Great session here with Dusty, and also his visit to the booth during the game. What a humble guy, great storyteller, with a wonderful personality. Well deserved honor for him as a Legend of Dodger Baseball, and don't make him wait, just put him in the Hall of Fame next year.

This is the problem with you bums, you guys don’t even have faith in the team. Encourage the team, don’t bring them down and try to find a scapegoat as always when things don’t go according to plan. It’s an up and down process that’s how life works, it’s not always rainbows and sunshine.

To prefer Dusty over Doc doesn't necessarily means someone only wants the rainbows and sunshine, or a lack of knowledge about the ups & downs of the process. It's not about finding a scapegoat which, btw, might not be a "scapegoat" but a real reason of why things don't go accordingly, it's about people saying they have more faith in someone being the manager instead of someone else. The fact that someone thinks differently from you doesn't grant you the neither the truth nor the reason.

He said himself, he was a good player not a great player and only great players deserve such honors. No disrespect to Dusty, I was a teenager when he played and as a lifelong Dodger fan I loved him as a player. Just my honest opinion.
I always thought it to be very strange that he never managed the dodgers, Even managing the very good teams in SF.

If you lower the bar and invite a lot of guys, it cheapens the privilege of being in this exclusive club. I remember David Freese got invited to be in similar club for the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans were dumbfounded. I mean to consider Freese with HOF greats like Albert Pujols, Ozzie Smith and Stan Musial
