I had two I played with for about 25 years!...an old 1174 model and then a Collector's 1988!...never saw a luthier in their life so that says a lot!...amazing instruments!...
Thanks for sharing! I've never had slippage problems when playing Os as long as I sat with good posture. You get a nice tone, kinda in-between a flat top and an archtop. Really nice!
Being used to a flat bottomed one I put a foam wedge on the back of mine, but I suppose if you are used to them you will adjust. Very good sound quality that is only matched by far more expensive instruments. I heard complaints about the necks bowing, but they all bow and twist over time and need adjusting. It took twenty years for the old guitar to need adjusting.
US Legends 6 and 12'vers are my favorite guitars! I do have one '72 deep bowl acoustic only,and an '84 medium bowl A/e,both US made that are honorable mentions. But, I'm really impressed with a YM68 K I got on reverb recently! It has a thin hollow body electric guitar feel to it, and it has a mahogany back! 😮
I love ovations, especially nice old ones. Be carefulbl using 12s on it. Maybe tune it a half step down. It might be an idea to use 11s on it. It is recommded from the manufacturer. They are very prone to cracking. Its Beautiful guitar. Good purchase!

My dad has this guitar (the one in the back). I love the fretboard but I hate how the guitar can't stay still, so I never play it. But I'm going to consider sticking lots of anti slide badges to it's back and give it another try.

I have an Ovation, a Sigma, and a Martin. Ovation is my go-to guitar for 48 years.

Put Velcro stripes on bottom to reduce sliding off your leg. Sweet guitar!

Jarvis cocker from Pulp uses it. The neck is very thin I think.

I ve had two, use light strings, set up to medium string action, then u will have punch and clear tone as this video
