I would suggest trying to make something small, such as a guessing game. Not only will this help with building coding skills, but it will show that you’re interested. You don't. Research is a very elitist activity, not only do most countries not have research opportunities for high school students, even in countries that do have them, only the rich kids can afford to do it-cuz let's be real, the whole "I walked up to a professor and asked them if they'll let me research in his lab" is bs. It's not that easy. Most professors have no time for kids fooling around in their labs. So research is honestly really stupid in most cases. Because of the above reason, doing research comes across has something very superficial that you did just for college, and you'll only hamper your application. There are exceptions, of course, but the exceptional kids who DO commit to a research project for years on end are still rich, resourceful and connected. It's literally impossible for middle/lower class kids to even think about conducting actual research. So if you don't have a research project, it's not gonna hurt you.

I also love reading, drawing, learning, making creative projects and exploring nature..(idk if that helps) Do you or anyone have any advice? It would be a great help thanks
If I did many projects, should I write about all of it in the college essay or just focus on one big project? Please help me, thank you :)
I would say do the projects that you felt are the most significant to you and you genuinely care about the most. And if you can’t decide then also consider what will look best in relation to your career and the rest of your application. Example:
I am applying as a architect who will also focus on sustainable design
My passion project: starting an environmental club and teaching young kids how to draw
@@jessicac8090 I see, thank you for the advice :)
I am a national level sport pistol shooter.
I have been doing this activity science my freshman year and now I am in my senior year.
Is it a wow Factor and will it make me standout, if I am targeting harvard and Stanford
How do you feel about military service on an application
Really interesting video!!!
Matricula, tuition. Cuota, fee.
Does starting an account in the share market help?
does anyone have any ideas on passion projects regarding biology/making medicine?? i’m not in many clubs so this could really help my applications 😭
Comment to remind me, as this might be helpful later.
Maybe research on what are considered traditional medicine and homemade stuff and figuring out what makes it work through trial and error. This could even be turned into a science fair project a long time down the road if you find anything
so i got involved with an organization that spends time at childrend cancer hospitals, most of the kids are permanently there and i with a few other people go there weekly to spend time with them and teach them chess.(Im in the top ten in my category in my continent when it comes to chess) i know it doesnt seem like it has much to do with biology and medicine, but if you get involved with something like this you can talk about how much it has impacted you and what youve learned from it, but also how much its inspired even more to want to go into that field, how you want to help ppl etc
Could we start a project our senior year
How can I make a passion project about computer science when I'm just learning to code and can't code yet?
I would suggest trying to make something small, such as a guessing game. Not only will this help with building coding skills, but it will show that you’re interested. If that’s too complicated to do on your own yet, continue to build the core concepts. There are plenty of tutorials to help you learn!
does making 3d models counts? I make bunch of em every here and there and I did publish some of em on some famous websites
would creating a piece of media work, like say making an entire game?
Sure! And if you can get people to play it even better!!
I am only who is Junior and got no that much activity to show for it
THANK YOU!!!
please make a video on transfer to top schools
Do have a timestaps plz..
hey super tutor tv, I am an international student how can I contact you directly, I get something to reveal to you
What could be an idea for a business major
Many of my business majors start a business. Dog walking, tutoring, reselling candy/food at school, and babysitting clubs tend to be less impressive than ideas that are more outside the box, part of some startup incubator, or product sales. I had a kid who got in ED to his business school this year talking about his adventures in drop shipping.
Does publishing a book count?
definitely
@@rishisrihari6130 that’s what I’m doing now so ye :)
Is it a good book?
@@SupertutorTV It’s fictional and I’m adding in racial problems within society in this age mentioning them but not really talking about them. I believe it’s enjoying to read so probably so.
@@marwamimi843 love to hear it :)
harvard 25!
i will be applying next November but by then i will have actually completed my high school, I am an international student, will that hurt my application, ?
Not sure but I’m sure it won’t matter as much if you make that time out of school useful by doing volunteer things or internships. A lot of collages have a space where you address gap years so you could use that to explain your situation more
@@jessicac8090 Thanks for your response, actually there are not a lot of things i can do in my society, even volunteer work is so general
im in the mafia is that good enough
I am about aplying university shoud i try this activity
It's sad when u graduated high-school already and didn't had chances to do any of these things back then.
I’m just a junior here wondering wow why didn’t I realize how likely I was to get in a good school if I had done something out of class
Hi, I'm very interested in teaching, cooking, and publishing some things, learning something online, so are these things will help me or not??
Maybe start a UA-cam channel where you teach cooling or something
Self-publish a cookbook and teach cooking classes live as part of your promotion of the book
@@samkirrin9776 will it help??
@@EmanFatima-ic3sk sorry I mean cooking. But yeah, if you are genuinely passionate about cooking, you could even mention it in your essays and talk about your own recipes. My friend wrote about birds( and how he used to photograph them) and got into his dream school
@@EmanFatima-ic3sk Think about why they interest you, and if it isn’t late, try to do something (similar to what Sam touched upon) concerning your interests.
I am starting a group research and discussion club army highschool, would this apply or should I also have another project?
I was also thinking of starting a study with me UA-cam channel, any idea if those look good to colleges?
i am an author of aa book. is that a wow factor. plus i am an international student.
yeah and win the Nobel prize
How would we incorporate our project into our college application? Also, Idk if anyone in the comments can answer this, but something I’m doing rn is training a horse from the ground up. He will likely be put up for sale unless he shows so much potential that I decide to keep him. Could this be considered a passion project? Odds are he won’t be ready by the time I’ve applied to schools (I’m a rising senior) but I’ve been working with him for several months now already
Article link is broken
Sorry will fix soon!!!
@@SupertutorTV link works but there’s no text format... thanks for responding!
Does anyone know how much Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts helps?
Gold award project?
@@SupertutorTV I wasn't sure if it was a passion project or not. Thanks!
@@srijanampally It can be-- but really depends on the project you do!
wait i already did this😇 ayo colleges come look at me!
I just won Nobel prize and won gold in the olympics and I cured cancer last week, can I get into Harvard now??
😂😭😭 do I laugh or cry--
Hey does anyone want to start a passion project with me? I’m a sophomore in hs interested in environmental engineering.
I’m a junior and want to do architecture with emphasis on sustainable design for the environment so I wish ya luck fellow human on the internet
Unless 😳.....
@@jessicac8090 ahh I'm a junior interested in industrial design (with sustainability as a top priority)
since not many schools provide industrial design compared to architecture, I might consider that as well since it combines stem and design...? but yeah idk haha
Hi
How am I going to do research in my third world country 😭
The life you present to a university that you hope will accept you needs to be *organic* If you attempt to throw together “ECs” that are not things you would be doing if you had no intention of going to university - the admission officer will know it and it’s not a great look. YT is rife with videos telling people to contrive such basically false pictures and claiming it worked for them. Avoid this.
She gives off big ENTJ energy lol
