  • Aprilia and reliability do not typically go hand in hand. How has reliability been on the RS 600? I share an update on what has been going on with my RS 660 and why I am not currently riding it! This is part 2 of the update, after I heard back from the dealer.

    Dude you are an absolute life saver (hopefully) 🤣 I’ve been dealing with a slight oil leak for a few weeks now coming from two engine bolts and I’ve been scared to take it in because 1. I fear the full SC project/ UpMap will void any kind of warranty 2. Last time I had it in for the major oil leak they had it for 3 months waiting on a gasket from Italy. I could almost tighten the clutch cover and the flywheel cover bolts with my fingers they were so loose and that’s exactly where the oil was coming from so Im praying that’s all it was! Never would of thought it’d be something sooooo simple , thank you my friend your videos are much appreciated 👏🏽

    I have a 2022 RS660 and a couple months ago I found oil all around my sump pan lower engine areas. I was worried but started off by torquing all bolts to spec on the oil sump pan and clutch cover and that did the job. I've been riding hard for a couple months without any issues. Love my bike, but these parallel twin engines vibrate a lot and are vulnerable to screws coming loose. Just yesterday my side mirror bolt fell completely off. I'm thinking I need to put loctite on every bolt as a solution.

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  10 місяців тому +1

      Glad that solved the issue for ya! And yeah, I think Aprilia knew what they were doing when they put loctite on a lot of bolts/nuts 😂 It's just such a hassle for when you need to take something off

    Thank you for the update.
    When you were first told they can't proceed further, did your heart skip a beat?
    Did they specify exactly which bolts were loose?
    Curious to know how the bike runs with the next tune.

      Oh for sure! At that point I was like "can't proceed further....because the engine is done for??" Didn't get to speak to the repair tech, but service guy said he believed it was the engine case bolts

    Like aprilia specially the rs v4. But so expensive. Whats your advice like planning to buy rs660 or zx6r. Love the rs660 but is it true that there’s alot of issues about the brand? And how about the maintenance?

    This isn’t well documented but after they updated your ecu and reverted back to the stock tune could they still see an overwrite log on the ecu from the flash and does it even matter at all since it technically says aprilia race tune or is it just entirely dependent on how good your relationship with your dealership is if that even matters to considering the manufacturer will ask ? It would have been nice to have that process documented.

      @SK_XIII one thing I noticed is normally I just plug the upmap to do an update, when bike is off. And then take it off before rising. For contact I have full mivv exhaust, and gp shift with tune from upmap.
      One day I decided to leave the up map device pluged in the bike to see what data you can see that it provides on app.
      And I noticed straight away that the quickshifter auto blipper no longer works when the upmap is in the bike and riding.
      Moment I took it out and started bike it worked again

  • @Skitzo00
    @Skitzo00 6 місяців тому

    The quickshifter issue is actually really common. My tuono does it all the time. basically you "botched" the first shift and just need to cycle the key for 30-60 seconds

    I heard something about a recall where Apriia were actually replacing engines and restarting customers warranties. Something to do with con rods I think.

    I don’t know if your UpMap was from Gabro… But you should upload his tune regardless of what exhaust you run. It definitely unlocks everything and gives you 100% of what the bike is supposed to give you. Highly recommend!

    Bought a tuono 660 factory in 22. I got all the classic problems.
    1.) Non diluted coolant burning the tube due to the heat
    2.) Oil leak due to loose bolts
    3.) glitchy dashboard during fast acceleration/bumpy roads
    4.) the GP shift glitch. (Basically if you shift too early/bad while the bike is cold it randomly punches you in GP shift(Red) and you have to shut off engine in Neutral and wait like 5min)
    The fact you cannot disable this is mindboggling.
    5.)Cam chain rattling cold start. Very prominent in cold ambient temps. It rattlings so fucking hard LOL. Takes from 5-25min to settle depending on ambient temp/engine temp.

      @@SK_XIII i still have the bike. All the 2023 models are supposed to have fixed these issues. Thus people like us who bought models from 2021 and 2022 are simply at "fault" for buying a new model that didnt go through the ringer (Real life testing).
      The only reason i assume japanese bikes dont have these issues is because for almost a decade or more , they dont change anything.
      All that said we aprilia owners , own one not because its the most reliable bike.
      We buy it because of the brand,style and power.
