So long as these people consistently generate revenue for producers, the bad behavior of these "stars" will continue to be tolerated, and said stars know that only too well. Only if a star's behavior causes lost revenue or serious legal troubles (like Alec Baldwin for instance) will the money folks take any action to try to reign in the a-hole stars.

Not that I worshipped her or anything but I used to like Bette Midler. Then I worked on a film with her and she, her assistant and her husband were such aholes. I also later encountered her husband when he was at AFI and he had not changed, still an ahole. A lot of actors, professionally, can turn on a character like throwing a light switch but with some it's a real Dr.Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde kind of thing and discerning a garden variety egomaniac (which Hollywood is full of) from someone truly psychotic is an extremely useful skill. I had the displeasure of working with one such. In retrospect, I'm pleased that I parted ways on my own terms but was treated poorly by the people sucking up to him. The guy in question later murdered his wife, daughter, tried to run off with his sons and then later killed himself. It's one of the more minor Hollywood cautionary tales. if curious, look up Aziz Ghazal.

All the original SNL players turned out to be incredibly egotistical and rude. From Belushi to Chase and the worst Bill Murray. I contribute all that to Lauren Michaels and the way he ran the show.
I can't say that it's how he ran the show. Yes, most of the men from the original cast became so awful to work with the they've become unhireable. (Wes Anderson must have magic powers over Murray). Subsequent casts produced some really funny and pleasant people: Eddie Murphy, Julie Louise Dreyfuss, Billy Crystal, Joan Cusack, Al Franken, Tina Fey, Harry Shearer and Chris Farley to name a few.

Some actors can be good at their job, but nightmares to work with, or beloved for the roles they play, but you wouldn't want to know them in real life. People shouldn't put them on pedestals, because we never know the real them, especially when their careers depend upon a persona. Especially, when they forget what being humble means, and they forget what it was like for them, before power and ego became their life.

There is always another side to the story, but in videos like this they won't tell it, because it would make their version less sensational. Everyone wants to believe the worst. And frankly, much depends on what timeframe these stories come from. In March of 2022, the bar for what is or is not acceptable or "offensive" has been lowered considerably in our "woke", "ultra-PC", "thin skinned", "cancel culture" world. I take stories like the ones in the video with a couple of pounds of salt. I would also add that everyone, even high paid Hollywood actors/actresses have bad days. We are all allowed those.

I dont think anyone disliked DDL... nobody has said DDL is a prick or a bad person etc.. Liam just said it was a bit much the process he goes through. but never said Daniel is a bastard and treats co workers badly.. so I dont think DDL should be in this video!
I met Dustin Hoffman . He is a very quiet and humble . I was working at Circuit City in Manhattan he was just browsing and quietly making conversation with people .
Okay. I am Daniel's age. Do you think it is too late to challenge him? I was busy working with autistic teenagers and young adults with challenging behaviors during that time. I and my coworkers loved each of those people with no reserve and with our whole hearts. Daniel does not get to challenge people and be an A-Hole to inflate his career. I have worked 24-7 with people who are not "pretending", but are genuinely trying to communicate, regulate their nervous systems, and not "hurt" anybody if they can help it...I've watched parents cry from the depth of love they have for their children, and the fear they have that they can't connect with that child in time to save that baby from The System. Once you go in, in my experience, you never really get clear again (my Dad's wise words, not mine).
So many of these actors and entertainers start believing their press releases about how wonderful they are, believing that they carry the project single handedly and they have contempt for all the other contributors. They think the women are thete for their pleasure. It's like the show they're doing about Playboy. Hugh Hefner made it seem like he helped with the sexual libetation of women, when in fact he used them for hisvoen and his friend's pleasure. He had cameras everywhere filming actors, actresses, politicians and anyone else with power having sex, which he would later use to blackmail them if they moved against him. He covered up rapes of women by Bill Cosby, Don Cornelius, and so many others. The saying goes, "The biggest trick the devil pulled is by tricking people into believing that he doesn"t exist".
What we need to learn about ourselves is that we are all pretty bad. Even when we are trying to be good, we are pretty bad. We should not be surprised to discover people are bad. That's not news. Of course they are. And most of the time they do not see it. What is surprising is when people are actually good. Sometimes it happens.
I love Ali Larter's non apology statement. Essentially being 'I'm sorry you were butt hurt.' If that apology had been given by a man to a woman for the same reason, people would still be harassing the guy to this day about it. Gotta love those double standards.
Yep, in the "woke", "ultra-PC", "thin skinned" "everything I don't like is offensive" "cancel culture" world women are always the perpetual victim. If a man calls them out, then he'll be shamed and then labeled, then shouted down. It's straight out of the feminist, leftist playbook.

