I think Will is seriously underrated. Love the performance
he'll still be underrated at 10M subs
Also really funny
Is he in training to be a concert pianist or to enter one of those big music competitions. He's far far too good to only be doing this for fun.
He does play well. His playing is very crisp and he doesn’t rely on the sustaining pedal. And his choices are sometimes unique and really makes you pay attention.
Will needs three things to get the notice he deserves.
(1) Better mics, placed better.
(2) A better piano. Apologies, but his current piano is a bit thin. Maybe another crack at voicing the hammers? Maybe someone can lend him a fancy Yamaha (I suspect he might like the tonal separation there), or maybe a C. Bechstein? I know, it’s an unfair comment because it’s such an expensive one.
(3) Shirts.
Ok, I’m kidding with the last one. The hoodies are endearing.
Yes, he is definitely overly underrated. His technique and way of playing is very unique and wonderful.
A senior at my college played this at his final recital. made all the other pianists feel inferior lol. dude was insane
y yo que tengo 15 me la sé xd
My friend, 11 years old is playing this lol
But o guess it’s not just whether or not you can play it, like there’s technique and emotion that maybe older people are better at
@@obviouslyirene8888Still your friend is insane
@@obviouslyirene8888In a good way
"How many octaves would you like?"
Rachmaninoff: Yes.
I absolutely adore this format, it could without a doubt be the next big thing introducing classical music to new audiences. I think a major barrier to potential new listeners is exactly the things you resolve with it: a lack of understanding of form, music theory, the context of the composer, etc. You explaining all these things in a concise, fun and never condescending way not only massively heightens the understanding and thus enjoyment for "non-initiated" people, it also directly contradicts the image that many sadly have of classical music being snobby, too complex to enjoy or purely academic and lacking emotion. There's just enough information to provide context without being overwhelming or too detailed, and your personal commentary is a very welcome touch; you achieve the perfect balance between opinions/humour and useful tidbits to make for very engaging content.
Amazing job on this piece (and all your other videos), I certainly hope you'll keep making them - with time I see you having a Twoset-level impact on the image of classical music! There's definitely a niche to be filled as far as people who want to get into classical music but are overwhelmed by the scale/aren't yet skilled into looking deeper into pieces.
P.S. I'd definitely keep the section guide on the left side, it's very helpful.
Agree with all your comment. And I'd also keep the 'you are here' map. Not only it doesn't distract at all, but it gives a great context.
Maybe the only drawback I find is the position of the comments, which are hidden by the YT bar.
Will, your channel is amazing. Thankyou.
My 15yo is learning this piece atm. I introduced your video to him and I think he’s found it helpful so many thanks Will.
I fully agree with you !
Well said.
Excellent. My sentiment exactly!
Don't know a single thing about pianos or music but, THIS IS THE BEST THING I'VE HEARD SO FAR IN MY 1 DECADE +FIVE YEARS OF LIFE.
This is my favorite Rachmoninoff piano prelude. I'd recommend you listen to his "Prelude in C# Minor" as well though--it may be overplayed but it's incredibly powerful and packed with drama (even for a romantic era piece!)
You should try listening to Rachmaninoff's 3rd concerto! Especially the pianist Yefim Bronfman
heh.the music world is so big.but still, this piece is amazing
Search for rach 2 Cziffra or Chopin ballade in g minor
You KILLED this. Those descending octaves at 3:20 were so sharp! Bravo!
You’re almost there Will!!! Keep uploading AmaAaAZiNg content 👌🏻
haha gotta keep it inTeREsTinG as well ;)

