Hey all! - This is one of the most requested bosses I've gotten in a while and it was more challenging to break down than I had anticipated. With Rally of Pestilence, I actually meant to say "Stress-Hit your team" and not just "hit your team." :P Overall, I don't think this boss is particularly hard, you just have to think about group makeup and prepare for phases - which is how we approach a lot of vanilla bosses anyway. Basically what happens when relatively simplistic tactical normal gameplay meets transcended galaxy brain puzzle boss at the end of a potentially tough dungeon.
I know you are not uploading cause of your sickness, I was wondering how is going now? Is it getting worst or better, I know it really a tuff road for you, good luck
UPDATE FOR ANYONE USING THIS GUIDE. On the lastest version of the Vermintide Mod there is a cursed censor in front of the preist, either you break it and enter phase 2 of this video, or you take the plague priest to 0 on the first phase. That is all.
I have to admit, this boss has been absolute chore and a pretty.. Well, boring thing to deal with. You need the perfect party for it, otherwise its a guaranteed wipe no matter what you do. There's zero flexibility in what you can bring and unless you go out your way for a guide, you're going to have to sacrifice at least one run to learn the frustrating gimmicks of the bastard.
While I really like the Mod as a whole, this Boss' design seems pretty flawed to me as it heavily limits your team building Options (unlike the base game where you can bring literally any hero to any boss (maybe not Hag) and atleast have a decent chance depending on your teambuilding skills
Lore wise I love this boss tho I kinda wish he could reference Lord Skrolk a bit more. Whwn ypu fight skaven hybrid boss, you can clearly tell it's a reference to throt the unclean. The plague priests however look like generic ones and not a lord skrolk wannabes.
I just downloaded vermintide based on your overview video, and I’m enjoying it a lot! The enemies are unique and the bosses are that perfect balance of enjoyable yet difficult! Keep up the good work!

This boss was REALLY a pain in the neck. I was lucky that I was running a PD, Jester, Occ, Leper team, and so when I met him I was able to buff my Leper enough to one-shot the bastard… still, it’s absolutely unfair, because if you don’t have a party comp that’s either able to stack dots or do THIS, you’re just royally phuked
I think it may have been updated, I played the Easy version of this boss a while back, probably the end of 2022 and it was the same as the video. But now playing the Champion version I noticed that he spawns with a "Plague Censer" and came back to notice that wasn't in your video, he also doesn't seem to heal once I "kill" the first Plague Censer that spawns
Yep they completely changed the fight, ironically it's the exact opposite of original. The original was a puzzle and not a damage race, but now he reduces healing over time making it a race to kill him or else you can't out-heal him. (This is written after beating him)
Jeez, this guy seems like a lot. You need both high dot damage, high single target punch, blight heal/prevent, hp heal, and stress management? Maybe I'm overthinking it but it sounds like so much. I wonder if you could skip on a plague doctor with enough blight resist trinkets.
So I think there's a lot of options on this boss. One thing I should have mentioned is that a lot of vermintide Trinkets help counter some of these issues. The map on the Flag here also marks targets automatically and the box on the Vestal does stress heal on friendly target spells. So these things help a lot and blight resist is universally valuable against skaven and could be strong here.
Seeing this vermintide stuff got me thinking. The Warhams crew as modded classes. Lorn: Powerful Space Wizard, requires constant stress management else he falls to the Perils of the Warp. MOLTEN BEEEEAM. Reeb: A combat medic, who's knowledge of unatural medicine allows him to both heal his allies and harm his enemies, either with precise shots from a Lasgun or a torrent from his flamer. Captain Zedik: A stress healer/support, character. His stress heals increase as the enemies fall or you team falls. Pj Braine: He first observes his targets looking for weaknesses and strengths, building his damage and resistance in the rear ranks. Before activating his kill protocol and charging directly into the melee.
I love everything about what you just said. Should have references to other things that happened in the series for their camping skills, like "FUCKERBEE..." For Lorn, where he curses Fuckerbee to get a stress heal, and Uncle Hedge Hedge's cooking for the Captain to give everyone a hp heal and maybe a bonus to max hp from getting so good hobbit food in their bellies.
@angelangelis8362 Honestly, the most broken bit about the crew would be Reeb's unnatural medicae. A free action heal. Just why not. But now that i consider it. The Vermintide cast would be far more fitting and superior. Saltz would likely either be his Warrior preist, with loads of stuns and access to an Aegis. Or a mix of his Witch Hunter Captain and Bounty Hunter. Kruber could likely just be a mix of his Grail and Foot knight skills. Not sure about the sidequests, tho. Featuring Hew and Split, but powerful. But Bardin, puts a hard choice in my path. Do we design him as a slayer, leaping from rank 4, to just turn his enemies into mincemeat. Or do we potray him as his Outcast Engineer, unloading dozens of rounds from a steampunk minigun. Sienna i could see as a character who's whole shick is that she either just destory's the opposition in an inferno, but has a ramping chance that she'll just explode. Dealing massive damage to your team.

I got this quest for apprentice level, without guides I figured out dots would be key. However phase two began dropping my teams HP to between 7-14 HP max. I was too scared of losing my trinkets and legged it out of there. I never looked at the damage debuff for phase two, and was planning to come back with modded class Wanderer and a Jester and was planning to seppuku for massive damage at death's door with wanderer, followed by finale with Jester in the hopes of 2 shotting him in phase 2. Lucky I watched this guide before attempting it again, else I could of lost my trinkets.
I see your watch repair channel has taken precedence at this point. Both are interesting, but this one seems more like a hobby about a game, and the other seems more like a job about a hobby. :)
So modded game wise: just bring the eternal and use wither to nuke his ability to heal early to avoid unnecessary damage and disease stacking and then crit him out with finale and damage amp stacking. gotcha. Maybe the meister for acupuncture to clear debuffs or chaplain to fortify to clear debuffs and guarantee crits for later with paragon pact? :V _[downloads the mod to sneak a peak at the files]_ well frick. his debuffs can't be cured. dunno what I expected. MAXIMUM DAMAGE BUFF/DAMAGE AMP STACKING with healing received debuff character as core it is.
Having watched 2 different people fight this boss and reading/listening to the discussions about him, I got half of how to fight him right. (Mind you I came a year late to the party, soooooo....) I was wondering if the way to kill him changed at some point, because 1 of the play through killed him and the other was a retreat. I watched the successful run twice and still could not figure out how they killed him. I DID notice that physical attacks did nothing and that it kept showing -% heal and that was confusing. Thank you for explaining this. I must say I REALLY(!!) like this boss,because it appears to be much more complicated than all the rest. Not that a great many other bosses are not HIGHLY dangerous, but the approach to them seems to be fairly straight forward; this boss is not. It would be interesting to see how different groups fair against him- both vanilla characters and modded. Personally I am thinking Thrall/Crusader/Jester/PD/Vestal/GR in some combination would work. T= is just a beast. C= tank+heal+stress heal. J=Finale. PD=blight+heal+blight removal. Vestal= heal, duh. GR= blight + damage. Thank you for doing this.

@@anarchistlilia is there CC that stops heals and isnt stun? cant think of any you could try for a buff stacking group. you lower his accuracy(is that considered cc? the only other thing i can think of as cc is AOE) ...then stack jester till he can 1-shot in 2nd ground.

Does Crimson Curse protect you from the 2nd phase disease? Could be a pretty cheesy way of bypassing the debuffs

I used Vestal/PD/MAA/Leper. You can easily beat him down in the second phase with all the buffs on the leper

Thats what i did, i was checking all my heroes for abilities with healing received debuffs and it turns out Eternal has one such ability.
