I was the victim of my mothers who just came to the UK from carribean, made a mistake 40 years ago. When at the time i had my first cookery school lesson. I did get to make a mince pie from the school pantry suppies. When i took it home my mother tasted it. Said that not mice pie. When i said it is. It is time some people realized that many of these dishes are being lied on. People are taking randon chicken dishes and rice with peas, veg etc and they are claiming that it suppose to be Jamaican jerk chicken and rice and peas. Just to stir up controvery on social media and many are falling for these lies.
I shouldn't laugh. As my late Mum, was living in England 🇬🇧in the 50s, her work colleagues tried their best to make her feel at home by inviting her for dinner. They tried their hardest to make Curry Chicken for her, but it lacked colour, undercooked, and tasteless. But in order to save face, Mum took a piece and sort of moved it around her plate to make it look like she ate it along with the other side dishes. So I can understand that man's plight. You don't want to make people feel bad for trying to make you feel at home. In the 50s , there was no internet. Nowadays, information is at our fingertips. They should have done some research or even run to the local Caribbean restaurant and buy some jerk chicken. 🙄😉🤷🏿♀️🇨🇦🇯🇲🇬🇧
