    It's tough to do a comparison when you're doing mono vs stereo and two completely different volume levels. It's not about the sound quality at that point... but obviously the louder and stereo signal is going to sound better to any listener. So it's sort of setting the Phenyx up to fail, IMO.

      The point I was making is despite the mono/stereo difference, the Phenyx Pro still delivers all the details needed to monitor yourself. As I mentioned in the video, IEM is not about an audiophile listening experience.

    Good review. For the first A/B test, (all of them, really) balancing the audio levels between direct and PMT-10 would give a much better impression of the Phenyx's sound quality.

      To me the biggest issue was the mono/stereo difference... It almost made me give up on buying the unit

    you should run the recorded audio in mono. because the ptm-10 is a mono output. Fairer comparison that way

    I would love to see an A/B comparison of the Phenyx Pro PTM-10 (UHF) and the Xvive U4 (Digital/WIFI). They're both in the same price range, but the components are very different

    Thanks for the review! I want to invest in my first IEM system - should I spend money on a mono-only system like the ptm 33 with 4 receivers right out the gate (and then upgrade to a stereo system later), or should I start and keep a stereo system like the PTM 10 and then get 4 belt pack receivers with that? Thanks!

    Thanks for the review! My experience was a bit different in the "glitching" department. I'm 20' away, and the GLITCH is so loud (and frequent!) it's PAINFUL! I'm working on solving the issue... we'll see??? If I had your glitch, I wouldn't even mention it... just sayin'...

      Here is my update: I watched this video to see who was getting the same glitching issue I was. I just installed this unit literally hours ago... I revisited it this morning and swapped out the Balanced xlr to 1/4" to Balanced xlr to xlr! It shouldn't matter, but it did! Also, I'm using a BT transmitter from guitar to processor... KEEP THE BT AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE! Now I have a "reasonably low" noise ceiling... and the VERY LOUD glitch is gone...

    Hello Sir Perf🙋‍♂️ new to this, do you have a video tutorial on how to use or set up an IEM? Thank you so much!

    I buy this system 3 weeks ago and I play a lot of music and a couple of rehearsals with 3 different bands... I think the unit of this video was defective or wrong configured (In mono mode, Tx, Rx or both) or a bad cable, because although THEY HAVE a difference between wired vs wireless, is much less than what I can hear in this video. Yes, the PTM has a little less bass, really little less stereo separation and of course, a little background white noise, sounds a little "crunchy" maybe, but in real terms in a live situation, the difference is virtually imperceptible. Anyway, thanks for make this review!

      This is wireless vs actual audio synced in editing, NOT wired 🙂 but thanks for the comment

      @OfficialPerfectoDeCastro I really appreciate the effort to create a real world comparison, but I don't understand why you didn't compare stereo to stereo and mono to mono for this review. It would be so much easier for people to see how close or not close the sound quality is if they were not essentially comparing apples to oranges. Every serious audio A/B I've seen (or been part or creating) does everything possible to keep things as close to 1:1 comparisons as possible. Even for a lot of experienced audio folks, the perceived differences from slight changes can be hugely misleading to the ear.

    I’d blame that first glitch around the free throw line on the camera because the video glitches at the same time.

    I'd definitely like to have head it in stereo. We run a splitter and can do stereo in ears so was wondering how that sounded. There's a huge difference in the mono and stereo mixes in this vid.

    • @OfficialPerfectoDeCastro
      @OfficialPerfectoDeCastro  Рік тому +2

      Like I mentioned, the sound quality is the same but with stereo separation. The huge difference you hear is not Mono vs Stereo but rather a Companded signal vs an uncompressed Recording
