My favorite player of all time. This was a guy that could take ass beating after ass beating from every elite defense and still show up every Sunday, doing what he loved the most. When Favre went on to the field, he played his heart out and left everything on that field. There wasn't a more entertaining quarterback around to watch, growing up. Favre is the reason fell in love with football and in my eyes will always be one of the greats.
You took all the words out of my mouth. He's my favorite player of all times and the guy who made me love football. I never got a chance to watch him play live, so I couldn't miss his retirement. Just wish the Packers could've won the game with me and Brett there
When people say that Starr is the greatest Packers QB ever I beg to differ as a GB fan, Favre brought greatness back to Green Bay, before Favre we were in a 20 year drought, after him we've been a playoff/Championship team every year for 20+ years, that's greatness.
Before Starr, GB had not had a wining season in 11 years... they were on the verge of dismantling the team and folding... Under Starr, GB went on to win 5 titles in a 7 year span, including a 3-peat....{They came within one play of doing it twice......} They were a true dynasty and the team of the 60's. Favre's Packers were a good team in the mix every year but by no means a dynasty.... ONE ring was all he could muster... should have won 4....I'll take Starr's 5 rings over Favre's one ring any day...

I love Brett Favre. He’s a top 10 quarterback in my mind. However, I’d say those late ‘90s Packer teams were better than most Peyton Manning’s Colts teams. Brett Favre had good coaching, defenses, and a great cast. Peyton had good receivers, but the coaching was a rollercoaster and he had some rough defenses. I’d say Peyton is better.
Michael Neyman late 90s teams? No, mid 90s team (94-97) yes! Outside of that, Favre didn't have a lot. 94-97 packs were great on both sides of the ball, but outside of that they've had just as bad of defenses and coaching as colts did in the manning era, and manning played in the AFC south which has been a cheesey division for a long time! Manning has always had a better supporting cast in every position on offense, with the exception of rb, then what Favre has had and manning had it for much longer. Not saying manning isn't better, but he's never had to struggle with consistent playmakers. I will say manning is better only because he studied it so much where as Favre treated it like backyard football
Huh??? He ALWAYS played on good teams other than that one year with the New Jersey Jets. And year after year he cost his team in the playoffs with retarded interceptions at the WORST times. Great in the first half of his career but not the second half
We had to play Brett twice a year and it was so crazy as he would throw for 5 times in the second half. Finally he came to /Minn 4 years after he as suppose to retire. First year he brought us to the championship game. Unbelievable!!
For many of the older folk, he is their football hero. A lot of younger folk disrespect him, but there's a few smart ones like myself that wish they were alive to witness prime Brett Favre. I rank him as a top 10 Qb all time.

Aaron "Flacco" Rodgers really makes me miss Favre. And that's as a Bears fan. I never saw Favre yell at a teammate in the middle of a game for making a mistake. I never saw Favre handicap his team with a primadonna contract. Brady, Brees, and Rivers are the last of the breed of QBs who wanted to win, not simply make big bucks.
