No Camera, no espi break out (it's an add on), no filtration, no lidar, HUGE holes at the back of the chamber for fans (this thing is never getting to 55C chamber temp) If this came out three years ago I would be impressed.

The side load filament and storage is nice. But this doesn't do anything that most people with machine already with buy this.
@@jaydub308 They also made a shot at the idler bearing replacement at 4:21. Becasue bambu lab wont let you replace idler bearings without 1st purchasing a $300 sub assembly.
Work Area to small. We need printer with big workspace and multi heat zones in the bed. and only on x axis linear rail and on y axis only cheap bearing not good for that price. Its prusa you pay 60% for the name and 30% in hardware.
@belakulcsar wdym They have offered upgrade kits for every printer since before the Mk2, and the Mk2 was my first printer, so theoretically I could have upgraded it to a Mk2s, upgraded that to a Mk3, to a Mk3s, etc all the way to this one that came out 8 years later. realistically, I didn't do this. I bought a new Mk4 kit when they came out, and uograded it to a Mk4s, which I plan to uograde to a Core when they become available... but its still cool that I could have kept upgrading the same printer.
This is just complete insanity. I love Prusa. I love their philosophy. Their printers. Everything. Currently having a MK3S from 4 years ago, never had any major issue and it runs absolutely fine. In case there will be a need for a second printer, I will absolutely buy this thing. Thank you for your great work.
@@DELTAWC909 because they sat back for so long while companies seemed to pop out of nowhere and offered a more feature packed, and better printer for less. Then Prusa rushed out the Mark 4, which didn't seem like a big upgrade from the 3, with some issues that hurt their reputation for being the top brand in the consumer space. But I am a big supporter of Joseph and his team for all they;ve contributed to the space. Just was worried for a little that they couldn't catch up the the Chinese market offering at the same price point.
@@Jm47A1 My XL is happily printing away waiting for it's little brother. This will not replace what my XL can do but will be welcome addition to my collection of Prusa printers.
I really like the touch on the panel G28 -> M84. For those who don't know: G28 Performs homing, something that's done just before the print starts. M84 Disables the motors, something that's done once the print's finished. Kudos to the designer who came up with it:)
I love the quote that he uses here at 4:00: "Every machine that we make is also a machine we are going to use in our own manufacturing." It says a lot about the company's values to the customer as the company becomes a customer of their own product, ensuring the company shares the same values. Really would love to get this one day and upgrade from my humble Ender 3.
Honestly, the best feature of any Prusa printer is the support. Second is that the Prusa 3D respects its clients and users. No forced connectivity, individual parts available, no forced obsolescence. I may chose other devices for various reasons, but I will always tip my hat to you, and seriously recommend Prusa printers due to what I've stated before. Edit: Wait, what? MK4 can be turned into CoreXY? Okay, respect.
Okay? Don't get me wrong, i love Prusa. But ... back in the days, as i bought my MK2S, the MK3 released while I was waiting on my shipment. Absolutely NO chance, that we can do something here. So at the time my MK2S arrived, it was already "old". So I bought the Upgrade-Kit to MK2.5. And in 2 years - also with the support - we can't figure out why not a single downloaded model from thingiverse or any other site printed to fit together on this printer. Something that you have to snap together, or little drawers or something else. Nothing fits, the tolerances from the downloaded models were "too tight" for my printer. And now I send EVERYTHING to my X1C and all fits together perfectly. This was my Story with "Support" :) All together it was a very frustrating time ... and experience.
"No forced connectivity, individual parts available, no forced obsolescence.", that is hardly unique to prusa. Other companies offer spare parts for their printers and I don't know of any consumer printer company that is forcing obsolescence, most printers with connectivity have the option to use it without or use a local mode too. Liking a company is fine but don't make incorrect statements or imply things about other companies.
@@conorstewart2214 BBL recently took some heat online for asking a customer with a broken XY bearing to replace the entire XY gantry, that might be what they're referring to - prusa being a much more open company makes them easier to repair in general.
