Usually the scammers are not from USA/UK, so 80 dollars is more for them than for someone living in USA so it seems worth it for them
the reason for the sketchiness in their sites is the same reason as to why scam emails have some blatant spelling mistakes, so that the skeptical ones peace out right away and only their target audience stay to fall for the scam
Oh hey look youtube recommending me a video that is good and is from a smaller creator you love to see it! I am also a smaller streamer but am currently on hiatus from streaming. But scammers especially of the vtuber sphere love reaching out to me to try to scam me when I literally mess with scammers on the side is hilarious. Anyways probably the reason youtube recommended me this video is because of that.
I’m an artist and I like to make a lot of my own assets for my stream channel because it’s a nice personal touch (and it’s free.99). So if these art scammers ask I’m like why yes, this IS a custom made banner! Beat ya to the punch! Then block ‘em lol.

It gets wild when I get those folks due to they try so hard be like 'oh you seem to be missing x/could do more than what is here currently.' My sibling in Christ if I wanted to add or revamp my assets that I made MYSELF, I probably do it MYSELF. I know not every content creator is an artist but goodness for those who do have an artist or graphic design background the audacity that occurs when these folks are encountered. Probably a similar vibe to those who already had settled with a trusted artist for their assets. I know I get some of these folks from time to time as a pngtuber cause they try to sell me their vtube model art services cause they think its due to I don't have means to jump to 3d. I'm someone who isn't interested in that leap cause I rather have full control of my model art being by MY hands.

I cant believe I found THE taylor swifts youtube channel! But for real though these people suck because you think you are having a nice convo between artists when suddenly jumpscare its a bot, then usually these bots attack small artists that dont get many messages to begin with so its just disappointing to get these messages.
these scammers are a joke. I remember roasting one into getting auto banned due to them spamming caps.
I love people calling these scammers out. Thesed video is resonating with so many cause they are a pest. They used to just show up if you used the tags commission and art , but now they fully stalk people in their streams, channels and manage to get their discords. I like to think the mayority if people know its a scam but these type of videos help spread the word out to not pay for deformed AI.
DUDE I had a friend get got by one of these art scammers and I ended up going down a rabbit hole to try and find out what was going on. They joined my discord and messaged everyone to advertise, we found the original artist that they stole from and gave to my friend, and when we called them out they started telling my community members to let them in the discord/kill themselves from multiple different accounts. These people blow ass. Be careful peeps.
Hearing the yearly salary calculations once again reminded me of how underpriced my hand-drawn art is as I barely make more than that... My anxiety prevents me from getting a 'real job'
oh my god this reminds me of another website just like this except it was from "Streamer Station". they were like a legit chatter until they dmed my gf on discord asking if they wanted a logo done, and when they said no, the person called their stream "lazy and low standard" LMAOOO (yes they also have shitty stolen art on their website)
anyway i signed up their emails to peta and the church of scientology newsletter as well as other newsletters i hope they enjoy them
(ALSO??/ their logo being so swastika shaped it cannot be an accident how is this a thing)
Something that should be noted here is that good percent of scammers are from 3rd world countries where the power of the US dollar is a lot more powerful. 80USD could equate to 200-300$ in some countries. Now I'm not saying its fully the case here, or for all scammers but its a lot more easy to see when they may not have the best English and rely on AI/translators to do the writing for them. The amount they could scam out of someone could be enough to support themselves, sort of like how some people can live off of being Oldschool Runescape gold farmers.
Oh yeah fs. 80usd is near 13000 in my country and that can buy lunch for me for probably the entire month depending on how many days I’m not home to cook

he then continued to flirt with me, a pngtuber model, ask about my underwear and bra size.

I cannot stress how thankful I am that someone finally made a video about this topic because I felt like I was going crazy trying to explain to people this was a scam.
I love that as an art streamer/fulltime artist who makes everything herself These are so funny- Since "BRO HAVE YOU CHECKED WHAT ACCOUNT UR ON????" at first they only existed in Instagram dms and Twitter (just twitter as a whole). NOW I've seen them on twitch, Tiktok COMMENTS that's right no dms, Discord and so on- Wild times-

