- “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
As we begin the new year, most of us are looking to the future, and have hopes of a new beginning. In fact, some may very nearly be at the end of their rope, and quite desperate for a new beginning - a going out of the old and a springing forth of something new and wonderful.
When a plant has bloomed and the flowers are past their prime and are dried up, you must pick off the old dead flowers. You can’t leave them there, you have to pluck them off the plant. On a rose bush, if you don’t prune, and cut the dead flowers off, the stem starts to slowly die down the stem. When the old dead flowers are gone, the plant will flourish and grow NEW flowers. When the old is gone, the new can spring forth!
In this message, we have for you instruction on things to do in the coming year to ensure a new beginning, a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
SEEK GOD ABOVE ALL ELSE

TRUST HIM

PRAISE HIM
Psalms 34:1, 95:1-7, 103:1-2, 150:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Let us determine NOW that in the coming year we will . . . seek God in all things, trust Him in all things and praise Him in all things. If we will do this, it will indeed be a very happy new year.
May God bless His people richly in the coming year. May He make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert for all of His people who are ready for a new beginning! Amen! Instead of focusing on resolutions, let’s focus on our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us seek His wisdom, lean on His strength, and trust His plans for our lives. His ways are higher, His peace is abundant, and His love never fails.
Father God in heaven, as we enter this New Year, help us to seek YOU first in everything we do. Teach us to prioritize Your Kingdom and Your righteousness above all else. Align our hearts with Your will, and cause our desires to reflect Your perfect plan for our lives. Thank You, Lord, for your precious promise that when we seek You above all else, You are faithful to provide all that we need. Guide us, we pray, through this year with Your great wisdom and fill our hearts with Your peace. In Jesus’ precious Name we pray, Amen.

If you start to want to return to God, He is drawing you. He will not turn you away.
Seek God above all else.
