- Who Sang the "I Say A Little Prayer" Climax the Best?
The song has already been re-recorded by several people, making it famous worldwide in the incomparable voice of Queen Aretha.
Which did you like the most?
#ISayALittlePrayer #ArethaFranklin #Divas
Aretha. The Original, the Queen, the effortlessly raw perfection.
I totally agree but Aretha wasn’t original, Dionne was, though I’d consider the two versions completely different songs considering how different the vibes and compositions are
@@tristanity9642 That's what I'm talking about.... I didn't want to mention Dionne's name bc Aretha's version was so bomb, but since you did smh, Dionne was the "first person" recorded it, how about that you low EQ ****.
I dont even believe how much I love aretha , and im just 17
Whitney and Natalie out of this world
Cynthia is so beautiful! She sounds awesome here!
Aretha verdadeiramente atemporal, Dionne 1967 melhor encaixe e arranjo, H.E.R surpreendentemente agradável, Glee energicamente empolgante.
Aretha's soul caught the laid-back vibe of Bacharach so perfectly - it's always been one of my favourite songs. Whitney & Natalie seemed to be praying for victory; Cynthia Erivo's performance was a brilliant piece of dramatic impersonation; but for its youthful insouciance, I tip my hat to H.E.R.
Only HER and Cynthia came correct. This song requires clarity and gentleness not vocal gymnastics. Jessica the worst with NC and Whitney a terrible second.
I know Dionne sung it first and it was beautiful, but when Aretha sung it, she instantly made it her song.and you know Whitney sings everything beautiful.
Cynthia of course 💞
Cynthia Erivo
Funny
1) Whitney Houston and Natalie Cole- It is Whitney after all and two great vocalists Whitney and Natalie (Cannot beat that especially as they rift back and forth...I felt it
2) HER - I loved her interpretation and making it fresh and different.
3) Aretha Franklin- Great sound.. and it is Aretha
4) Cynthia Erivo- Good voice but I must admit I just not fan of hers as a singer acting yes.. don't kill me
5) Jessica Sanchez- Good voice but I was not a fan of the arrangement
Dionne Warwick... will not be ranked, it is her song
So basically you are biased
@@zoltrazor7132 Yes, we all are it will be hypocritical to say personal taste does not play a part in our view point or position. Thanks for recognising the obvious.
If Whitney is in the competition, I’m always choosing Whitney lol
Whitney trash
Of course.... Whitney.....
Really...?
@@yedis1750 anong really? Malamang di lang naman kasi biritan ang basehan, tone, support/resonance at quality kaya yun ang lamang nya to the rest
Aretha
Cynthia
Jessica
Whitney e Aretha ❤❤❤
Vcs concordam?? :)
Aretha
Aretha é imbatível nessa
Aretha franklin
One word, HER
Queeeen cynthiaaaa duhhhh
No one compares to Aretha
welp dionne warwick does in her prime so does aretha they were rivals
Whitney cleared fadretha.
Well I’m biased sooooo Whitney
BUUT lol If she wasn’t in the competition Cynthia then H.E.R.
I think that "I Say a Little Prayer for You" is just a damn good song, no matter who sings it. But I'm going to have to go with the Queen of Soul for who sings it the best. It was her that brought my attention to this song many decades ago.
Dionne warwick first of all runs was kinda better did aretha do the song better yes? did she do the same runs and did she make the song like dionnes? no she did it her own way but tbh dionne kinda had harder songs..
Cynthia
Diana King me gusta mas
Cynthia Erivo!!!
Chintya Erivo Aretha Franklin
Loved Jessica’s sultry voice better!
Lianne La Havas????
Sou incapaz de opinar...
....But my long time idol....Natalie Cole and Whitney SLAYED this! Their stage presence and the way their vocals complimented one another is priceless!!! I LOVE IT!!!
Aretha
CYNTHIA!!!!!!!!!! I love me some Whitney but cyn took this one .
ABSOlUTELY! Listened to Cynthia’s version (short tho) a million times.
HER IS AMAZING!… Aretha is the BEST TIMELESS!… everyone is so good
The sad reality is that y’all are failing to realize that EACH ONE OF THESE PERFORMERS WERE REFERENCING ARETHA’S INTERPRETATION! That buildup is what ARETHA INCORPORATED AFTER DIONNE’S RELEASE! So I’m going with Aretha followed by Whitney and Natalie… not including Dionne because it’s her song… and my list ends there!
So true …Even Whitney was riffing off Aretha’s Cadences … no one sings it like DIONNE
Whitney and Aretha Hands Down😩💋
1. Aretha Franklin
2. Whitney Houston
3. Cynthia E
4. Jessika Sanchez
5. H.E.R
I’m not categorizing Dionne because it’s her song and she’s queen 👑
Its actually Arethas Song but okay😅
@@der_philosoph9068 Its not arethas song. Know your history. Aretha did a cover to it which was more popular. Its not her song.
@@keishawnlight youre right! Im so sorry😅😅
@@der_philosoph9068 I appreciate you owning up to it. I was shocked too when I found out. I always thought it was Arethas. But I was surprised it was Dionne, heck, I was surprised how extremely popular Dionne Warwick was. I am young too so that may be the reason. I am 24.
@@der_philosoph9068 actually It was written for Dione Warrick, by Bacharach.
