Living 5 years in Grimsby now. This is the best thing happened to this poor looking town.

That sky...people must have the most amazing views over the years...some sunsets and rises.....used to be a grimsby lass....rode down Freemo at 4.30am on my push bike on way to 'G ' factory via the docks...we had some fun in those days...I was a band saw operator....when Freeman street was busy...buses were packed....even for work...standing room only...everyone had a job....I hope it returns to the great days again...god bless Great Grimsby 👏🌸

That campaign lot, 38 Degrees, started a petition, three years ago, to 'save Nelson House'. According to them, over 60% of the residents wanted to stay there. So, how many signatures did their petition get? TEN!!

My family ancestry comes from Grimsby and Cleethorpes, including WW1 dead. Loving seeing these concrete monstrosities being removed from the landscape.

Why don’t we have fire engines 🚒 with a reach this high to put out high rise block of flats or office fire???

When i was a kid Freeman Street was a hive of activity. Packed full of shoppers looking for a bargain. People came from miles around to visit Freeman Street Market. My Nan bless her used to walk to the market from Towns Ground every single week just for the market. In those days you could walk down the alleys right from Manchester Street Cleethorpes to Ramsdens then the old Asda on Grimsby Road then to Riby Square. WTF happened?@

Grimsby is on its knees. And all they done by taking these down is put all the smackheads all around us normal hardworking people. Should of kept them in there why taking the flats down. This town needs a massive clean up.

What a rude person you are. I lived in one of those blocks from 1964 to 1973 and everyone in the block knew everyone else, almost like a community. The only reason for the decision to demolish them was the new private sector owners realizing that they had bitten off way more than they could chew and took the easy way out. Many former residents, decent respectable people, stood and wept as they saw their former homes being demolished. You might consider yourself a "normal hardworking person" but you are also a total snob.

@@jimobasa525 I'm no snob at all. Just knew of many smackheads that lived there. + it was the perfect place to drug deal as the police couldn't see what was going on in there.

The only thing that changed in the east marsh is the people. It used to be a reasonable place to live until it became sociably acceptable to not work and take drugs. Too many get everything for free and result neither respect what they are given nor themselves.... its a sad state of afairs when the hard working people have to support such dross....