Tommy Lee Jones seems like the type of actor who would want to get on with the job at hand, but gets irritated by the class clown. That's no excuse for being mean, however. Or being "childish and impossible" (Joel Schumacher's assessment of Val Kilmer). The only true professionals from the cast of main characters seem to be Nicole Kidman and Chris O'Donnell, who both wisely waited until enough time had passed to reveal the truth about Val Kilmer.
I think most people who grew up with and watching Jim knew his silly side that he always wanted that attention and did things trying to make people laugh, just based on the bloopers to his shows and movies. And Tommy im guessing got fed up with that really quick. So I agree, i havent heard of Tommy being a bad person over his movies by anyone other than Jim and on that movie. I've dealt with sexual harassment a lot in my lifetime, starting when I was around 3 or 4, it was nu&% pics taken of me at gunpoint as the guy stole my father's pistol. All of this is 90% the fault of the people in charge. The stars should have been fired and blackballed ASAP to make them an example.
Believe none of what you hear & half of what you see. And don't be a fucking wimp.
What makes you think the people in charge weren't even more abusive than them?
why is it there fault? they arent doing it,people should be adult and proffesional enuf to not be rude or annoing, blaming the people in charge for what others do is just silly,my boss isnt responsible for what i do,i am but its true that people in charge have the responsability to take charge and it only helps if everyone calls out the person thats the problem.

Or maybe we should face the truth, grow and evolve to have healthier heroes?
I still have a couple of heroes left - Michael J. Fox & Rick Astley, never heard anything bad about them, thank god!

Uggggg!!! I would not last on any set with people like that, unless those in control of hiring and firing refused to fire me, because I would be telling every one of them off, verbally putting them in their place and standing up for anyone being yelled at, cussed at, sexually harassed, and any other things of the sort. If they then decide to get physical and try to take their anger and tude out on me I would block them and give them about 1 minute to stop before I would gently , hopefully help them decide to stop.
IF they want to be jerks to people who are doing anything and everything for them, then those people would be allowed to go get themselves what the jerk wanted but bring the jerk nothing until they (the Jerk) get the point. The vast majority of them were taught not to behave like that so what in fall and winter makes them think they can behave the way they do to others???? It is uncalled for and unmerited!!! Hell NO!!!
Basically, I won't need to get physical to get the point across, just use some tough love techniques, one of which is to put a full-length mirror in front of her so she can see all she does!!!

I learned after that not to be calm or accepting of any of that. There were 2 other adults when I was 12, and several teen guys who tried but failed. The 2 when I was 12 halfway accomplished what they wanted by drugging me, but I became aware and stopped it before it went too far. These are just a few examples.
Girls/women, NEVER falsely accuse anyone or you are doubly guilty of the accusation.
😳 Gezus!! I'm so sorry that happened to you... & at such young ages when those around you should keep you always protected! 😔 I'm sorry.. 🙌🏼💫🤲🏼 wishing you strength, positivity & protection for the rest of your time on this crazy world! 💜

awe, you're gonna make me cry!!! I was actually lucky and did have good parents who did react as soon as they knew anything, and what happened to me was not due to neglect on their or anyone's part really. Just circumstances the predators latched onto and took advantage of in moments when things should have been safe, like sneaking into my bedroom and holding me at gunpoint, so they were there but asleep and didn't know. I was able to even tho I was only 4 ish tell on him for something he didn't say he would kill us off for and that brought him into my parent's attention. I never told anyone of the major one that happened around 12 because I felt I had stuck myself in that position and other things were small enough until people knew me, as we had recently moved at that point, I handled by kicking arse and most left me alone after that!!!
@@theducklinghomesteadandgar6639 oh I didn't mean to imply you were neglected by your parents.. I just mean because it was adults who harmed you.. adults are supposed to protect kiddos no matter, not take advantage of their vulnerability. That pisses me off to no end!! 😡 Good on you for fighting back!! I can't imagine the fright of going through that! Awful awful stuff. Thank God you made it through to the other side of all of it! 🙃👎 Have you ever thought of being a counselor for SA victims? Something tells me that you have a wealth of knowledge about life.

