- "Natasha Poly" one day of "Model's Life" by FashionChannel - Natasha was born on July 12, 1985 in Perm, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union and began modeling locally in 2000 taking the second prize in a model search competition in Moscow. She made her runway debut, walking for Emanuel Ungaro in 2004. The year would prove to be her breakout year; she walked in 54 fashion shows in cities like Milan, Paris, and New York City, and graced the cover of French Vogue twice consecutively.

I just love how the people outside stare at her like she is from another world & the other models at the casting give her dirty looks. But at the end queen Natasha gets the castings & she still looks good.

+Beau Knutson models do have to work hard. You only see one half. They have to travel all day running around to castings, waking up super early working all day long. It's tiring. You can't judge until you've actually done it
+Beau Knutson actually it's true. I remember Karlie Kloss saying that she was literally running for the next show after the other. There was even this one time when she was opening Michael Kors and she had no time for make-up because she just finished doing Jean Paul Gaultier, but luckily there was no need for styling because the theme does not require models to have much make-up. Joan Smalls also experienced LITERALLY running after one show. It's difficult to manage if you have 10 shows in one day. And now they are supermodels, and they now have the advantage of not going to castings and instead just choose to walk for exclusive brands.
+Beau Knutson let's not even talk about supermodels, let's just talk about a 'regular' model. The competition in this industry is really very tough. Today they like you, tomorrow they don't. When Joan Smalls was just a 'regular' model, she was ALWAYS not booked while other girls have already been booked. I remember she said that she just cried in the garden of the casting venue because she couldn't do anything. Let me tell you about a 'then' rising star Snejana Onopka. During 2006-2009, Snejana rose to instant fame because of her extraordinary ability skill in the catwalk. But after those years, she IS not even getting shows and campaigns anymore. How do I know? I have talked to her personally. Can you remember what they did to models like Sasha Pivovarova and Gemma Ward? They were even near the 'supermodel' status and were really in demand, but new 'wave' of fashion came in and only the TOUGHEST like Natasha Poly and Mariacarla Boscono remained.
+Beau Knutson I was just talking about the competition alone and those girls I've mentioned are not even 'normal' models, so just imagine how 'normal' models are being treated. If they can change 'near supermodels or even supermodels' that easily, just think how these average models can lose their job in just a snap of a hand.
She's always so nice & elegant. Love the way she sparkles herself out from the crowd effortlessly.
Crazy how she just seems like a beautiful normal elegant girl, and then on the runway she becomes a fierce goddess destroying everything in her path.

she's really beautiful and what tops that is her kindness and warmth, you can see that she's a really wonderful person:) and, just by looking at her castings, i can see what a tiring business modeling actually is...when you crack it, it can be amazing...but so many fail, and so few get to that famous model status, big contracts and many runway bookings...she did it and very much deserves it:) love her.

Castings look like such a terrible experience. Can't the brands make sure all the girls have at least chairs to sit on? Why the humiliation especially when they are supposed afterwards to be all glamourous and chic. This looks really sad. Shame on the casting agents and the brands allowing this.