Actually surprised that this is being talked about, because i had my run ins with scammers of the similar maybe even EXACT kind both on twitch and discord. I remember vividly how i called one out on discord for being a scammer and a liar and she was being veeeery aggressive with me. Whoever is dumb enough to even fall for this sort of stuff really needs to get their eyes checked.
a bunch of these bots get really butthurt if you ignore them too LMAO, I had one spam me with a "🤔?" every 3 days 😭

Honestly, you gained a sub and a follower on twitch! you got great charisma and storytelling skills my friend! these people came to my streams too, and they were CONSTANTLY in my game, those people constantly dmed my game's players, and had to put bounties on them lmao
i got one of these one time i streamed on twitch recently. and i always get people in my dm requests or follows whenever i enter art raffles from fellow artists i follow. they come from random accounts that say comms open in their display name or bio, and either have no art on their profile or works of varying quality/style. the dms are the most annoying because they try to fake be my friend just to get me to comm them.
funnily enough i talked to one and they tried to insist they werent a scammer while claiming to use adobe illustrator as their main art program (despite the name it's not actually good for drawing) and the GAME ENGINE UNITY for 3d art. ive never done 3d art but even i know and hear plenty of real fellow artists talk about blender. i also made one feel bad enough to stop asking by saying im a broke recent grad who just got wrist surgery and was sad i couldnt draw bc of it (true at the time).
I hate these scammers so much, they also get my name wrong and call me "1x darling" i guess scammers can't read lol xD

It's like a strainer. Meant to strain easy to fool from the rest. Only truly gullible people will respond to them. People who are so naive that they won't see the red flags on later stages. If it was believable for most, we would message them, see through their act much later, and back out before wasting our money. Ultimately wasting their time. It's a prevalent approach. And unfortunately it works.

i'm kind of glad that i declined every time i had these guys in my chat. i'm a really small streamer so i talked back to them since chatting is not as common with randoms. I'm glad that you're also talking about this cause i've never seen anyone else do it, i thought i was the only one LOL
Good video. I got scammed by one of these guys once lmao paid like 80 bucks for like 16 emotes that were contracted by someone on fiverr. Sucks to be scammed but oh well 😔

Encountered 2 at once in the same stream once, they even started beefing with each other, which was hilarious. Also, decided to see what one of them does cuz they asked if I wanted to see what they're working on rn, they sent me a line art, but with a very bland design and asked if I wanted to see the shaded version, after which they sent me a flat colored version. I asked about that and they replied that they "do art differently for every person, so it suits their needs". Didn't even bother to check what shading and coloring is. Nice.

That's crazy. I just started streaming on twitch and I made a post about it on Twitter then immediately got two different people asking me the same things basically.
21:10 My guess is that they're either not American, and therefore 25k US Dollars is actually quite a lot in their country, they're really young so they can't have a job yet and decided this would be a good way to earn money (I've seen many kids who decided to repost art and pretend it's theirs because it made them feel cool, I guess this could just be the next step), or they don't want a job/leave the house and do this instead to earn some money (maybe they live with their parents, are a stay at home parent, etc so they don't need to pay rent and could even just be basement dwellers who don't wanna leave)
I stream art and I've never gotten the bots selling me graphics design services😂 I just get hit with the cheap/best viewers bots

😂 I get these scammers almost weekly as a small streamer. I added one once and after saying I wont buy any art they started with a sob story how their mom is sick and they need money etc 😆
and I met the same scammer too the Artistic Zone but was different username if I remember correctly.
I always want to see their portfolio but most of the time I am really dissapointed coz they didnt put any effort and dont have any art on twitter
and things get really sussy of somesomethignsomethingMaria follows me for the 6x time in one month (I may have bad memory for names but...)

I got one of these months and monthhhs ago. I started smelling that it was fishy how they were too nice lol. Then this person showed me they do logo commissions for 100 usd 🙃
So i was like nope, blocked, and banned on my stream.

Cmon if you want to make money from art at least draw it yourself. I started selling my art for 1 - 3$ when my art was "bad". Now I am at uni working towards a bachelors in graphic design, and i still undersell my art for 10$ - 60$ ;D

Imagine spending all this time and all this energy on scams and all this nonsense, instead of just filling out a job application. Even if your scam has a little bit of success, you're never going to get anywhere with this. This is only setting yourself up for failure, because you'll never understand what hard work is actually like. Most of the time I just wonder why they even bother when the more typical route of making money might actually just be easier and is at the very least a lot more consistent lol