My Apologies sweetie!!! I didn't think you were implying my parents at all!!! I only brought that up because two other commenters did have neglectful parent/s. I think because my parents were so solid with each other and us is what allowed me to cope and get through what I did. Love blessings and peace to all good persons out there!!!
exactly. its less than 3% of rape allegations are "false" and only less that 1% of rapists actually ever get charged in general. anyone who treats all allegations like theyre fake is just admitting that they have the privelage of never having that type of fear, and also the fact that they are unable to have empathy or EQ for issues they don't experience.
5:30 Chevy Chase has been an arrogant arse ever since becoming famous and think so highly of himself so much that he never regained that fame of his while his contemporaries has achieved honorary legendary status with their respective body of work...
14:24 small wonder Steven Seagal, despite being prominent in the movie's poster in Executive Decision, was killed off early in the story line and left the completion of the movie to his co-stars... ever since Steven Seagal has only figured in B-movies straight to video with the same old tired action movie genre... serves him right...
Chevy Chase absolutely disgusts me amongst so many other disturbing revelations of other actors, some I wasn't surprised, it's such a shame.
Whats a common tactic for abusive women??? Bills a man so hes wrong
As a man who has been the victim of abuse of many kinds the fact you had to mention "tactics of abusive men" is hurtful and sexist, gender doesn't play a part there people are just toxic in general it it ends up creating more stereotypes about gender and downplaying what others face.
🙄
Well, if you're not an abusive man, why would that bother you? It's true about abusive men and it's good to mention this publicly. And yes, abuse toward men needs to be addressed publicly as well.
@@missylou725 You have worded that in such a way that most replies I could make can be shot down, point is use the word "toxic PEOPLE" as if the word men in particular is used it generates stereotypes in peoples minds, I mean people complain when theres auto assumptions about women so this should be no different in getting those stereotypes/assumptions stopped.
@@revengenerd1 except these are tactics used by men, especially in this case. Grow up and stop trying to cause trouble.
Pathetic.
Robert Mitchum had to beat some good manners into him during Out of the Past
Well, Steven Seagal was such a talent so you have to understand.
😅😂🤣🥴
Well he is best of the best at absolutely everything, right ?
5:44 Is that RDJ!
Yes it is
Run Ronnie Run 2 would be a no miss sequel but I heard it was nothing but fighting on set.
My dad called Marlon Brando a big sissy. And no, it wasn't a homosexual put down. Back in the later 30's and early 40's, a sissy was a man who was constantly afraid. My dad was a champion boxer and tended to judge other men by their physical prowess. BTW - before anyone claims that their dad's opinion of Brando was equal to my dad's opinion....... Francis Brando, Marlon's sister, was my dad's high school sweetheart.
Dustin Hoffman also slapped Meryl Streep right before the scene where she was leaving him. Her reaction was genuine.
There are plenty JA actors!
Don’t forget Wesley Snipes, Val Kilmer, And Mike Myers
I'm not surprised that Chevy chase is on this list he is such a jerk I hope he never works again
Remember his awkward talk show. Yikes
I have heard about him being a jerk & also Anne Hathaway.
you may not like everyone you work with you should respect others that you work with. Or else it could become a hostile work environment who wants to work in that type of environment spoiled adult actors Hollywood and their inflated egos.
Agree. Creating a hostile work environment is just as bad as directly insulting others
So how did Hoffman & Murray get along
(or not) when they were in "Tootsie"?
Don`t think Murray would have spent much time on the set, he doesn`t have many lines in that movie.
Kirk Douglas was not in the movie The Searchers.
They think they are God's gift to this earth, so sorry they are not, any one is replaceable
When Daniel Day-Lewis worked in Let There Be Blood, he should have asked everyone to call him: "Chews up the scenery."
Lea Michelle is thinking she is above he r3st
What about how horrible Nathan Fillion is? Especially toward Stana Katic??? This one really bummed me out because he always seems so funny and easy-going. I have always loved him. But hearing how terrible he is makes it hard to love him.
