A beginners guide on how to record both map and soldier cinemtaics in MWIII. This guide shows you what settings need to be turned off or hidden, our preferered recording settings and also a simple way to record soldier cinematics with a team of bots, It's the same principle for recording with your team mates - you just need to work out movement and recording positions.

Thankfully MWIII has cleared up quite a few recording/spectator recording issues compared to previous COD titles, we totally agree - saving custom match settings really does need to return. Really appreciate the comment, fingers crossed 2024 release will include this!

That's a really good point, will look a little deeper in to that idea. Would literally be a game changer.
Is there a way to change the skin for the bots?
The bot skins are random as far a we can tell, but they have altered it though so it has custom skins as well as default.
What about when they die and a skull shows up, any way of removing that?
We have checked, nothing so far to turn them off. Ideally when we record soldiers we try to avoid these, map cines tend to be clean and easy. Will contine exploring the sttings just in case we come across the skull icon.
csn you open another client for death cinematics?
Follow all of the instructions as normal but instead of using bots in the private match, you can invite a couple of friends to make up both teams you can choreograph both deaths and executions. Thats what we did to make this video of us. We tended not to for MW3 due to how time consuming this is. However, fingers crossed theatre mode in BO6 with be much easier for all cines.
is it possible tho on warzone ??
Have not explored WZ too much, but what we have found is some HUD etc can be turned off but there is a couple of catches. You have to find a quiet part of the map in game and record from the players pov and crop about 1 third of the recording out, hand held weapons etc (not ideal unless recording in 4K where you can then edit the clips and zoom in to crop the unwanted elements, this way the resolution holds up very well but is very time consuming). However there is an option for custom matches and spectate via codcaster, but I believe there is a minimum number of people who need to enter. In theory if you have plenty of mates to fill the numbers then you could. - If you find out a better way let us know.
With theatre mode being reintroduced in BO6, we will be checking out all possible options for BO6 Maps, WZ and Zonbies cines (DMZ if that is added). Fingers crossed this will be a really useful theatre mode - stay tuned as we are planning to up our cines packs and recordings.
I was able to do everything correctly but for some reason the team idendity showing up on the screen
main 2 settings are at 3:00 for spectating and around 5:10 for hardcore. we originally kept missing these and ended up with tags. If it doesnt help send us a tweet with a screenshot to help further.

No problem, send us a screenshot of the tags to our X account to check out. Could be the game mode. However we have noticed bot deaths show up as a skull which we have not found a way round that.
