Software Development has nothing to do with Average Student or not. You marks do not determine whether you will become a good software engineer or not. It depends on your skills. Your interest. And how you are able to solve problems with Software. So if you are really interested in Software Development then you have to invest your time, energy and money to become a good software developer. After that you need to use this skills to do the work in front of you. I have seen software engineers who had very poor marks in Engineering or Graduation but they are very good as software developers.
