I play drums for very good money and I teach voice. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's like comparing Stephen King to Shakespeare. A comparison he himself would laugh at. I don't even like Shakespeare.
Valera Pepper I'm impressed by the fact I can't stand anything Jack White does and yet I loved Royal Blood from the very first note despite the obvious influence. I like QOTSA, so being hit smack between the hips sits well with me. The one I got straight away that is more subtle is Mike Kerr's vocal delivery has more than a little to do with Jeff Buckley. I thought I was imagining it to be honest until he mentioned it himself.
I like the song alright, but the audio is REALLY awful sounding. For no reason. Either that, or BOTH times I heard it (here and PCRadio) BOTH had a bad copy?? Also, PLEASE have a few decades of playing music publicly for good $$$ before comparing to Led Zeppelin because it makes you sound like you don't know anything about music. At all. This sounds like White Stripes. Or a VERY simplified Led Zeppelin on a bad recording (for no reason). Because one should know how to play Zeppelin 100% accurately before being so terribly wrong. Maybe try some music lessons first. Because I don't know any real musicians who'd make that comparison. It's like comparing Lars to Buddy Rich.