I'm still shocked about Noel Clarke. I loved growing his character Mickey grow in Doctor Who 😭😭
yep i agree most of us only knew him from Dr who and he wasn't bad on the show. Sad to find out how he really is in real life. Which is probably why many of us ONLY knew him on Dr who because no one wants to work with him.
I said the same thing. I love Dr Who. I guess you never know about some people.
I blame Ryan Murphy for the toxic atmosphere on the Glee set.
yes 3 people are dead in this cast
Because they are not heroes. They are just people with faults...like everybody has.
I'm not sure why no one every mentions this, but Richard Dreyfus has said that Bill Murray was a drunken bully on the set of "What about Bob?"
Perhaps true, but Dreyfus is no prize himself - So why would anyone listen to one jerk complaining about another jerk?
@@_XR40_ Exactly. Chase and Murray had a fistfight backstage at SML, and Dreyfuss has a bad rep too. Quite a little group there
@@pazza4555 It's also pretty much the same accusation Dreyfuss made against Robert Shaw during filming of _Jaws_ - Seems like his "go to" excuse...
Wow... I did not think Bill Murray was toxic or abusive. I always had an impression of him being funny in a dry dark humor way. But didn't think he was dark and unpleasant. Women do not deserve to be treated so degrading by their male co-stars. Not cool Bill..... I am so glad that her friends and also co-stars Drew and Cameron had her back. Female co-stars had a way of not getting involve or not defending their fellow female co-stars before, glad to see that they are sticking up for eachother now. That is the way it should of always been like. Cameron and Drew are amazing and glad they showed their support to their fellow friend and co-star Lucy. Though I can't imagine anyone mistreating Lucy for not being a professional, the woman can act. Bill this doesn't look good for you bro.. especially now with being a middle aged white guy in the movie industry and abuse of power is frowned upon..
Kirk Douglas was not in the movie “The Searchers”.
John Wayne. It was John Wayne who did that movie.
@@sharonjensen3016 Bad phrasing and a lame attempt to tie the story to a movie. Apparently the incident happened while _The Searchers_ was being filmed. Some audition appointment - Nothing to do with the film or Wayne...
@@_XR40_ Okay.
It's so disappointing to see them in this light, Hollywood is crumbling anyway and people do not idolise these people anymore.
COVID greatly helped Hollywood to become irrelevant more than ever.
The shiny veneer got cracked
@@kg9836 I'm glad it did!
There were always jerks there, we just didn't hear about it most of the time.
Everyone thinks that these people are jerks but yet everyone also falls all over themselves when they walk into the room
Lea Michele is no joke. I was an extra on GLEE and she was definitely not a nice person.
It's funny that Leguizamo is a classically trained actor and Seagal is clearly...not. 🤔
I find it funny that Seagal is considered an actor in the first place.
Seagul only got by with his akido nonsense thinking he was all that.
@@kennethrussell1158 🤣👍💯
Anybody notice that the mistreatment behind the scenes caused a real decline in those TV shows on this list
This is all such cases of being “too big for their britches” !
Lardervwas in Legally Blond.....I love her
"Loveable Rachel Berry" 💀💀💀
I think things are finally out in the open and change is happening. People are not putting up with abuse and bullying anymore. We are making progress.
Did she really say that Daniel Day-Lewis will drink his detractors milk shake?
Does she not know what that means?
Daniel Day-Lewis is nuts.
It would be great if co-stars, crew, etc. felt (and were) empowered enough to call out the bad behaviour immediately, either to whoever's in charge, or to the police, depending on the issue.
F*** these entitled people. They think because they can repeat lines that others wrote in a manner that the Director tells them to, that their poop doesn't smell. I hate bullies.
Note: I'm not talking about someone being brusque or a bit rude, people have bad days and are under a lot of pressure. It's the assaults, real abuse, and verbal 'torture' that needs to be reported and dealt with.
If you can't be a polite human being you don't deserve to work in any field. The way actors where treated before the rise of the reality star or what I call the end of Hollywood. It's one of the reasons why Johnny Depp opened the viper room. So the true ones to the craft could actually be themselves. But now everyone is a star... Ppl are just rude n crude.
