There’s actually no sbmm in the normal playlists except for the welcome playlist and competitive! It’s such a fun game and sniping is so crispy, definitely gonna be grinding the crap out of this game.
The point of the sbmm which corporations used was to create false user retention rate. Fortunately Xdefiant would provide competition and force the industry to respond to gamers demands.
Ubisoft added Master Chief in Rainbow 6 Siege, so they might just also add him to this game. But honestly, I want the devs to add ODSTs as they'll be more fitting here than the Spartans.
Technically, modern gaming in this context is just the FPS genre. But yeah they definitely saved it, and based on the track record of many other Ubisoft games. Updates will keep going on for more than 5 years based on The Division 2 and The Crew 2. Let's just hope they don't release a terrible update that stays. They usually do a good job at listening to feedback starting out.

Maybe I'm missing something but there is such a small amount of content in this game. I've played maybe 6-7 hours and have already run out of new things to do or new weapons to use. Weapon levels are also very slow and tedious to grind. It's missing a lot

I don't know about "saved modern gaming" because if you look at this game it's horrible. Compare it for example to 13 years old Battlefield 4 from the graphics, to animations,to the sounds.. Not to mention the atrocious hit reg/netcode problems. Not gonna lie the game plays well when it works, but if it was 2012, people would laugh at it even at those times. Modern gaming is still going the wrong direction
A lot of people talk about the features missing from Infinite but I think something that's overlooked a lot is just having a well designed UI/UX helps a game A LOT. It feels so obvious that a lot of issues stem from not being able to add new menus and interactions in those menus, something that was definitely prioritised for XDefiant. Features like map/mode select, lobbies, customisation, career, profile etc are not easy things to do, but go a long way. Just a thought.
The purifier guy with the Molotov and the flamethrower completely counters the defense phantom guy. I had two guys pop their shield ults and the flamethrower annihilated them outside of their shield.
Idk if this game will get off the ground, but I love it and I hope it can succeed. I love COD but I don’t think it’s the same nowadays. This brings me back to the Black ops 3 days ( favorite game in the series)

my favorite games right now (the finals and halo infinite) both are really great games that have fun gameplay loops but they both fall short due to horrible sbmm. Both games have casual/quick play modes that are sweatier than ranked playlists

We would appreciate the support.” As opposed to Halo which is an XBOX FLAG SHIP FRANCHISE that had no business going F2P. From the perspective of halo fans, they gutted all the customization to sell back to us, to make extra money. They weren’t gambling on the success of halo. People were always going to buy halo, even at $40, $60, or $70. That’s not the same gamble as a fresh franchise, and no one asked for it. That was on top of the fact that they promised “Halo Reach levels of customization”, which doesn’t mean much when 90%+ is paywalled.
My biggest issue with the game is that there is like no balance between the characters and guns. Like some things are just objectively better then some other things.
No SBMM is the only reason I play this. I honestly don't believe XDefiant has anything else of interest that would make people want to play it besides being f2p if it had the same aggressive matchmaking systems as Halo and CoD which punish you for doing well. Not having SBMM is the incentive to play this game. Gunplay and character movement doesn't feel as good as other shooters but I'm still having a blast! Ubisoft did well.
Mint, i honestly suggest to go and try out The FInals. You will be surprised at how good of a game it is and how much the devs listen to the community, plus season 3 starts in 21 days
The SBMM ruined it for me. I remember loving the beta and the first week of release. Then they updated the matchmaking… night and day difference. For my mixed skill friend group in particular, all the fun disappeared.
I do like that the game was made by the old school Call of Duty devs and the weapons actually PERTAIN THE REAL NAME and not like "Ow, man, I just dinged that guy in the dome with my .408 Lapua Magnum... Perpetrator."
Tried xDefiant last night, Hot Shot mode was really fun. Basically Halo Reach's Headhunter. I'll definitely be playing more, has some good variety and the maps are fun. Died alot trying to get controller settings just right. I have a tiny bit more respect for the devs of xDefiant, not so much Ubisoft as a whole
I touched mw2 2019 when it first came out with my twin, we hated it because of the match making we could not come home from school and just enjoy ourselves without sweating. I told my twin about xdefiant yesterday and we gave it a go. I must say it has been the most fun I've had in a long time I refrained from touching a lot of fps games because of the match making systems but now I think I'm back.
I hope this game takes a top 10 spot on consol or steam. I basically stopped playing competitive multi-player after halo infinite kept making me so angry at the sbmm. This game was like drinking fresh water after nothing but soda for a decade
Ive been having an absolute blast on this game,its fun,fast paced,balanced and refreshing. I havent had any issues with lag or bugs and the sbmm feels verry balanced. Some games ill go 40 -10 others itll be more even with ppl on my level and i have to sweat it out but i dont mind the challenge cuz its not EVERY match. Games like apex or cod you cant just chill and be casual youre always sweating and feel drained. That and you almost HAVE to use the meta,so far ive found i can pop off with most things. Very surprised ubisoft made it free,hoping this game blows up

