    In hindsight it’s wild how he got drafted 1st while playing like 6 games total lol. Shows how far he was skill set wise above the rest

      It was his workouts in the pre draft that solidified his status as the #1 pick. He was destroying every defender guarding him and dominating.
      If I remember correctly an unnamed scout referred to his workouts as the Globetrotters vs the Washington Generals as far as the disparity in skill between him and the others.

      Massive difference in actually being straight out of high school and getting a full season around coach K, the coaching staff/university, ncaa tournament experience, etc.

      The college game doesn’t translate to the nba style of play, so if I don’t see them in high school, I assume they’ll be average until I see them play against nba teams.
      I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted from his college games that he’d have probably the best functional handles ever seen, a literal genius with ball in either hand, as well as one of the best finishers especially for his height.
      I’ve watched the game for 30 years, and I had to watch closely to see the flashes of greatness in this highlight video. In the nba style of play, his talents are on display constantly rather than the restrained 1940s style of college ball.