Aretha
Cynthia
Her
Whitney
I didn't list Dionne since it is her song but this is my order
Aretha Franklin, minha rainha!!!
Whitney e Natalie, melhor segundo lugar
Menção honrosa: H.E.R, criatividade e talento.
Obs.: Dione. Que voz poderosa. Sequer precisa se esforçar
Cynthia is underrated
Dionne ❤️ Whitney❤️ ...I dont know HER but i like her version...
why is Dionne the only one that is older...it is a great version but you couldve use one where she had a little bit more vocal power...
Why would you have music playing over different music? wth??
Bruh😒
We all have our favorites (it began with Dionne) and I appreciate the artistry of each performer. Each one brought their own flavor.
Thank you for sharing a compilation of the beautiful voices of this lovely song. We are so blessed with these great interpretation, that I loved them all. But I sadly missed Ms Franklin, Houston and Cole , may their souls RIP
Quinn and the Chherios from Glee 😀 Ok, no, I'm joking. Dionne Warwick.
Whitney Houston ❤️
cynthia wow
Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole
Only HER and Cynthia came correct. This song requires clarity and gentleness not vocal gymnastics. Jessica the worst with NC and Whitney a terrible second. So It's H.E.R or Cynthia for me. I of course discount the Queen herself as her vocals and timbre are incomparable!!!
Cynthia eviro, dionne warwick, whitney houston
Dionne na versão dos anos 60.
This should be fun….
Right up until 5:18
Dionne forever.
Erivo, Houston, Franklin.
Cynthia Erivo The best
Dionne has the best and the original million selling one
Whitney!!
Aretha the best
tori kelly
ALL OF THEM🙇🏻♂️
Those of us that have lived-it all of these decades .... Aretha and Dionne, of course. There's no disputing that they set the standard for that song.
Aretha is not even in the competition bcuz she is the original! lol
The original is Dionne Warwick
Actually its dionnes song….Whitney not in the competition because shes automatically guaranteed to win. Its Whitney Houston. enough said
Aretha insuperable
Originaly by queen dionne🔥, but the others is great too💯
Sorry not even Whitney had that power young Aretha had. Aretha is the queen of soul for a reason. Her tone, texture, and control decorated a powerhouse unmatched. Please keep in mind in her hay day and vocal prime the sound clarity of recording is nowhere near what it is today; imagine hearing her in person during these times, I'm sure audiences got utter chills every time she uttered a note. Who sang it the best? that's no question, ARETHA FRANKLIN. Who sung it good? that's the question this title should have been labeled.
Dionne Warwick is the best because she's not trying to hit a high note just classic
Lmfaooooooooo I chuckled. go on somewhere….Whitneys The Voice….which is above any monarch title of a particular genre….Whitney can sing anything and everything and better than aretha at that….The fact that you couldnt praise aretha without mentioning Whitney shows who Thee Standard will always be….Whitney Elizabeth Houston…..
@MsWhitneyEFann Whitney is mentioned in my response because she is cited in the video... 🤌🏽 These are two different voices In two different power houses... There is a handicap To comparing the two as I stated the recording quality was far different for Aretha's generation... The recording quality was poor... If I was to compare these 2 I would say on both ends. There's nothing neither one of these two individuals can't sing of each other... Aretha can sing anything hitney could In her prime day...and vice versa... What I'm making clear about this particular performance. Is that if you listen to Whitney? Sing this song compared to aretha hands down It's aretha's song🤌🏽 and NO one sang it better🤌🏽
@@dingram4004 Yeah Ik Whitneys in the vid thats why i watched it…..in regards to your comment….like i said you dont know how to praise somebody without trying to tear somebody else down….its giving insecure…..The thing about Whitney is no matter whos song it is…..Hers or somebody elses….shes delivering it like Mary delivered Jesus and thats on Mary had a lil lamb…..arethas was good but when it comes to Whitney and aretha….Whitney will always win….Even on their duet Whitney won🤣….so go cry a river in detroit.
@MsWhitneyEFann Maybe you should get out of Whitney's ass... I can give my opinion and not be biased unlike you... I never said anything was wrong with Whitney... Re read the original comment about what I said the video should have been labeled... Whitney is my top three of greatest in all time... But unlike you, she understood and respected other artists for what they were capable of doing beyond her🤌🏽 She made that clear with performing with the Other artist like kelly price and brandy.. And made it clear that she was humble enough to hold they surpass her.. Since you love her so much, maybe you should take from her teachings. I'm sure she would agree that this is a Aretha's song and she can't sing it better than her.. But she would be one of the greatest to ever sing it... Learn from your idol and be as humble as she was. That's one of the greatest gifts I loved about Whitney🤌🏽
ARETHA!
Aretha. [EOM]
Era👍
Her maravilhosa ❤️
😍😍😍😍💗💞
Whitney's tone was so pretty. Natalie tried hard to outsing her and sound like a truck driver, 18 wheeler.
2 Gabi Wilson tone
3 Sanchez
Whitney did the best cover, Aretha did the best at making it her own because it WAS her own!
Aretha covered Dionne's song.
Aretha ❤. They all sound beautiful. Diana King’s version was nice too.
Aritha hands down, the queen of soul, everyone else just bow down.
