  • This is the assembly presentation for my CAD (Computer Aided Design) end of term project for college. The project goal was to design a child's tricycle that would fit a 5 year old child. This presentation outlines the assembly process of the entire tricycle and then shows animation of the handle bars and wheel rotation.The background music is courtesy of Syrian www.spacetalk.net/ and is used with written permission. Enjoy!
    Music Artist: Syrian
    Album: Kosmonauta
    Song: Nova 4001

    machining crank arms to come out equally apposed to each other is a machinists nightmare having them stay apposed to each other after use is dreaming. that is why solid cranks are used. I love your animation.

    thank you, it took probably about 100-110 hours, including all the schematics I had to make up for it. It was assigned early because it takes almost all semester and people in the past have run out of time because they did not start it soon enough.

    Hi there. Very nice animation. I didn't care much about the vehicle, but the animation sequence is very good. I guess that was your idea, wasn't it? JP

    When interviewing engineers for possible hire, I've learned the hard way to skip all that crap about college education, previous employment, etc. The place to begin is "Have you ever designed and built something that worked?" Maybe 1 in 10 has done so. The rest are just bullshitters or start-from-scratch trainees who don't know that's what they are.
    This video is unfortunately an example of why I have to begin with that question. It's as though the guy has never looked at commercial trikes and asked why they're built that way. Or, passed a first year physics course. Or walked into a welding shop and seen how things are made from tubing.

    now I see why all these people building and or designing vehicles for disabled folks are all setting them up for a fall Because thats how their being taught in our messed up school system People if you simply move two tires up frunt and put one tire in back you will build a safer riding trike for all concerned

    The left hand pedal shaft would have to be left hand thread so it wouldnt screw loose when pedaled

  • @JasonvandeLaar
    @JasonvandeLaar  12 років тому

    @medicolas No, did not have the time, tooling or space to do so. The cost would likely be prohibitive and I consider this a concept model.
