The steering wheel in the bug was from 1973 to 1979 the fact that the spare tire sits up under the bonnet means it’s a standard beetle “supers lay flat” I could not tell 100% but it looks like it has a solid bumper bracket. They changed to a 5 mph shock mount in 1974. So my guess would be a 1973 standard beetle.
As a suggestion, you should keep a log of the vehicles you have pulled in the glove box of the wrecker. That way you have a full timeline of what you have pulled, where, when, etc. Love all of your content and your great rapport.
They actually sent two or three Beatles to Antarctica to be used as crew vehicles and they totally killed it because they're air cooled and not water cooled.
Hi, Adam and Jeremy. You two are such a hoot! Nice job, even though the water was too cold for Jeremy. You seem to be having fairly regular problems with Big Red's cables and I hope they get sorted out one day. Enjoyed the retrieval. Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and safe, you guys 👍
Hi Jeremy and Adam! I had a '69 red Beetle that I restored w my hubby. Fenders and engine trunk lids and any pieces you can salvage are worth $$$. I now have a new Beetle that IS pink and grey. Lol!
I forgot about the whole "Slug Bug" thing until Adam punched Jeremy in the arm. Thanks for bringing back some great memories while you help clean our waters of pollutants (aka vehicles). May God Bless you Both and Keep you Safe 💞 Be Happy 😂 Safe and Healthy 💞
Jermy: Just so you know, my wifey and I got together to watch this video.. Every time you said it was cold, We took another drink of our HOT COFFEE, in your honor! Hoped it helped!! Ha-ha ! Lol. Adam: What happened to the tow truck? Did you get it fixed?? Great job guys! Adam: Looked red to us, NOT Pink! Later Gator
I love watching you two. Your personalities go together so well. Jeremy has no filter and Adam is always trying his luck at comedy. No matter who Jeremy is paired up with, he always is the star of the show. You both make me happy. For your help in recovery for families, cleaning up the planet and entertaining us. VW's were very cute. I would never own one though. I drove a Rambler and an LTD Ford Wagon. The Ford was a tank. I could drive through 4 feet of water and the car would not stall. It also had a completely closed in steel bottom. Loved that car.
Really enjoyed that video of fun to make us laugh and hope the truck is not to bad to fix , and nice to see you both laid out checking the issue of the brake. Stay safe guys.
ROFLMAO 🤣 when you guys were pulling the car behind the boat, it reminded me of the episode of “Gilligan’s Island” when Gilligan is trying to pull that bomb out into the shipping lanes using a raft! Oh God you guys have me in stitches!!!! What a hoot!!!!!
Hey Jeremy and Adam. You are so close to Kingston as well as watts bar that you might find cars. Everywhere I know at one time close to the Kingston steam plant was a lost motor off a boat. Plus cane creek use to have a dock where they use to take cars from one bank to the other side on a ferry, before they built the bridge
There should still be a late 90's Jetta at the boat ramp across from Roane Co. Park since about 98 or so and probably umpteen vehicles at the ferry bridge going towards Sugar Grove Valley.
Hey from an native of the area, I do a lot of magnet fishing and the amount of cars that’s right there in that river is insane. I wish I could pull them but I don’t have the supplies or gear to do so. What y’all are doing is awesome and I wish I had the opportunity to do the same
Great find guys! I would have popped those hub caps and headlights off and sold them puppies on ebay. 😏Entertaining as always, job well done on cleaning up the waterways. 👍💥
Do they actually still do the slug bug? I learned that back when I was a kid (I won't say how long ago that was!). You ought to try out the water around here. It did get about up to 50 today but I wouldn't be surprised if the water is chilly. I really love watching you two, you're a great comedy act!
One thing puzzled me at the boat ramp that float bag is removed and magnet as things are always getting run over in dragging them out. Talking about 20 feet or so and car could not roll away again 😂 😂
Great Job on the Volkswagon, enjoyed the Vlog,. keep em coming guys, Thats the clearest water I have seen you guys work in and if its any consalation to you, thats the fastest the beetle has gone for ages lol
This was just GREAT My husband and I had a red VW in the early 1970's. Just loved it. It was a convertible. So funny--- the top started to leak and we had to drive from Georgia to Michigan. We painted boat resin on the top, it worked almost-I did have to hold a paper cup by the glove department to collect the rainwater. It POURED almost all the way there. LOVED the music. LOL. It's a shame you didn't get more parts, they are worth alot!
That little VW doest weigh but 1500 pound guys i had one back in the early 70s😅😅😅 I had a 1971 I bought and drove it off the showroom floor and total price was $1489.00 , my pay?enter were just 50. A month
The rear lid for the engine used sells for $200 if in good condition. If it had a hair blow dryer then it might be one of the rare older model of the sixties from Germany with the creator name on the engine. Highly sought after because it had the best engine of the VW series. As shown on American pickers show VW find in a barn.
@@davidharrell8890the early beetles had mini hair dryers for rear defrost installed. My valiant 1960 had one also. It was shortlived having a car with an installed hair dryer.
I'm sure that was just a temporary fix. But in case you didn't know, compression fittings are no bueno on what is considered a commercial truck like your wrecker. But I'm sure you've had this properly fixed already.
surprisingly good frame, here in Finland, the beetles that are in the forest are almost as rusty on the frame. there was even an intact rear part of the dashboard and the tires were spinning, which is really rare
Getting BIG TIME with Rolling Stones Let's hope there isn't a new fresh car We're trying not to listen to Nug either....😂😂 Wait, I thought dry suits keep you a bit warmer? I've seen enough sexy for this video 😅😂😊 Staying under a bridge could be a nerve wrecking, thinking someone wrecked over the bridge How long do you think it's been under water for? That's a long day of work Adam's lucky 🔩 I wanted a Beetle 🪲 one time It seems like your day just got longer. 🚚
To keep from losing the pin next time you drop it attached it with a chain and a wire to the shackle itself and then you won't lose it I've lost one before
Every time that VW commercial would come on during the early 1970's, a little boy would run to his family's black and white TV to excitedly watch it. That was me! :)
Hello Guys 😊 Those old cars are cool 👍When I was wee for fun me and my friend would count how many we could spot on the road when we would be on school trips 😊😅😅
Awesome brings back great childhood memories. We had a tan beetle and then we had a VW wagon and that was a 71. I think super Beetles were mid to late 70’s but I think it’s a regular. Nice pull.
Hey Nug check out Everything Auto from Sevierville TN. A viewer sent him the C hooks that the pin stays stationery (no screwing or dropping nd losing the pin). Just a thought nd I'm not sure who made them. Good job tho.
Hope ya'll are digging the car recoveries!! Please Subscribe and help us grow the WAR Army 🔥🔥
Did you scrap this big are rescue it completely
Absolutely! Saving our waterways one wrecked at a time!! Another great job, y'all :D
I’d love to see a video of someone restoring that bug!
You two work so great together its a joy to watch you banter with each other makes me laugh !

