Thx Denis. Scopes have long been stigmatized as big money tools that only the shop geek could operate. We both know that in this day and age, nothing could be further from the truth. I honestly believe products like this have the potential to redefine “basic tools” that should be in every Techs box. The challenge is in changing perceptions. Credit to Fnirsi for producing a tool that takes simplification to the extreme. Cheers Denis. Hope all is well 👍
Thx Matt. Simple memory joggers work well for me, perhaps others may find it useful. In re-watching the video maybe I harped on a wee bit too long on that analogy. Oh well…Repetition is the Mother of retention, I’m told 🤣 Cheers M8 👍
Yeah no worries. I hate technicians pretending they’re some kind of super tech because they have a scope. There’s no magic, just another tool. Thx again for watching 🍻
I'm a auto tech getting into scoping, these videos have been amazing! Using this before I get a U scope & a Pico. Keep up the great work, videos have been very helpful. I look forward to more scope content!
Just bought one of these with the added extras. I need it for testing reset signals on vintage commodore computers. I appreciate its very limited in what it can do but hopefully it will do enough to do the job I need it for.
The reason I'm showing voltage is less than the battery was that the full scale display of the instrument was less than the voltage you were attempting to measure. It was showing the maximum voltage you could measure with that sensitivity setting.
No zoom or pause. The trace can be held on screen only via the “Stop” function. “Zooming” is only possible by selecting amplitude & timebase settings pre-capture. But I think these limitations are acceptable in a $20 scope. Thx for watching. 🍻
I bought one to test the low res pulse on a 1995 lt1 opti spark , how do i know whick lead to use. It uses a .5 volt reference. Appreciate your videos they are great , i know very little about these scopes. Thanks.
Ground the black lead, red lead to the contact you’re interested in capturing a trace from. If the amplitude you’re expecting is only 0.5V, start with 2V volt & 20ms scaling that should get you an image. Adjust voltage & timebase to optimize the trace as required. Good luck & thx for watching 🍀🍻
@TheGibby3340 Thank you for your time , I was able to see the opti is working. My issue is the fuel injectors are being pulsed be the PCM , but they are not spraying fuel. Fuel pressure is good , injectors are new. I'm able to click injectors manually with a 9v battery and jumper lead. I think the fuel cut off side of the VATS will not allow the injectors to spray. Someone already pit a resistor in the starter engage side of VATS but the BCM and PCM are not allowing the injector side of VATS to spray. Only option is to have VATS remover totally from PCM. Thank you.
@TheMrmmkkpro I have no idea of the architecture of the system you are working on,but…Most systems are ground side switched. Make sure the power side voltage is present. Also load test the line with a reasonable wattage test light, if the supply circuit is compromised (high resistance) it may not carry required current to operate the injectors. 🍀🍻
Thx for watching. The DSO-152 (in this video) doesn’t have a signal generator. The DSO-153 (about $20 more expensive) does have signal generation facility. I think peak output voltage is 3.3V. There is a couple of brief comparison videos of the 2 models on the channel if you’re interested.🍻
Nice overview. Wondering why the line is jittery if this is a DC battery. Is the device picking up stray RF? … or related to the duty cycle turning on & off, therefore showing a voltage drop.
the most basic instruction on the most basic oscilloscope
there is a need for this and good on you Ian for trying to fill it

More or less space to the fence, that is a really useful way of remembering it. Cheers

Thank you for the clear explanation. All clear so far…
Thanks for watching 🍻
Nice! Step by step training is the best way of learning imo. 😀
Small digestible servings 😁 Thanks for watching 🍻
Thank you for teaching us this ! Learning the fundamentals makes the rest easier to grasp !!

Thank you very much. Greatly appreciated 🍻
Thank you before this vid i used this oscilloscope to tune my amp and didn't get good result. After you explained how to use it, im in heaven!
Thx for watching 🍻
Mark Wallace, can you explain what to do, and what not to do? I’m about to use this for my amp to set gains
@@damon323 I would need to go get refreshed. Have you gotten the basics of the unit down?
@ From watching these videos I have. I just got it delivered today but haven’t messed with it yet

For the money it’s a great little rig. Thx for watching 👍🍻
Excellent explanation. This is very helpful. Thankyou.
Thx for watching 👍🍻
I just bought this. No instructions. Sure glad l found your channel. Thank you
Thanks very much. Good luck with your new scope. 👍🍻

Thx & thx for watching 🍻
Brilliant! Thank you!
🍻👍
Love that 20v/20mS tip. I did a crank and int/exh cam corelation with my hantek 1008 and 20mS gave me the capture i needed👍
It’s easy to recall and a pretty good automotive starting point. Thx for watching 🍻
Been waiting for this instalment and Thoroughly enjoyed it thanks for taking the time looking forward to the next episode 👍
Thank you Sir. Greatly appreciated. And thx for watching 🍻
Thanks for the lessons, I just bought the DSO TC3 and now I know how to use it.👍
Basically the same rig. Thx for watching.
Nice video can you please explain when we should use ac coupling and when dc coupling in circuit testing

Back to basics info explained in simple language. Good stuff.
Thx. And thx for watching 🍻
Good hints.

Looks equal to the aes uscope. They want close to 200 for a one channel scope.
I honestly don’t know the U-scope specifications. It always seemed grossly overpriced IMO. 🍻
Can you pause the capture and zoom in after or not supported function

Nice job explaining 👍

Thanks so much, you re very informative when it come to your teachings .. Yahweh blesses you
Thx for watching 🍻
This is very usefull mate. Thank you.
Can this fnirsi device also do signal generating outputs for testing sensors like temperature or ABS etc.

Understood
Il check out the video of the 153
Thanks mate

Not certain to be honest. Maybe just the limitations of a $20 product 😁 Thx for watching 🍻
Can this detect the positive /negative sides of audio capacitors?
Sorry not familiar with that scope application. Thx for watching 🍻
Thank u I just got mine n I couldn't understand it now I do
Thx for watching 🍻
great iformatio .Tha ks
