i have a question when u number the degree of freedom if we refer to hibbler book it number the unknown first then the known start with moment up till last unknown moment and then followed by vertical un known why after u number the unknown moment u named the known moment
......however,you can simplify the system applying symmetry by taking a portion of the beam, better to say, half of the beam, the reason is that the slope is zero @ middle span therefore you can introduce a fix restrain to it now reducing a 25x25 martix to 13x13 one, read and think it over.....
Guys there are 11 videos of this example, think twice :( Hey Simmy Sigma, could you please write videos like "1/11"? At the beginning i saw 4 videos and now im at 6th. There are 5 more videos too.
waste of time. not only he goes extremely, and very unnecessarily slow, i watched this plus the next video hoping to learn something, but all i learned was on the diagonal of matrix it must be not negative number and really that is all (and of course they didnt tell why). does nothing to explain how the values in the matrix is obtained. does coloring of restrained unrestrained which i never seen elsewhere plus they dont tell why exactly. does nothing to show us the logic behind anything. the things they explain in this plus the half of next (i could stand up to half of next and closed it, having wasted 25 minutes of my time), could be explained in a 2 minute video also.
What is the point of this video ?? EVERY structural analysis book in the whole universe has the stiffness method !! And ALL students in structural engineering learned it !
I would recommend this one that I have and is great Structural Analysis: A Unified Classical and Matrix Approach (Spon Text) by Amin Ghali (Author), Adam Neville (Author), Tom G. Brown (Author)
Somebody wants to learn from UA-cam videos rather than books as they dont have detailed sign conventions .. so videos are much more useful than books if they are really authentic
How to do you get different values in that matrix like in first row first column its 4 EI /L next to it is 2 EI/L so how do you find those value ?
How did you get that table? What table is that (left bottom)?
would you please explain how you formed that table?
Really good example and tutorial from you, I really hope to see how to find the reaction of frame using stiffness method. Would you please?
you have been around for a while

can you explain the formation of the table down there??

Thanks mate, next time and you make it ever more longer than it has to be? I have all the time in the world, thanks.
Could you please do an example on the frames as well?
what kind of software were you using to make this leacture.
How did u get that matrix values actually

you could've at least mentioned the link for the video you mentioned on how'd you solvd for the values for the matrix.
First thing first. Which book to refer for this method.
"it was a very bad day for me" hahaha dont forget the negative sign guys
How to calculate S11, s12... Nd how to name it.. Nd identify..??
why aren't there any horizontal values? I thought there are because it is fixed
There aren't any axial forces, forces in the horizontal plane, and therefore there aren't any horizontal values. Sum(Fx)=Ax=Ex=0.
How did i get here and what is this ... i'm espcape the matrix
next time pick a more complicated longer example and make the video in 60 parts cheers
i actually lol-ed
you need some help with this problem.......

would you recommend any decent text books?
I would recommend this one that I have and is great

Awesome! Much appreciated.

Bakawas video
Horrible explanation