@@conorstewart2214 You're right that technically bambulab doesn't force connectivity, but they still shove it down your throat. Their slicer always resets to the network-based feature when I start it no matter how often I switch to the gcode export.
Time has proven that Prusa makes awesome products. The name Core sounds great. As usual, it has a sleek design, solid performance, and tons of features that make it a real game-changer. Definitely a top-notch addition to the Prusa lineup, great job!
@@Design_no Try reaching out to their support, you might get it sorted right away. I’ve had the MK4 since spring, and it’s been running almost non-stop. Works perfectly just turn it on and it goes! :)
It's not a game changer. It's only advantage over Bambu's is that you can hack the hardware, if you're into that. But that costs a premium. If you just want to print and don't care about 3d printers as a hobby this offers nothing.
Was literally days away from ordering a Bambu x1c. It's an objectively fantastic printer but my main hangup was lack of open source and repairability. I think this is finally the printer that checks all of the boxes I wanted, AND with the open source ecosystem of Prusa 😍 Thank you for your hard work
FWIW, the X1c is a nice printer. I own 2, with 2000+ hours on each. They've been very reliable: a few clogged nozzles and one worn out extruder motor. I am looking at the Core One as a replacement for my X1s when they finally give up the ghost. And by then Prusa will have flushed out any bugs and production hiccups.
You sound like you work for Prusa. Because your reasoning seems a little off. Why would you pay €300 more for a printer which will be delivered in a couple of months (if you're lucky). Where the only benefit is having a heated chamber? EDIT: It doesn't even have a heated chamber, it's an Active Chamber Temp Control. Meaning it will just blow out the hot air.
@@glp.1337 "only benefit". If you print anything but basic PLA/PETG this is very important if you want quality. Also he mentioned OpenSource which is very important to support for us as a community. BTW I don't own or use any product by Prusa. 🙂
@@mihedas People like to complain about the cost to upgrade a Prusa plus the cost of the original printer (not saying you were complaining, looked more like you were poking fun at the OP). But Prusa never says you have to buy their upgrade kits. I have 2X Mk3S+ printers and no plans to upgrade to Mk4, Core, etc. Maybe 3.5 for the input shaping if I don't decide to just put Klipper on them. Honestly in most cases it probably makes more sense to buy the later model outright, and sell the old one or keep it as a second printer (even though I have a Voron 2.4 that I love, I still print plenty of things on my Prusas). But there is in this instance at least one case scenario where the upgrade makes a lot of sense... If you bought a Mk4S, and were planning on buying Prusa's enclosure for it, then getting the Core upgrade instead is a no-brainer. Whatever your choice, it is refreshing in this day and age of disposable products, that we have a company like Prusa offering that choice.
@@netpackrat I agree being able to upgrade and not have to throw things away is a good thing. But i think selling your old printer and then buying the new kit is almost always the better choice, you'll even save some time because you won't have to disassemble the entire thing. If there was a path to convert an old mk2/3 to the core then that would make more sense in my eye, the MK4 is so recent that it seems like wasted money to upgrade it.
@@GeorgeGraves What are you talking about? It's less than half the price ! (a bot? was stating a ridiculous few dollars difference, where it's in reality HUGE) Only thing they could work on price-wise is assembly cost. How is it THAT expensive? I know at least 10 engineers with weekly wages similar to the price difference. It might be Prusa's way to force end user to learn about the machine they are gonna use and actually profit there, but still... makes the kit even better deal for me :D
Honestly? I don't think so... It would have likely prevented them from redesigning it as rigorously, as they would have needed to, in order to keep up with BL... I'm sure there are a bunch of people happy about it, but OBJECTIVELY it must have hurt the Core One, because it will have taken away some of the more extreme changes they COULD have made. (And arguably NEEDED to make, to not get ROLLED by Bambu Flagship in couple of months...) So I very much agree that it's "cool", 100%!!! But I also think it's basically bound to turn out as the wrong choice, with hindsight...
