  • The Hon. Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama has congratulated the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians for their convincing win against the Maori All Blacks.
Speaking to the players after the perfect start to the 2019 RWC campaign beating the Maori All Blacks with a score line of 27-10 in the 2019 Pacific Test Series at ANZ Stadium in Suva today, Prime Minister Bainimarama urged the players to continue the great team work they displayed during the game.
The Prime Bainimarama who is the president of Fiji Rugby Union met and congratulated all the players individually, and provided them words of encouragement for their final Pacific Series Test match in Rotorua against the same team next weekend.
“You all played a wonderful game today against the opposing team, whatever level of performance we put out here we need to continue next week,” Prime Minister Bainimarama said.

I'm Maori and one thing I must say about fijian players and supporters is how humble they are no matter if it's victory or defeat. I can see Fiji causing a upset or 2 at the world cup.

I remember Te Kohanga playing Fiji Army who were based at the Papakura Army Camp in the 70th man they were massive games big hits and all most memorable. Te Kohanga is a small country club made up of Maoris played that flowing style similar to the Fijians awesome to watch later on followed the hangi then out came the beers and then the guitar. Whuu can those Fijian brothers sing their harmony beautiful yip missed those days good luck Fiji give it heaps not to hard on my nephew Quinn Tupaea his grandfather Ima Tupaea was the captain for Te Kohanga at the time God bless my brothers

Love Fiji. If I had to support a second team after England it would be them. So humble and full of outstanding talent. Born to play rugby

Congrats Fijian brothers and sisters. Show the rugby world what you’re truly made of. Hopefully one day, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa will become tier 1 rugby nations.

NasinuWarrior85 I know what you’re saying. Sadly it’s all financial. Fiji has the stadium and support. Hope the PI will have a team in the Super Rugby within the next 10 years.

This is a really talented Fiji team. Fiji have a chance to beat a big team at the World Cup this year and get to the quarter finals.

just think, if the world league went ahead. Fiji might actually become a consistent rugby powerhouse!!

    • @chesterdonnelly1212

I doubt it. Their best players will be playing in Europe and wouldn't be available to play in the World League.

@@chesterdonnelly1212 but thats the thing, the world league made is such that there is a time for domestic and a time for international matches. There would not be an overlap like there is now!

    • @chesterdonnelly1212
      @chesterdonnelly1212 5 років тому

@@AndrewTube players still need an off season. However, what Fiji would probably do is have effectively 2 teams. A Southern Hemisphere team that plays in the Rugby Championship and home test matches, and a European based team that plays the November tests.

What I believe is Fiji 🇫🇯 has their best world class 7’s rugby talents and techniques.
Here we go 7’s technique in a 15 aside game.
All blacks kindly analyze it and work for it please.
However great technique’s by Fiji 🇫🇯 and I wish them to have a great journey this year 2019.
Never the less All black are the best.

Waiting to watch full game to assess. MAB looked exhausted , what happened? Thought they have to prove themselves if they want to be selected in the ABs for Tokyo. Anyway they lost to a far better side. Next game.
