Did a comparison of The Fiend for yesterdays video so thought I would take it a step further and do a few more.
Its kinda obvious which looks better but I thought it would be interesting to compare! #TEAM101

it was when they first released it, after awhile they cleaned it up
People have to remember that they were 'porting' the game over from Yukes' proprietary engine (with code that they had working knowledge of only) to one that is more accessible by the VC staff.
A lot of the issues, graphical downgrading and glitches were because it should have been a (behind-the-scenes) multi-year process, but the higher-ups at Take-Two/2K wanted it done in 8 - 10 months.
2k20 had a fly by night design schedule because yukes left

Why is Roman still using that title entrance? We've seen him enter with the title alone during the Bloodline era.
Rollins really looked the worst in this video in 2k20
Its a bummer that they didnt even think of adding new entrance for Roman. This animation is old and he didnt do those actions for like years
Wwe 2k20 sadly use to have more features that we dont even have today since the global isolation pandemic changed the whole world but luckily 2k24 meets my expectations not 2k20 ever except the my rise career mode

The only good thing I can say about 2k20 was the entrances were top tier. The commentary during the entrances was very good
Some of them actually stacked up pretty well on 2k20. The Sami Zayne one, on the other hand, really shows the improvement in 2k24. Rollins too.
Yeah, it's because they are still using the same engine they had to create for 20, now. They just had time to update and polish it compared to what happened between 2K19 and 2K20. A lot of fans don't realize, 2K20 was not really an UGLY game, it just had some really bad ports of models and hair physics and bad lighting as well. As you said, certain models still looked good in 2K20, most others didn't unfortunately.

Its more just to highlight how far the visuals have come in the last 4 years. Thought it might be interesting side by side.
Roman looks a bit better, but still far from perfect. Crazy to see they haven't updated the title entrance of the current number 1 star for the past 4 years though. To be fair, I know he rarely ever made an entrance in solo since ( without Heyman specifically, but also without the whole group ) , and barely even showed up at all for over a year, but still...
Owens is a huge improvement. On top of the face being greatly improved, what striked me the most are the tattoos. I didn't remember them looking so much like body paint in 2K20. In 2K24 they actually look like tattoos.
Orton, oh my gosh, that one is a huge downgrade... Just pause it at 1:52... 2K20 legit looks like Orton, vs 2K24 which I don't know who's that supposed to be, but one thing is for sure it's that it ain't Orton. One thing I've noticed from Orton going forward, is how much more detailed everything looks in 2K20. Just look at the face's skin, and the muscles from the chest and abs. They all look so much more detailed in 2K20, compared to 2K24 where everything looks more smooth. His muscles looks a lot more chiseled in 2K20.
Austin can't really be compared, 'cause in 2K20 he looks like he has his '98-'99 face, as opposed to 2K24 where he has his current face, so it's normal he looks different as he was younger back then than he is now. What can be compared though, is the jacket. And, again, just like Orton, see how more detailed the textures looks in 2K20. Especially while he walks on the stairs and enters the ring, and then walks in the ring. It looks like leather in 2K20, as opposed to 2K24 who looks like plastic ( just look at the details of the texture on the back at between 3:43 and 3:44 , it ain't as detailed in 2K24 ) .
Kofi is pretty similar. Close but not exactly that in both games. Again though, just like Orton, look at the abs muscles... A lot more detailed/chiseled in 2K20 than he is in 2K24.
Zayn looks fairly good in both games. We tend to forget it, but, he did look like he does in 2K20 when they were making the game ( early 2018 'cause he got injured and wasn't there late 2018, so early 2018 was the best 2K had to work with, since he only came back on TV May 2019, which was way too late to be able to update his model, knowing the game would release barely 5 months later ) . While he looks bad now in 2K20, he was pretty fine at the time ( just look how he looked in April-May 2018, being aware that this was what 2K was trying to put in the game, it's not bad at all ) .
Hogan, oh gosh, just like Orton, that one is a HUGE downgrade... Probably one of the worst ( if not the worst ) downgrade in 2K24 compared to 2K20. Just, pause between 5:58 - 5:59 , and put the video on speed 0.25 from 6:11 to 6:16 to really see the difference. Oh my gosh... That is awful... In 2K24 he legit looks like a PS2 model, compared to 2K20 where he looks like a PS4 model. Look at how much more detailed the face texture is, in 2K20. The wrinkles on the cheeks, on the nose, everywhere, in 2K20, compared to 2K24 where it's all smooth, zero details, zero wrinkles, nothing... And even the throat, the upper chest, the arms... The difference is huge. 2K24 legit looks like a game that released 10 to 15 years before 2K20 on that Hogan model, it's insane. To play the devil's advocate, there is one thing that looks better in 2K24, it's his hair. Other than that, 2K24 should really give his model back to the PS2 era. No wonder they had to give him sunglasses in 2K24, they're trying to hide how awful he looks in that game, as opposed to 2K20 who wanted us to see how great he looks by not having the sunglasses.
Rollins looks equally bad in bad in both games, though just like Hogan, his hair looks a lot better in 2K24.
Fiend Wyatt looks a lot better in 2K20. The hairstyle in 2K24 doesn't help. The camera angles are much better in 2K20. Also, having him hold the lantern at the start of his entrance was better too, as we could see he was holding a creepy lantern is. Compared to 2K24 where we don't really know what he's holding, it looks like it's a bird cage with a mop over it during his entire entrance, having him show it at the begining of his entrance was a better idea. The worst part is the lighting. He looks so much scarier and creepier in that pitch dark arena in 2K20. There's way too much light in 2K24.
But that's something that can be said about everyone else too. Too much lighting. Like when Orton walks backwards before going up the stairs. So much light behind him in 2K24, it looks better in 2K20.

If 2k20 has anything definitely better than 2k24, its the legends trons and other entrance graphics. The fact that 2k20 was the last game they actually gave guys like Stone Cold and Hulk Hogan proper titantrons, or other legends having custom trons and graphics over those awful Hall of Fame graphics is crazy

Why we doing comparisons to one of the worst looking wwe games called 2k20??? I know people aren't saying 2k20 kooks better when unanimously everyone was on a agreement that it was the worst one in general for everything. I guess people really forget the dark times of 2k20 and desperately looking for a reason to hate 2k24🤣
