of it scared the sheight outta me (im new to lathe work tho) 😅😂 dunno if il ever be able make a stool 😂 Top class Tomi, really enjoyed it 😁🤙
Thank you but its not that difficult, seat is like the bowl, legs can be even simpler, joinery as well..... Try to make smaller version, like up to 300mm height, kids stool.... I think you'll enjoy it 🤗
Not a fan of this project idea, not really woodturning, Sam has not turned top . Tool handles have more turning design than stool legs. Good job though and thanks for sharing Tomislav
Woow ..... Crossgrain tehniques for the seat that is used for bowls, platters and such and spindle work for legs and strechers... Sorry but what would be then turning? Maybe epoxy stool? Sam took his time to make awsome stool and showed stuff that are not much on UA-cam, extremely well done threads, Mike took time to do more complex design for the legs and looks awsome, Richard as well, I took simple route as that is my style... But saying that this is not turning is just wrong and totally missed the point of this project.... Nevertless thank you for watching 😀
Tomislav has often demonstrated an excellent eye for design. He certainly has the ability to turn a Victorian nightmare of a spindle for legs, but the lines on this are perfectly elegant -- the work of a master and something that doesn't need beads, coves, astrigals, urns, ogees, reeds, . . Often, less is more.
I like the simplicity of the stoll turned out great thanks for showing that its not that hard to make
Beautiful piece, Tomislav. You've shown yourself to be not just a woodturner, but a woodworker.
Thanks,glad you liked it ☺️
Tomislav, you hit it out of the Park. Great Job!
Thank you Rich very much 🤗

How can anyone use a skew and make it look so easy, I hate the skew 😂
😂😂 whenever you have spindle work, grab a skew and give yourself time and you'll get the hang of it....
Thank you very much for watching
