    If you are only exposed to the same activity and environment over and over, You are bound to get bored( static or declining happiness)! That's why you travel, meet new kinds of people, make new investments, start fresh ventures, learn a new craft etc etc . Now, money helps by providing the means to do so. That's why people pursue it. If you have lots of money but live the same lifestyle you will get bored.

    • @laldingliana5198
      @laldingliana5198 8 років тому +2

      On the contrary, if you are obscure and live in abject poverty your chances of starting new things, making new things, trying new things, meeting new people etc becomes limited because most of your time will be spent on trying to curb your hunger, your thirst etc. Your live will simply revolve around the same activity i.e trying to get enough food! So your happiness will come down n down. Your only solace will be in your dreams n certain institutions such as religion may be able to capitalise on this.

    My high school was not able to teach me enough with economics so I did rigorous self-study on my own during the quarantine. "Two things I asked of You,
    Do not refuse me before I die:
    Keep deception and lies far from me,
    GIVE ME NEITHER POVERTY NOR RICHES;
    Feed me with the food that is MY PORTION,
    That I not be full and deny You and say, “Who is the Lord?”
    Or that I not be in want and steal,
    And profane the name of my God."

    "Those people are annoying" ... best joke in the series imo
    When I was unemployed for a long period it wasn't just the stress. It was that everything took more time, more effort, more money for very little return. And so much is unknown, you feel you have control over nothing. Not just which job you might find but little things like what you can afford to eat for breakfast

    The thing with the birthday dinner, that's in psychology, too. I forget what it was called, exactly, but it was used with the example of a child reading because he/she enjoys it. If a parent offered to pay or reward the child, they were less likely to enjoy reading as much as they did, decreasing with the attempt to reinforce the behaviour. It proved that intrinsic motivation can be affected by extrinsic motivation; in this case negatively
