I got to see this play last month right at the globe. Different cast of course and I loved it!! The actors and actresses added in their own flare of the characters without deviating from the script. Wonderful performance! Wish I had it on video :)
I saw this while I was in London and Orlando was played by a woman (Bettrys Jones). Rosalind was played by a man (Jack Laskey) and her cousin was played by a very talented deaf actress (Nadia Nadarajah) who's expressions were so vivid and her singing so clear, that with only minor assisting speaking parts from her cast members she was able to fully get across her lines. Her speech at one important part of the show was out loud. In contrast, the deaf actress (Sophie Stone) playing Jaques said all her lines aloud, and signed her speech at the end. It all made the play very interesting and silly, and my mother, who had never seen the show almost fully understood it, so good job to The Globe on their performance.
