Hey guys! Hope you're doing well in these crazy times wherever you are. 2020 has been a very wierd year so far.
Anyways, this is my little tribute to the Tower of God Soundtrack. I transcribed a total of 6 OST s in the last month but only 3 or 4 made it into this video (depending on if the last part is the same track or not). I took the songs that worked better together but it's a shame I couldn't fit them all in this video.
Maybe I'll make a volume 2 with the other OST s that I've recreated and a few new ones from the latest episodes 10 & 9. Coment below if you would like to hear that!
Regarding Tower of God itself I'm mindblown. The world and the characters (plus their interactions) are super unique and entretaining. The action scenes we got so far have been very intense (I believe the soundtrack had a lot to do with this). I also get some Gon and Killua vibes from Baam and Khun which is great. Oh and can someone tell me why do the subs refer to the main character as Baam while the characters call him Yoru? That caught my attention since episode 1.
To be honest I can't wait for the anime to end so I can catch up with the manga because of how good the story seems to be. (although it would be nice to have a season 2 of course).
Last but not least Kevin Penkin has yet again made a super unique and fresh OST for a great anime. The music that this guy makes is such a breath of fresh air and you can't really find anything remotely close to his style. So of course this is just as much of a tribute to Kevin Penkin as it is to Tower of God.

The original story was a korean webtoon. And Baam means night in Korean. But since it is in anime, Yoru means night in Japanese. That's why they refer to him as Baam and Yoru
Ban is also night in japanese, I don't know why they would choose yoru over Ban
Bam is a korean word means night. Therefore he is known as yoru in japanese
(Note:- if anyone think why i answer this. Then read description of this video.)
Oh, Bam also means "chestnut" in Korean which is why the administrator and other characters called him "tasty"

@@TwenyInchTV As far as I understood from the webcomic, Baam doesn't have that high of reserves. Enryu is the irregular with massive shinsu reserves, Baam _simply_ skips all of the steps humans have to do and uses shinsu like administrator would.
Hyped for Kev to release this one. Something about his music is so inspiring when I'm writing and world building. His style is almost ethereal, out if this world, mystical. Really goes hand and hand with large worlds waiting to be explored
I agree. It's a super unique style that almost has no boundries. The world needs more composers like these.
I mean, Tower of God is basically reverse Made in Abyss as well, so he can perfect the writing style that made him famous
The song at 3:08 is almost like nothing I’ve heard before. It’s as if Bam is a force of nature and a kind of entity that no one can truly understand the lengths of its power.
SPOILERS, ANIME ONLYS DON'T READ: I mean he is an irregular, there are probably only 4 people who were as powerful or more powerful as Baam when they were first at the tower, in order of strength: Phantaminum, Enryu, Jahad, Mazino

@@hypernarutouzumaki They weren't AS strong, because not all irregulars are same. Baam was able to fight against Data Zahard who even strongest family head was never able to defeat in their 10 fights, so he became Zahard servant. Baam is definitely more powerful than any family head was at same point.
Well he is pretty much as strong as a high ranker even tho he is still a C rank regular, so yeah. He's op as fuck.
@@JebDMan Shit might as well say 3. Actually insane to think about the axis Phantaminum. Im not sure if there are other axes in the tower but it just blows my mind. They're practically omnipotent considering an Axis is someone who has the power to influence the story. Being able to practically control the universe with powers equal to the fucking author which is beyond a god in a story is mind boggling.
This is really good. Also, if you're going to read the webtoon after the anime ends, I'd suggest you reread season 1 too, since they made a considerable amount of changes and there left out a ton of dialogue and monologues that help with character development.