@@RegularOldDan Same issue here - definitely want a Core One, have no idea where to put it because my current stock Prusas are perfect and I have no reason to get rid of them.

Fully enclosed, open source, modable, prusa quality, AND price competitive to Bambu? It may finally be time for me to purchase an official Prusa printer. Well done yall!
How is it price competitive with Bambu? It will cost exactly the same as a an X1C WITH an AMS and the core one only has single color. I don't know what an MMU costs but it's also arguably a worse filament changer. I Love Prusa printers and I don't own a Bambu but Prusa is getting murdered on price.
@ having done multicolor printing in the past, it isn’t worth the waste imo. But personally the features and customization makes up the difference pretty well. Plus not having to have network for updates
@@14768 outside of current black Friday deals it is competitive. The X1C with AMS is typically $1,499 and without it is $1,199 The MMU is actually technically a better filament changer in practice but the AMS is more consumer friendly. Not trying to be a Prusa Fanboy as I own both printers but I wouldn't dismiss Prusas quality by any means.
Great news for the 3d printing community. Finally Prusa is back and looking into the future. I love that the printer looks shiny and professional on one side, but on the other it still uses those orange 3d printing materials which give it a DIY vibe - as where are their roots. That's why I always loved Prusa designs much more comparing to raw and souless feel of "some" of the competitors
@@backtoearth1983 its not about operating a door, it is about how it doesn't open very wide which makes working in the printer more difficult than in could be.
Even just making the door reversible so you can put the hinge on the other side would be a big improvement. Just being able to reverse the door would make a big difference but having it open wider would be a good thing too.
oh my god, i can see so many reasons why this was worth the wait. You are still #1 even if you don't have the highest market share. So much keeps you above the rest. e.g. MMU, 5x toolchanger, updates for old printers, upgrades for old printers to new printers (you make reprap so proud!), steadfast transparency, focus on support, security and repairability even when i'm sure it makes the margins tough. Could not imagine a world without you
I'm the happy owner of an X1C, but seeing this makes me very happy. Competition is essential. Each printer company has their own advantages and lets us choose what works best for our needs. :)
As a Prusa XL user (also happy about it), thank you for that comment. In a UA-cam space where I read too many comments trying to get people in one side or another and starting fights about which option is "objectively better", this is refreshing to read.

Due to the all steel construction, if the reviews show it lives up to the claims, this will be my next addition to a small print farm for printing engineering materials. I love how prusa has just been gradually filling the role ultimaker took on earlier as the most reliable affordable printer. Both started at around the same time, but where ultimaker seemed to start as an expensive but easy to use machine, and then evolved to business prices with not much innovation, prusa started almost as cheap as you could get, and is evolving to a much better version of what ultimaker started as.
With the recess on both sides, it would have been cool to see a dual nozzle one extruder printer by default, most of us don’t necessarily want to print in multiple colors but need different support material or do a dual material print, it would have been an extraordinary feature bought back to consumers
Exactly. This was also my first thought when I saw this feature. Having in mind what Prusa Guys are capable of I am sure we will not have to wait too long for their "hold my beer" moment 😁

Same here I will be paying attention and maybe once my kid wants to start print I can give them my A1 mini and replace it with this.
How wonderful to see some respectful comments from BBL-people! Love it! :-)
We need Prusa to compete with Bambu so both companies can drive better innovative designs for their users.
100% agreed - competition drives the market forward.
Now to see what Bambu releases in the next couple of months
I started years ago with Prusa then build a small Prusa print farm. I have now moved to a small X1 Carbon Print Farm...less machines because they are so fast. I am SO glad to see Prusa come out with this machine. More competition in this space is great for us all! I don't need this printer but I am tempted to buy one just because I started with Prusa :)
I was literally shopping to order a 3D printer today, and this gets announced. Boom, pre-ordered.
And out of the blue, Prusa strikes directly into Bambulab heart. Well done Josef, I can't wait to have the Core 1 available to purchase.
Very nice! and a competative price, Unfortunetly I already bought an X1C.
I have always printed PLA with the doors closed on my 4 enclosed machines and never had an issue!
