Thank you for this incredubly informative video! Im exploring purchasing my first hot tub. Wow this really opened my eyes and you have already saved me from throwing money out the window!
Any suggestions appreciated in regards to a small plug and play model (Funds limited) and if buying a refurbished model is wise.

I'm pleased with my Beachcomber from Costco, competitive price.

I almost bought a beachcomber until I found out there was no access panels to remove for repair

The beachcombers not a bad product but the Costco pricing is way too high for that kind of jet package. You also better pray you don't have a leak as the they cut around $500 out of the price of the build by not making a removable skirt!!! Yer screwed if they leak, they have to go to a facility to be fixed and you pay removal and reinstall charges which often run to thousands of dollars! add to that the fact that they use the old 2 part jet housing with silicone and that means it's a low plumbing reliability score...

I’ve been told that Masterspa dealers are having trouble with Balboa pumps for hot tubs. Is this real or is it just using Chinese pumps to save money?

I never really worry about what pump a hot tub has, the efficiency is very similar on all brands and the motor reliability again is similar.

How many different hot tubs does Balboa have?
Balboa doesn’t sell hot tubs, but plenty of manufacturers use Balboa parts in their hot tubs. These manufacturers include Essential Hot Tubs, Cal Spa, Artesian, and many others.

We have a Master Spa, four years of heavy use and zero faults. After 5 years of researching hot tubs, we narrowed it down our choice to either Master Spa or Artesian. Biggest issue in the uk now is rocketing energy prices, even the Masterspa with full icynene foam is becoming an expensive luxury, some of our friends have had to empty theirs and turn it off, they simply cannot afford to run it. Worrying times for the hot tub industry in the UK, not sure how the US is being affected.

@@racey1979You can convert your hot tub to run off of solar and it's not that expensive to do.

Hotsprings tubs are expensive junk. Do not buy Watkins products. Buy a Wellis Spa.
