    Thanks for watching! Tell me what household objects you'll use for an obstacle course👇

    My puppy seems to have ideas of creating his own agility course. He's running under the table, under the chairs, leaping over the fence, flower pots and jumping from one couch to the other. He does it randomly and people just stare when he stars doing it because he's so fast and so precise that they assume we're training him for agility. I've never trained him for any course, just basic shit, stay, lay down, give paw, leave it, out(to leave something he's taken into his mouth). He's only 5 months old and a mut (we think he's an english pointer, lab and border collie mix), and extremely smart. He figured out on his own how to open the doors in the house, so now we have to lock it so he doesn't open it. Love his smart little puppy brain so much. 💝

      Sounds similar to my senior great dane. He only gets crazy agile in the house once in a while. Fun but a bit dangerous. We've been throuh a few doors that he has figured out as well.

    Thanks for featuring "puppy Bitsy" in her tunnel! She was so little then, but still loves playing in her tunnel, running through it and sometimes I put a pile of toys in the middle and ask her to find one particular one -- which she does! Love these videos....

    Love this video. I was thinking I had to do what the pros di. Thank you simplifying this. My dogs love yo play hot lava, where they chase each other and jump from sofa to sofa to chair to their bed in the living room. I have been looking for a way to capture with the adults. Now have a totally great way to do. Thank you and your team!

    Pickles Peaches and Lincoln have inspired me! Daisy is working on jumping up to the bed, over the pillows and down to the floor. Now to find a “tunnel” and something to zig-zag through. Thanks for helping me be a better mom to my smart, busy malti-poo!

    As someone who has trained and competed in agility with a dog, I love the message here that anyone can do it and the dog really doesn’t care about titles. Do it for the joy and the mental and physical stimulation for both dog and human. That said, a HUGE caution on safety - I’m assuming these trainers never really trained anything in agility before. 1. Slippery surfaces are a NO!! - may be ok for light prancing but once your dog knows what you want and picks up speed, tile, wood, faux wood, etc are a recipe for disaster. Set up a course outside in a flat area or on carpet. The dog MUST have traction. Please. Not kidding. 2. Jump bars MUST be able to fall!! It your dog misses a fixed jump, you could have an injury! Easily!! Even going slowly. There are lots of other videos on here showing safe DIY jumps. This isn’t someone being overly cautious ..this is someone who knows first hand that a dog can get very hurt when precautions aren’t taken to ensure safety! You love your dog enough to want to do this with him/her, love enough to make sure the game does not end badly!!!

      Thanks for the tips! Yes, safety is so important to prevent injuries and anyone who is thinking about agility should read up on all the proper ways to introduce and practice the skills. Thanks for watching!

    My girl is 7 weeks old. Would it be too hard on her body if I set some easy things up?

    • @HowToTrainADreamDog
      @HowToTrainADreamDog  2 роки тому

      That would be great to set up very easy, low/small things for her to work around. Just make sure to not do anything that could potentially cause an injury. Great idea!