Yeah this printer seems a few years too late
We don't have tbe same definition of "competitive prices"
Bambu has blown the game of price vs quality, Prusa only relies on its name and previous reputation
@@xFlowXxXyou can't deny the tried and true reliability of prusa
@@xFlowXxXWell not anymore. This printer looks on par with the competition.
@@xFlowXxX It doesn't rely on stiffing workers safety and pay by exploiting chinese labour laws.
It also has an upgrade path beyond "dump the old one in a landfill and buy a new one".
Awesome design, looking forward to seeing some independent reviews!
Keep up the good work, Happy Printing!
I love the design philosophy of Prusa of maintainability and upgrade-ability. They're always easy to repair and modify. And, if you can't print the part, replacements are usually cheap and/or off-the-shelf components that are easy to source as opposed to highly custom, proprietary parts. Also, the simple design of the printers makes it understandable for newbies to modify on.
I've had a i3 for about 3 years. I built it and I love the way it just works flawlessly. Totally reliable! I have literally done nothing to it except lubricate the slides since it was purchased new from Prusa. I've been seriously thinking about an upgrade and must admit was looking at the competition. I'm so happy this has just been released. Thank you Prusa. This will be my next printer! I'm never getting rid of my i3 though!👍
The GPIO-Board is huge. Making modding easier is always great.
Am gonna make it so a car horn tots every time a print gets done.
@@sweede2572 Great. Place the horn in the neighbors house and make it so that the only option to turn it off is to reload the machine. Infinite printing with zero labor cost. Awesome! 🤣
Excellent, this is just what you needed to do! The pricing is very competitive too and honestly it looks like a no-brainer for printing ABS due to the easy servicing and easy connection to a negative pressure system.
You really need to setup a local distributor and assembler in the US to take advantage of the coming China sanctions.
@@radicalbyte PrintedSolid is assembling MK4’s in the US.
Can't wait to get mine in 5 years.
Says it ships in January on their site. No idea how reliable their estimates are though.
@Vandel212 I was one of the first to buy an XL, and it took over 3 years for them to deliver it. It seems they are trying to bury the XL for the monumental flop it was.
@@jmsether Oof, I hope they can deliver on their promise this time. (pun intended)
@Vandel212 same, I am dumb and bought the core one. So I hope it ships on time. If this printer performs as advertised I might upgrade the shop.
@@jmsether That's what I'm thinking. My farm uses all Ender 3 S1 Pro's. This would be a huge upgrade if I can manage to get my hands on some.
I really can't wait to order the kit to upgrade my MK4S!!!
PRUSA one day, PRUSA always!!!
Nice! Now I'm not worried about Prusa anymore. Great job!
I was about to buy a mark4s and now it looks like im getting the core one!
you could even get a Mk4s now (wait for Black Friday) and then upgrade it to a Core in march
MK4S doesn't seem to make much sense to buy now.
Same!
I would say same, but I’m waiting for Black Friday to see what the mk4s ends up being. I only intend to print plain PLA but need a large build volume
and it will still truly be something you will never utilize to it's full capabilities. 😂
sooooo, smaller than the P1 and X1 series and is late the game and the same price as them without the AMS.
It can do colors with the MMU3, yes but still at the same price...
What am I missing that makes it any different?
I have never been interested in a Prusa, as I am a die hard DIY and Creality guy. But today I am extremely interested in getting a Prusa.
Prusa user since 2017, Bambu has been better to me in recent years.
@@stopcreepingyouweirdo hate bambu
Having used many of both, bambu is still light years ahead of prusa. I 100% believe prusa NEVER would have made this if bambu didn’t steal the whole market by actually innovating. This is prusa playing catch up realizing you actually have to make dramatic innovations and not just little new parts here and there.
@@elrictraver8275for no reason. Bambu blows prusa out of the water lmao
@@elrictraver8275 Any reason or you just like to be mad?
Thank you! I will buy one of these in the near future. I’ve been waiting several years for your new Core XY machine.