Keep the section marks. They really help! Especially for people who's playing music but don't analyze it.
The first time you have posted a piece I don’t even remotely recognize! Thank you Will for expanding my classical library again! Quite impressive, and your layout and commentary are well done as always. Thank you!!
I don't find your "map" is disturbing because I feel helped and I can understand the music structure better. I love your content! It's interesting to read the subtitle, I always look forward to your classical jokes 😂😂 I can even learn about the music at the same time, you explained the music very well.
Your contents are not boring, and I think these reasons are what make your contents different from the other pianist even tho you both play the same music. Thank you for your hard work, and I will always look forward to your channel! I enjoyed watching this~
P.s. sorry if I made grammar mistakes, english is not my first language heheh 😅😅
keep the section marks
keep up the good work
loving it
The Russians really knew how to make good music
As somebody who is getting into classical music, this format is amazing!!!
Will has to get more popular, hes one of the best pianoplayers on youtube. Will please show us more of your self-composed songs.
This isn't self composed
@@phoenixkellah-nash4351 I don't think they meant the prelude was self composed but they wanted specifically more of Wills pieces, so the demand was not related to the video.
@@aleksPval oh, right, my mistake sorry
@@phoenixkellah-nash4351 all good :)
Rachmaninoff is one of my favorite composer and this is one of my favorite pieces from him! I really enjoyed your interpretation of this piece. I hope to see you play more Rachmaninoff in future! Oh and I liked the "you are here" map. Kept me on track and it can be good for those who are trying to learn it. 😊
The comments and you are here map makes this into a wonderful viewing experience! And i particularly like how you play this piece with such meaning, which is what most recordings of this piece lacks, imo
yeah new video
YESS!! Another upload and WHAT A PIECE!! I love your interpretation
I don't know how you did it, but you made the piano sound like it was underwater during the B section, and then magically made it not sound like that afterwards. I do not understand, but IT WAS SO COOOOOOL!
Gotta love people still playing Russian music today despite the political conflict we’re facing. Art is art. Great performance as usual!
Rach left specificly because of the politics and was quite literally traumatised by it...
@@lerunya17 And Tchaikovsky, from what I heard, lived in constant fear of the Russian government.
@@BenjaminAnderson21 he had Ukrainian roots. One of his ancestors was literally an Ukrainian Kozack whom russians disliked with passion, with a surname Chaika. It's not safe to be a Ukrainian in that forsaken place.
AYYY CHOPIN BALLADE NO. 1 AT 100K!
seriously tho ur one of my favourite yt performers cuz of the text u put
Yeah
I love the format of the form and showing the actual sheet music. The commentary was fascinating and you're talented. Thank you
epic performance i like your voicing in the middle section very much
Willlllllllllll love the performance! Rachmaninoff was famous for depressed pieces. maybe this is less depressed for the audience, but for pianists it seems *painful*
Beautifully played as always. Congrats on 100k subscribers, well deserved!
This was amazing, Will! Incredible performance as always!
Love your posts on UA-cam - so informative and beautiful playing.

Hey Will; this is absolutely incredible! Love your play and presence ☀️
One of my favourite earworms! Once in my head it's difficult to dislodge! So many thanks for this - and for your guide to the different sections of the piece on the left of the screen. It makes viewing a bit more difficult perhaps, but definitely worth the effort. Keep up the good work in expanding the reach of classical music!
I can’t wait for Ballade no 1! Congrats on 100k you deserve it 10x!

Brilliant playing and a great idea to have the form at the side. Much more accessible (especially if you’re unfamiliar with the piece)
Congrats on 100K subs WillsKeyBoardSinks! I’m happy for u and also I learn this tho is pretty hard…
I really like your rendition of this song in particular. I've heard other people play it but yours is so cool!
Great stuff, bloody genius format.

Absolutely brilliant. This guy is a GENIUS. Thank you Will.
Epic. I have been playing this for years. It’s so hard to get it up to speed and keep it clean. Great video!!!! ❤❤❤

You are so incredibly! My favorite pianist to watch on UA-cam
Thanks a lot, these videos are super helpful! Love the map!
I love these videos
That's a really good interpretation, congratulation ! In particular, we hear really clearly the second melody in the middle part, that's really beautilful !
I love this piece and I love the way you play it. There are so many interpretations I don't like but this is just perfect.
I heard this piece exactly once over 14 years ago - only Part A, played live in a shopping mall on a display piano with no idea what the title was or the person playing it. This song has lived in my head with me convinced I would never hear it or find it again. Thank you for bringing this performance to your channel so I finally have the name and playback of it at any time
well done! exited to hear even more awesome performances from you!
Practising this rn and its awesome to play!
Great as always !
At the height of my playing days in college this was in my senior recital. You played it great! Love the commentary, hopefully you plan to do a few more rach preludes, some very interesting pieces.
