I think this is why she took a two year sabbatical. She cut ties with Sony and now is going independent, becoming more independent and authentic. In an article I read, She agreed that this style wasn’t for her and I believe we are going to get that rustic and soul singing back

I watched her audition a million times and I just never tire of it. In hindsight, it's easy to see that through the entire 2015 season, she never had any real competition.
