That’s how I used to make my sweet pork. Now I learned the recipe where they just marinated it in sugar and all the sweet/savory sauce and then just stir fry and cook for a couple hours. Although I think I’d rather go back to this technique.

10 boiled eggs 1 cup sugar 3 pounds of pork 2 full lemongrass smashed 2 full garlic smashed or minced 1 regular onion chopped 1 regular sized galangal sliced 4 to 5 slices of ginger
3 pounds of pork 1 cup of sugar plus (2 cup of water) 1/2 cup brown braising sauce 1 spoon of fish sauce 1 spoon of oyster sauce 1 spoon of sweet soy sauce 1 spoon of seasoning sauce 2 head/bulb of garlic 1 Ginger 1 onion 2 lemongrass 10-12 eggs 1 spoon of Chinese 5-spices 4 cups of water ( 2 cups of water each time she add water) Let it cook for 1hour to 1hour and 30 min so that the meat is tender. At the end you try it. If it tastes fine than you don't need to add anything but if you think it needs more salt add 1 tsp of msg and 1 tsp of salt.
