This mod reminds me a lot of the “Meta Knightmare” mode from Kirby Superstar Ultra and Kirby Planet Robobot. Playing as a character with a different enough move set to make it unique but still has same core, going through each area level to level in a speedrun-esque fashion with no breaks. Love this! Keep up the work on this cool mod.

this is my first time seeing this mod but it is looking really promising - from the finished moveset for the Vigilante to the little detail in the P rank background although there's some changes I'd make to the superjump sprite, I think you did a really good job on it overall and I'm looking forwards to the full release
it's funny how the vigilante and the noise were the only ones to nearly have a full custom move set but yet they didn't make it to the final cut but remain as a boss but can be still re-activated through debug mode (only for the noise)
It's actually an animation by Mcpig, I think it's just his dynamite jump animation repurposed though. Maybe I'll make him a custom superjump animation in the future.

Whenever I pictured a completed Vigilante, I would always imagine him using his scattergun to propel himself upwards in a similar vein to Cave Story (since he does that in his boss fight). Maybe that could be a super jump replacement.
So a lot of people are saying that Vigi is alike Meta Knight and honestly, I cannot unsee it lol! XD It could may be perhaps that the boots are what reminds me of MK & I could imagine why, along w/ the fair gun duel as resembling to the infamous Galaxia sword duel; as w/ both of them staying a serious facial expression as they both are showing what they are getting their goals across heh Idk what makes characters that have the rule fair fighting so intriguing & different yet so unique but we honestly need more standing out characters like this! ✦ࡇ✦ But all seriousness, the pixel frames into each animation is so good & each taunt is worth a chuckle, I just like every detail of it good job to the mod makers!! (๑✧∀✧๑)
i think the hud should be like the one on the sage build having the tv only as a score counter. i mostly say this becouse it's kinda wierd not having the combo metter under the tv-
Is Vigilante gonna get moves similar to some of his boss attacks? Like maybe the bazooka? If not, I’m still fine with having a properly working playable Vigilante!
He does use his boss weapons during his parry animations and supertaunt animations, but some more moves based on them might be in the works. There was ideas floating around.
Imagine if there was a challenge on every floor and if u beat them all you get new clothes. Also your rank should also be based off of how long it took you to beat it
There actually will be Snick's Challenges for every floor, maybe culminating in a final super one with all the levels in it that will be unranked. Doing the first challenge unlocks Snick, not sure what the others or all of them will unlock.
@@grunch610 I am aware of these fellas, and that might be an option lol. In fact, some of Snicks friends will be showing up and even sometimes playable for his transformations when he becomes playable himself, when he uses the gun transformations for instance he swaps with Shadow Snick.
@@RafaelDavid2009 Snick is indeed coming and he will be playable. Sprites are being made currently, someone even went and made new rank animations for all of his ranks and they're amazing.
How to use each character in Snick's Challenge: Peppino- Speed run every level, use his grab cancel to your advantage. Noise- Always use his jet pack, his bombs can also deal with rats. (I think so) Vigilante-His gun can be used as a sort of double jump, his bombs are also useful for bomb jumping. Snick- He's fast but cannot grab, only useful in John Gutter.
I believe there can be something special with this mod. I can feel like this might make someone think "What if you went through all of the levels in the game"? "Snick's Ultimate Challenge" would be appropriate.
Maybe eventually I'll do it, but it would be a lot of work. Plus, we're planning to have a Snick's Challenge for every floor, so it would be a ton of tiles lol. I would also like it to be different though, so maybe one day.
Imagine if there were 5 different ring types: Onion ring, peach ring, pineapple ring (just use the one in-game), gummy ring (lifesaver), pink frosting donut (like the simpsons)
Since I’m a sprite-nitpicking freak, I’ll point out some issues. A. Vigilante has his old hud, which really clashes with the style. B. The hat on the timer is a little too overshaded and way too stiff. Vigi’s P-rank animation is super jittery, too. His gun is way too cubic, though i do appreciate agonizing task of making rank anims. It’s very good all around
I appreciate the feedback. The P rank animation is the very first thing I tried to make and it is very rough, I will be remaking it at some point. Some of this critique is a bit confusing to me though as Vigilante's hat is explicitly not shaded almost always, as it would mess with palettes, so it really can't be overshaded there. I guess you mean the titlecards? They're also the first thing I did. Hopefully I improve. And the old hud is an optional feature of the mod, I have it on to show it off, and to fit more with these old levels.
Props to whoever did the missing animations for Vigilante, because they fit right in!
