I was standing right next to the ice. You can see my hands clapping. Combo was not cheated and she deserved to win the short. She was the best skater that evening. Unless you're there and on the ice or a tech controller or specialist then stop
That's an absolutely idiotic point of view. If technical specialists are doing their job poorly, which they clearly did in this particular instance, they should be called out for it and this error should be pointed out. This blessed title of a judge or a technical specialist is not some holy thing. They just go through a basic training and examination which allows them to judge international competitions. They don't have any divine authority and are not anointed by a king. They make mistakes, intentionally or not.
@@antong1036 the correct skater won the short program that evening, and there was nothing wrong with her combo. Tech specialists have to go through intensive training, not basic. Any idiot with little or no skating knowledge however can make videos and try to point out technical flaws with are erroneous.
@@bendonna I do not remember that particular competition well, so I do not presume to name the right winner. However, if you refuse to see what's in this video before your very eyes, go ahead, I'm not stopping you. To me, it's not the end result that matters, it's the actual jumps and programs I enjoy.
Gracie's lip/lutz may seem "cheated" on the entrance because of the way she taps with her free foot. Although she is using only her pick to "tap" (and not using any edge, like Medyedeva, which effectively makes these toe-assisted jumps into "loop" jumps), she taps using her pinkie toe. To eliminate any chance for a cheat, she must instead tap using her big toe (just like Tara Lipinski did, although she did flutz), or at the very least her middle toe (just like Nancy Kerrigan's lutz/lip).
What is the point of this? Assuming it is correct, did it steal a medal from anyone? The judges call them as they see them. They don't have hours to do slo-mo with "exit trajectory" lines. And let's see the winner's triple lutz to see if it was on the right edge.
lz is not deep outside and prerotated. flip looks like a bad lz entrance. the only cheat here would be the prerotation, but people seem to not care about that now (esp when defending a certain group of skaters)

@@antong1036 I saw it in live in person about ten feet from the ice.
@@bendonna not sure what that proves.
How can you cheat in figure skating? If the judges didn't catch a mistake that's on them, not a diabolical plot by the skater.
PubliusAfricanus jumps are called "cheated" when theyre under-rotated
+jogiff ... Oh, then let them all in I guess! No need for borders or laws and shit! Marxism for everyone!

STOP TRYING TO BE KOOLA KING
Samantha Li Agree!
Whoever made this video probably can't even do a double. She is still fantastic. As they say haters gonna hate.
Hates gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate it's what they do...

High time for watching Ashley Wagner's jumps :)
Maybe if they have given her a fair score, she wouldn’t go so pressured for the free skate 😭
worlds were in Boston that year
American had to get a medal there and that's it. Some things were ignored. She shouldn't have won SP there and it's constantly overscored PCS wise
name of music please
Carmen Habanera. If you watch figure skating enough, this music basically pops up every year like some anthem 😂😂
Wow she is such a beautiful Skater
