We Syd drivers are used to not getting anywhere quickly especially in the inner 8 km from the cbd. So we learn to give way to others to keep the mess flowing and get less frustrated
In Melb they’ve had those big city link toll roads for decades. They were used to getting places quickly so as the roads get more crowded and travel times increase so does their frustration.
When I drive in Melb i’ll wave a driver to let them into the traffic and they have no idea what I’m suggesting and they don’t wave thanks after.
That’s a capital offence in NSW.
These travel videos have been a great experience to follow.

I think you should do a travel and experience vlog and go to the Bathurst V8 Supercars race next year

I agree with the driving standards opinion,
I'm orginally from Sydney but moved out to regional NSW.
In nsw in and around sydney sometimes on the motorway network and traffic congestion during peak hour it can be tough for traffic to keep left unless overtaking but most drivers once out of the sydney metro area will keep left unless overtaking and the right lane will tend to be faster than the left.
I feel driving in Melbourne and even regional Victoria is worse than NSW...
speed limits are very enforced in Vic and they have less tolerance % as to how much one can drive over the limit.
Not to mention The speed cameras and unmarked mobile speed cameras they have everywhere in Victoria.
In NSW we have warning signs for our speed cameras...so that should be the answer right there for all the other states.
Your driving standards will improve when you can actually focus on the driving and not be too paranoid about going 1km over the limit like they do in VIC, QLD etc

Thanks for your daily vlogs! Really enjoyed watching you combining cars, family and friends in this series. Love your brother and his wife(?), really nice people. Can we make this a yearly occurrence, maybe next year with Lou? 😛 I must admit I did not watch it every day but I usually combined 2-3 days and then watched them in a row, maybe that could also be a possibility for the future. Is there maybe a PetrolHeads Tour in Australia next year 🥳Thanks also to BMW to support you with all these cars. Would have loved to join the events at the dealerships...sadly sitting here in rainy, cloudy southern Germany

Enjoyed the vlogs... As a point of interest the Sydney Harbour Bridge was designed and steel supplied by Dorman Long Co. in Middlesbrough NE England.

Been driving through Hammersmith (London) a lot recently, I can only describe the driving standards as shocking. As for driving in Australia, Perth and WA in general is pretty good. Less bad traffic and a more chilled attitude must be the reason.
I thought Victoria was ok too, I'm comparing to south London which in my opinion is pretty awful.

Spent the first 35 years of my life in West London, the traffic and road networks are horrendous these days, but the driving standards aren't even close to a typical Melbourne suburb.

Couldn’t agree more about poor driving standards in NSW and Victoria. Yet government organisations seem to think slowing everyone down is the solution instead of improving standards and getting dangerous drivers (including the incompetent drivers with dangerous actions as well as excessive speed for conditions) off the road.

Each state has their own driving laws and rules. Aussies are only taught to pass a test instead of drive a car and no re-testing takes place. No mandated driving school so poor habits from parents get passed on to the next generation.
My dad was a driving instructor in the UK and found it so hard to adjust to tuition in Australia.

The level of driving skill and road knowledge has gone down hill. Over-hesitant drivers are the worst of the lot.
