Thank you for sharing your expertise. Your video was clear and to the point. Well done and thanks again!
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Wow this was very informative. Thank you so much!
I am glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Thankyou for the video. Can you put vapor barrier plastic over face insulation.
Depends on the location of the insulation.
Nice work what gap do u leave between sheets sorry if u mentioned in video, sadly im only dealing with 2x4s
Roughly 1/8in. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍
Nice Job! Starting same thing now. What size nails ( Pennysize x Length) did you use. Thanks
Anything that is 1/8in thick will work. Hope that helps.
Should I add another 2x4 to the stud where the osb boards meet? I'm not sure if its necessary or not, but it seems like nailing in two boards on one stud would be tricky.
You shouldn't have too as long as you are 16" or 24" OC. It will work out fine. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Are you using galvanized nails for going into pressure treated wood? I think I would screw in the osb so I can easily remove in future.
Yes, galvanized nails for the treated lumber. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
I agree that screws are a better way to go! I’ve built several garages over the years and change is inevitable! When you need to add a wire or supports for a particular addition, it’s so nice to remove screws and make changes! But just my opinion. Really enjoyed the video!
Great video. Don’t you need a vapour barrier over the insulation ?
The paper on the insulation is a vapor barrier. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Curious why you are facing out with the smooth side. I know it’s easier to paint but isn’t it easier with the rough side out with the lines on the osb? I am doing my walls and subfloor with the same boards and was wondering which side to face out.
I just wanted the walls and ceilings smoother looking. Would have been easier if the lines were out though.
Just learning here but I don't quite understand why these are not installed vertically and then the butt seems are screwed directly into the 2x4.. again just a novice. Also is it the smooth side that faces in? I'm wanting to paint for kids playhouse
I laid them horizontally for 2 reasons. Less noticeable expansion and contraction on the long length of the walls. 8ft vs 4ft runs. My ceiling is 12 feet. I might have gone vertical if I had 8 ft ceilings, though. Depending on the length of the wall. I was running a 56 ft run on that long wall. Next is cosmetic because I will be covering all expansion joints with 1x4 trim boards. On the 12ft walls, I think that looks better in the pattern I installed. On a 8ft wall vertical might look better because there would be no horizontal middle trim boards. I will do a follow-up video on what mine looks like soon. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
What made you install the OSB in a horizontal way instead of vertical? Regardless, nice job.
I installed it horizontally because I have 12 ft ceilings and with each OSB board being 4ft wide it made my installation a little easier. My 6x6 frame posts are every 8 feet so I knew the ends would have plenty of bite when I fastened them. Plus I had a trim board design in mind that I wanted for when I got it finished. If you haven't seen my newest video I just started painting the OSB. Here is a link if you are interested in saying what it looks like now: ua-cam.com/video/vfmdgOL3fB0/v-deo.html - Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍
@JustinsProject That makes so much sense. Thank you for teaching us, and we will definitely watch the painting video.
Which Osb thickness do you use ? Thank you
7/16 inch OSB. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
How do you finish the edges between the panels? Thx
I used 1x4 pine boards for the trim. Here is a video I did on the lower section. ua-cam.com/video/0dTTFF6l0yI/v-deo.htmlsi=AazuIwJFkU7bp0AV I have a playlist on other topics if you are interested in those also. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Are you printing the smooth side?
Yes, at some point, I will get to paint it. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Man, just cut a little template out of wood or cardboard or something that matches exactly the size and shape of the outlet. Then put the X of that laser right on the screw hole in the center of the outlet. Set the board up to the wall where you're going to put it, then put the template right on the laser X and trace round it. Move over to the next outlet and repeat. You can mark the paper where the laser was before you move it so you can put it back if you want. Or just put the board up to the line you marked.

Just use EMT it is a garage. If you need to add a plug just run more EMT. It works even better if the sub panel is surface mountain
Are you getting any help? How are you going to do the ceilings?
I am a lone wolf. It's only me, and I do have a few tricks on how to install these sheets on a 12-foot ceiling by myself. I will probably share them with you guys in some upcoming videos. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Impressive! That’s a lot of work and it looks great so far. Ok, will wait for it!
I'm about to do my 24x30 garage in OSB. Bought a gyprock lift for doing the ceiling.
Hey boss

Yaa, someone knows the difference between plumb (vertical) and level (horizontal).
