This is extremely unsafe and not approved by the car manufacturers or the child seat! Isofix anchors are tested to withstand 1350 kg of force .. this is just stuck in the seat cushion
I bought this isofix attachment universal, but my seats do not fold down at all, the seats are completely sealed separate from trunk space and idk how to install these attachments. I have a 1998 toyota avalon xl, and they did not make my vehicle with the latch system until I think 2000 or 2001, I'm not sure exactly but do know it's definitely not on my car. How do I go about mounting these brakets,I don't have the ability to go to a dealership and have them install for me, which ide heard is what the car company will do if your car doesn't have the isofix built into it...for free even. But closest toyota dealership for me where I'm at right now would be a 5 hour drive. And I have two 10 speakers already mounted into my trunk space, lol, so this is going to be a pain. But regardless, I'm going to do what ever it takes to ensure my sons safe in our vehicle. I'd trade my speaker system for my kids saftey without a question of course. I'm not finding anything online showing how to install on a 1998 toyota avalon, no where, ans I've been researching this for months.
@@preciousmutegevu1036 no, I didn't, I have just been using the seat belt straps. Sucks cus I bought this awsome booster seat that was way expensive with the rigid quick release clip things, specifically got it for the saftey purposes, and now I'm realizing I could of saved like 100$ and got the regular carseat since the rigid connectors aren't even being used, can't be used. I called the dealership and even the guy there didn't know what part they would need to install, he thought my seat folded down, it definitely does not its a solid piece of metal behind the back of the seat. I knew this though since I've wired my speakers to the trunk running the wires through the little holes other wiring went through the back for my speakers and amp. So frustrating not being able to easily install anything to add saftey to my older vehicle, and I love my car, It shouldnt be so difficult to install a carseat mount. Wasted all this money on a saftey feature I can't even install or use. The mount was like 40$ and the carseat that has the rigid connector was a good 100$ more than the regular carseats, paid like 180 for carseat, then 40$ for adapter, lol, feel kind of stupid here. Really wish Toyota would resolve this issue with older vehicles they didn't install this connector on.
Ya i bought that after realizing the only difference between the carseat i bought was the 60$ price difference and the isofix latch system on it..and i learned my car totally is too old and didnt come with the isofix latch system and so i bought this to install...and well now im just feeling stupid because since the installing the isofix brackets ide need to install, my kids now 8 year's old and hes in a booster seat now...to mount the brackets would involve completely disassembling my whole bsckseat cus they are not fold down and are totally sealed fixed in place .and even if I did that ill have to also rewire and redo and unmount my two 10 inchs and amps all mounted in my trunk to be able to acess the backsides of my back seats...this is on my 99 toyota avalon and im sorry but with all those factors involved im just not going to do it not worth it and probably just selling my super awsome expensive carseat i bout a year ago :( love my car but its just not meant to have the isofix.
I think the point is well made but for a quick video the guy is showing just how the universal bracket would locate and lock the isofix base on the seat. Note that even without bolting the bracket that once clipped in place, the seat has nowhere to go. Obviously a person would securely bolt the bracket onto the seat (which for a layperson may be far more difficult to do than if appears)
Also you can buy it on Amazon: Aliexpress: www.aliexpress.com/item/Universal-Latch-ISOFIX-Belt-Interfaces-Guide-Retainer-Thicken-Steel-Car-Seat-Bracket-For-Child-Safety-Seat/32949411965.html?spm=2114.search0604.0.0.1c0e5f50FM5bjD

I was also wondering, if it is safe.
If you have an old car without isofix fittings here is a more comprehensive guide how to retrofit them: ua-cam.com/video/dZokJ-iPM7E/v-deo.html

Did you finally figure this out?

I guess you will have to dismantle the seats. For interest here is my fitting guide (seats that fold again) ua-cam.com/video/dZokJ-iPM7E/v-deo.html

It safe?
Dangerous! You're forgetting the top tether!
not all cars with factory mounted isofix have that either
You didn't even bolt it in 😂
