SPB DESIGN & BUILD we get these done in a day. This relies on as much prep in the workshop as possible (including premounting doors on carcases) and working at a pace. I’d rather a hard day’s graft if at all possible to finish, than to return for a second day. It’s better for me and the customer.
@@Alastair_Freebird yes all in the prep and carefull measuring and like you say as much in the workshop as possible ,also reduces the amount of tools required on the fit . I did my 1st one just before Christmas, slightly different as it was a base cabinet with 4 doors and then another open shelving cabinet on top , but i was surprised how fast it went in , it was done in 4 hours , just a quick return visit to fit handles the client had forgot to get . Note to self after that one to always remind client to have them or choose from the range I offer ..👍
SPB DESIGN & BUILD that’s funny we came to exactly the same conclusion with handles and now make sure to get them chosen and ordered (by us) well ahead! Sounds like a quick install otherwise. Was it you that said you did general joinery for a while, just started specialising in fitted furniture?
@@Alastair_Freebird yeah that's me ,if it's not handles it's something else , finished of 2 install this week , one 2 week wait for client to decide cable tidies ,5 minute job to fit yesterday ,and today 2 doors to finish a media can due to them arriving water damaged ,somehow the bag they were wrapped in was full of water and I didn't notice it till install day , again a 40mm round trip for 15 minute job lucky I only live on the isle of man 😊no great distance here 👍
By the way ignore the SPB design that was just playing around with new branding ideas, I need to change that again it's just I don't often comment on videos in here but I find your warts and all approach quiet refreshing and as I'm following a similar path now it's good interesting content , you'll see me pop up on the FTG as Simon boorman or on Twitter as WT design & build 👍
