This seems to be an extremely laid back performance. And strangely it seems the percussionist's microphones were not working as there is practically nothing to hear of his efforts.
I disagree that it is crap, but would be very interested to have some suggestions from you of current composers that you would recommend. I am always looking to find new and exciting music.
Icelandic music scene? Do you think that's what Anna is doing here? So if I'm Russian and make music that is deliberately not Russian, but only inspired by some aspects of Russia, I'm a disgrace to the Russian music scene?
Reminds me of Ligeti. His pieces Clocks and clouds, Atmosphères, and Lontano come to mind.
Brilliant and beautiful on so many levels !
I wonder how this one composer has gotten so much attention ,performances, commissions and so many top worldclass orchestras play her work !
Tremendous ! - vast soundscape - EXCELLENT - I ordered the CD
Hope to see and hear something by Jón Leifs on this channel sometime soon.

Sphärenklang wunderbar
Magic.
Brava!
Mmmmmm I wonder if she's ever heard any Ligeti.
would interesting to know whats in the mind of Ms Þorvaldsdóttir as she composed this.
See the excellent brief documentary about her - Composing Myself - ua-cam.com/video/bLHru-uCaKA/v-deo.html
Air ? Storm ? Quiet wind..? Spring ? And autumn ? It sounds like a … ?
If you're still interested, you can actually read her dissertation where she discusses exactly this!

Primordial soup music.

It's a shame, because the percussion part is so interesting.
You'd have to be auditioning this from a laptop or phone, the percussion sounds quite full on headphones.
@@Civilizashum I'm using a desktop PC linked to a proper amp and speakers,, and the sound is fine.
This is good
Doo-doo.
Nothing but crap. A disgrace and a terrible representation of what is actually happening within the Icelandic music scene.