I didn't even know this game existed until my cousin said something about it. I thought it was gonna be lame as hell cause he described it as "call of duty and overwatch"...but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was just objective based gameplay that was...FUN! I can't remember the last time I've played a shooter that was legitimately just FUN to play. And the crazy part is this is just the pre-season.
My opinion on this game is that is fun, but it’s just ok for me, loved the original SBMM model and I love how you can just sit back and play it. But I’m not a huge fan of the Specialist abilities. A lot of the reason I didn’t find it too enjoyable is that I just don’t have the patience for PVP, I didn’t feel to engaged. So it’s Good not Great and Not Bad
The funny thing is I’ve seen a lot of people crying on Reddit and other social media about getting clapped by tryhards and sweats in this game. Those are the people SBMM is meant to help, now they’re bitching about having SBMM in cod and having no SBMM in XDefiant.
I like the overall idea and concept of the game, but when I was playing earlier today I'm not sure if it was just server issues but my actions were heavily delayed, such as deploying shield, bullets weren't registering even though hitmarkers were comping up
Also the menus are pretty shite at the moment, no way to quick exit out of screens to stop searching immediately, hope they add a feature to skip screens and intros
I like Splatoon like Splatoon 3, retired from CoD, and also XDefiant is fun right now. Because I do not like SBMM back then, so Splatoon and XDefiant is fun PvP games.

Was going to download it, but ugh. Ubisoft launcher...
I didn't even know this game existed until my cousin said something about it. I thought it was gonna be lame as hell cause he described it as "call of duty and overwatch"...but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was just objective based gameplay that was...FUN! I can't remember the last time I've played a shooter that was legitimately just FUN to play. And the crazy part is this is just the pre-season.
My opinion on this game is that is fun, but it’s just ok for me, loved the original SBMM model and I love how you can just sit back and play it. But I’m not a huge fan of the Specialist abilities. A lot of the reason I didn’t find it too enjoyable is that I just don’t have the patience for PVP, I didn’t feel to engaged. So it’s Good not Great and Not Bad

The funny thing is I’ve seen a lot of people crying on Reddit and other social media about getting clapped by tryhards and sweats in this game. Those are the people SBMM is meant to help, now they’re bitching about having SBMM in cod and having no SBMM in XDefiant.
I’m glad that they’re finally fixing SBM in some games. Gosh that stuff was annoying! I just realized that sniper is a super cursed Mosin Nagant! 😂

I like the overall idea and concept of the game, but when I was playing earlier today I'm not sure if it was just server issues but my actions were heavily delayed, such as deploying shield, bullets weren't registering even though hitmarkers were comping up
Also the menus are pretty shite at the moment, no way to quick exit out of screens to stop searching immediately, hope they add a feature to skip screens and intros

I like Splatoon like Splatoon 3, retired from CoD, and also XDefiant is fun right now.
Because I do not like SBMM back then, so Splatoon and XDefiant is fun PvP games.

Fair SBMM my ass, XDefiant has the sweatiest players fighting a noob myself. Also hit detection is so bad in it, game felt better in Beta.
When Ubisoft actually makes a new Splinter Cell game instead of using the IP to promote more games as a service crap is when gaming will be saved.

XDefiant is a dry bare bones clone of cod
right so its a modern COD game the only difference is SBMM

I love the Factions of the game, reminds me of the old Party Discs were a bunch of IPs just duked it out. Hot Shot has to be my favorite, a little VIP mixed with Kill Confirmed.