I would agree. 1973 standard beetle. Not a Super.

OMG THE BEETLE IS THE SAME AS MY 1973 1 OWNER I STILL HAVE IT TO THIS DAY I ONLY TAKE IT OUT IN THE SUMMERTIME NO WINTERS.
Thanks guys love all your videos. It was great seeing the beetle. Mine was blue, but they never changed much.

36:18 That's me (blue shirt) in the pontoon waiting to see what's happening before I load up the boat.
Great find guys! I would have popped those hub caps and headlights off and sold them puppies on ebay. 😏Entertaining as always, job well done on cleaning up the waterways. 👍💥
Great job guys! Just a few Bugs in mix😂
Great job guys enjoyed as always 😊❤
Great video guys quality edit as well Adam wish we could get these videos every week! ❤
Thanks! They take super long to edit but our goal eventually is to have one out each week 🤞
Jeremy you was right about that little road along the river people would drive down so far and use it as Lovers Lane and others would go fishing there
Never boring, u guys are a hoot😂😂😂 five stars
Great video, we love old car

When you dropped the bolt it reminded me they have ones now with spring tension so you don't lose the bolt
Got another one. Good job guys.
Awesome! 👍 I used to work on those cars 50 years ago... 👴😛
Keep up the great work and videos guys!
That was awesome seeing the beetle come out. I'm sorry the truck broke down. That beetle would have been a nice lawn ornament in the country lol.
Bring back the VW beetle -- more affordable then and now. Brings back memories !!
Great job…that water was so clear.
Love it thanks guys
Hi guys, enjoyed your video. Stay safe ❤
Good recovery 👍 Old Bug!
It's good you guys get the cars out of the water ways, and getting them out so they can be recycled
Another great job guys! 👍
And fun time too 😊
Absolutely a great fun video! Love you guys!
One thing puzzled me at the boat ramp that float bag is removed and magnet as things are always getting run over in dragging them out. Talking about 20 feet or so and car could not roll away again 😂 😂
My first car was a 1973 VW beetle and that looks like what you've got and I believe that all the red ones are super beetles
A real pity that the Beetle wasn't pressure-washed, so we could see the whole thing.
Brings back memories..... I learned to drive a stick in an early '60's bug.... yup, it was red. 😉
Good job, love old vw's.

Me 500

You guys do a great job thanks for cleaning up the world 🤘
Every time that VW commercial would come on during the early 1970's, a little boy would run to his family's black and white TV to excitedly watch it. That was me! :)
Why did you not do the identification number? I noticed that the seat was all the way forward, so it was probably a girl's vehicle.
Great video, the bug not wanting to come out was great, like Herbie !
Thanks 👍
I had seen this case through an Instagram video and wow, what a thrill to see it complete!!
Ever considered hooking to the vehicle when pulling it with boat? I'm pretty sure it drag a lot better. Just a thought.
Y'all just pulled up my dream car.
That was awesome guys. Love your channels. 🙏🇺🇸🗽👍💕

Guys have almost found their tales. Need the wrecker repaired, seems the brakes have a problem. Great work in the water.
You should have gotten all of the hubcaps.
Cool loved the video thanks
Im sorry Jermy but when you dive and then pop up on top you look just like a Turtle with his head above the water line lol😅😅😅😅
I think you need to try high pressure washer to get the zebra mussels off of the cars in the future.
Jeremy you're bearded makes you look like an Irish Amish man 😅
Where do you take the vehicles that y’all pull out of the water? Our scrapyard here in north ms requires a title before you can scrap a car.
Most do not you can just scrap whatever no proof of ownership or anything
super cool vid yall should come scan Chilhowee Lake its not far from oak ridge
Funny. My parents had a '65 Beetle, red. Sold it in '72 to neighbor who wrecked it months later.