The only thing left out id complain about were controlling bangs, other than that I felt the anime caught a lot of what was important to the story. The changes weren't that considerable imo.
@@RafaDaGreat I would say the only other significant changes were making Akryung vanish like he did, and what they did to Yu Han Sung's character. They removed his humor and antics and basically froze his face into that one expression.
@@DenarianLord meeeeeeh I disagree. I dont find those changes significant at all. You could pick other changes, but those you mentioned are really nothing. Arkyung is hardly seen even in the webtoon, and the way he disappeared in the anime actually was better imo, because it showed the connection he had with Rachel. I still believe the anime production was awesome. The majority of key plot was kept, and the music...some of the purist complaints seem to be petty overall.
@@RafaDaGreat that's what he said, these were just small contents but can show a lot abt their character which wasn't shown much. And the part abt Ghost vanishing seems important, cz they focusing so much on that fact while in webtoon he normally passed
The soundtracks of TOG is so haunting, all of them are a strange but beautiful mix of tribal, choir and cyberpunk.. Kevin Penkin did a phenomenal job
This anime could easily become the next big shot of anime world..for me who has been following siu's work for while and being up to date with TOG webtoon i can easily say this is in my top 10 manga/manhwa ...the great art,stories,secrets,background, holy hell this animes world has the same potential as one piece or maybe even more..hopefully people realize it soon and support it so that we can also see the stars at the top of the tower..amazing work max anime..hope to get more from you on this anime
100% agree. I’m around 80 chapters away from catching up to the webtoon and this show is destined to be one of the greats. The world that siu build is one of the most unique I’ve seen so far. I really hope the anime adaptation does more than just 13 episodes next time because it’s going to take forever to progress with the story otherwise.

@@danielshabilla7678 at the moment I'm reading TOG,The Gamer and Noblesse all amazing in their own way..my recommendation for you would be to read "bastard" as that was like one of my favorite..it kinda reminded me a little bit of death note since its about murderers.
@Some Guy brother, yes I understand that the art in the anime was not top notch but in webtoon it is in a class of its own and nothing not even one piece comes close to the art if you read TOG..as for anime its still just the beginning and I think they had not a big budget for this anime but as time goes I'm sure it will improve by a lot ...
@Some Guy The art of season 1 in webtoon is weak and I agree, but the art gets exponential better just like BAM's power ;)

I once thought that Hiroyuki Sawano is the best anime song composer, no one could hold one's own confronting him. And here is Kevin Penkin, his works just slapped on my face and show that I was totally wrong. In both Made in Abyss and Tower of God,the music he make just fits perfectly to the scene and the mood of the anime. That's so fascinating.
Kevin Penkin, Hiroyuki Sawano, Yuki Hayashi (Haikyuu / boku no hero), Yutaka Yamada (Vinland Saga). This 4 are the best composers in the anime industry in my opinion and Kevin has the most unique style out of them. Completely agree with what you said.

Kevin’s talent is out of this world. He makes choices that no other composer would even think of. Then you hear it and it just clicks. Bulgarian choir + dubstep + strings, who would think of that!?

I think I can agree to an extent in the sense that they interrupt the music way too much. But I guess that's also due to the show having frequent and abrupt mood changes that need to be followed by the music somehow ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
True but sometimes they nail it like that one time when quant uses reverse flow and the soundtrack synced with the sound of shinsu
The anime is hit and miss. But I kinda think, it really hits hard when it does. I'm glad, that they did an anime release, since anime is my prefered medium in general. Web comics are different from mangas, so it's not that much of an surprice, that the first adaption has some issures, especially since manga adaptations aren't always great eighter.
the ost encompasses the whole show very well but not the individual moments of the show as its a much to jumpy and suspenseful ost for an action scene. i think they would have been better off with a different ost for most action scenes and keeping this one for important narrative moments e.g Bam's shinsu explosion, yuri's entrance or just anything Bam related.
The OST for Tower of God is so good, it really is so atmospheric for the show !
This intro song gave me goosebumps. Once I saw this scene, I couldn’t handle the hype. This anime is definitely gonna be popular in a year or so. Tower of God is a show you don’t wanna miss out on. Believe me.
The synthetic sounding bass chords in the beginning and the vocals give me the goosebumps. Fits perfectly with the surprise after seeing the giant eel that Bam first sees on Headon's Floor.

Baam is Korean for "night", so yoro is Japanese for "night", they changed it to not confuse Japanese audiences. But his name literally translates to "night", or his full name 25th bam, (25th night).

they call him bam, because that was his actual name. but because bam translates to night in korean (which was a detail the creator added) and the japanese are used to calling names by the hidden meaning, they call bam, night, like it actually means, just in japanese. which is yoru.

It's a Bulgarian Choir (Kevin Penkin said he used that in an interview). So I'd just search "bulgarian choir kontakt" on youtube or google and there are plenty of similar options 👍
