For a program that prides itself on being the best ever, that is a really pathetic way of looking at your competition. You are Alabama, not Montana State.
Conference champions getting automatic bids as well as the top-rated G5 was the way the CFP kept anti-trust action being launched. Toss a few crumbs to the others while keeping the SEC and B1G happy so no one gets upset at the CFP for being a monopoly.
They lost to two 6 loss teams tf did they expect 😂 literally just had to go 1-1 against Vandy and garbage OU and they'd be in but couldn't even do that.
I’m not seeing elected officials in Alabama threatening to take the committee to court for being left out. 9-3 bama has had better wins than undefeated FSU. Oh and our starters are playing in the bowl game
Alabama and Florida State were plenty deserving last year. Alabama was just better. They didn't deserve it this year, and SMU did. Still, Bama's resume is better. Good wins beat good losses any day.
I graduated from Alabama. We didnt deserve it. The entitlement of my friends regarding the program and the SEC is ridiculous and off putting. They think i am the crazy one for not being outraged
I had an LSU fan at my cigar lounge arguing for Bama to get it..and why not Army because they had one loss..instead of arguing in circles..I told him to put his application in so he can join the committee, that way we'd know everything was fair..he laughed at shut up.
The SEC is far and away the hardest conference and that should be taken into account. That being said I think the committee got it right last year and this year. I don’t think Clemson should be in: I think SMU and South Carolina should. The top 5 highest conference winners should NOT automatically get a bid. We all want to see the best 12 teams competing and no one wants to see a 1 or no loss team left out, but at some point the strength of schedule has to be taken into consideration. The SEC and B10 will try to leave the ncaa if they don’t get their way on this, and I think that would be exponentially worse for college football than sec or B10 teams getting the benefit of the doubt for playing hard conference schedules. - a Mizzou fan
I feel like this whole debate, mostly boils down to what someone thinks is more important: a good win or a bad loss. For the longest time, the bad losses were easily the most important stat in college football, but it feels like we’re moving to a system (and it’s being slowly pushed by media and the committee) where, similarly to college basketball, “who did you beat?” is more important than “who did you/how many did you lose to?” Alabama is trying to jump the gun on this change, but it isn’t gonna work right now, but the thing is I have a feeling that if this situation arose five years from now, Alabama might be over SMU.
Man yall just were ready to talk bad about bama😂 one i don’t think it bad we missed it but yall doing some insane bias against them. Bama had the best resume vs top 25 teams, that ALONE based off what the committee said should’ve had us in there but 2 unranked losses took us off which I don’t think anyone could disagree. Acting like the schedule weaker teams isn’t a legitimate argument is being biased too. Who was tougher Vandy or North Illinois or who ever SMU best victory. Acting like Bama and the rest of the sec schedule weren’t FACTUALLY a lot tougher than SMU, ND, Boise and so on is just ignoring the truth to fit current narratives. Y’all don’t like bama and want to be biased against them BUT this definitely open the door for things yall going to complain about more. If SOS and key victories matter bama got snubbed if records matter more than anything they didn’t deserve it BUT also teams will now simply ONLY schedule those Mercer games🤷🏽♂️
I'm a Bama fan and I was saying all along that Bama didn't deserve to be in. Not with 3 losses and who two of those losses were against. Utterly embarrassing 😳
Hardly any bama fans are arguing we should’ve been in. More of us are arguing about SOS. The format and logic has got to be fixed. Georgia is 4-0 against current playoff teams while Texas, Penn State, Indiana, Clemson, and SMU have done pretty much nothing against any decent team. There shouldn’t be that large of a discrepancy between playoff teams.
I definitely think Scott and I see College football from the same perspective. Had the poll bias not been a factor, Alabama probably doesn't have a quality win except the Georgia win. At the start of the season , the SEC had 5 teams ranked in the top 10 in Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Missouri. 4 more teams were from the Big 10 in Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan. This is of course atrocious. Week by week the SEC kept getting rotated in the top 10 while other teams were being regulated to be outside of the Top 10 like BYU , Pitt, Iowa State, and Indiana.... You can't justify putting 2 loss Miami behind 3 loss Alabama.
Watching them moan is hilarious, there's zero reasons they should ever have even been considered. But they can moan all they want and we can just laugh at them
Alabama making the playoffs last year was fine with me. They made it to the playoffs by beating no. 1 (at the time) Georgia and their only loss was to another top four team. They had a better set of wins and a one win difference between two conference champion teams isn't that big of a deal. Last year was just unfortunate because there were like eight teams who were playoff worthy but only half of them could make it. Obviously the top four were playoff worthy, but healthy FSU, Georgia, Oregon, and OSU also could have beat any of the playoff teams. The real difference this year is that Alabama isn't a dominant team. They lost to Vanderbilt and got blown out by a mid Oklahoma team.
Neither of these teams shouldn’t have made the playoffs. Florida State, the reason they didn’t get in was because they didn’t have that top 10 marquee win that the other four teams that made the playoffs did. It’s obvious as to why a 9-3 Alabama with a loss to a bad Oklahoma team didn’t make it lol
Only reason why FSU didn’t get in last year was because of how bad they looked without Jordan Travis. If Brock Glenn even looked decent in the games he started they would’ve gotten the nod, but at that point bama was the better team simply because of FSU’s offensive drop off after losing their starting QB.
Tbh as a bama fan I’m not even mad about them not making the playoffs. I mean we deserve not to be in the playoffs. Plus we weren’t gonna be ready anyway. Freshman secondary defenders 1st year head coach and 1st year offense coriander. Milroe was/is dog water. Been a bama fan my whole life but bama really doesn’t deserve the playoffs. I hope milroe gets drafted bc I really don’t wanna see him back
Alabama fans despite winning for the last decade and a half have always been the biggest crybabies. They've never been able to take a loss well. They finally lost enough games to miss the playoffs, and now the world is getting to see how soft Bama actually is.
The argument is there. It's just a school of thought that I agree with you is dumb. The school of thought is: Best teams in NOT most deserving was the standard set last year -> Look at strength of schedule and performance vs total competition -> Look at the SMU VS Alabama mythical point spread -> Because they'd be favored and performed better than SMU would have against the same schedule-> They must be better -> They must be in the playoff. Not to mention cherry on top, The Georgia win is a top 3 win in the country. The real argument for them has nothing to do with top 25 wins as a whole and rather entire strength of schedule and performance against said schedule.
Even though they lost those games they did beat some good teams. The coach needs to learn how to make adjustments which he did not do. I'm still impressed they beat UGA Mizzou LSU and SC all still ranked. 9-3 in the sec ain't bad at all.
I feel like "ENTITLED" is a more appropriate word and description for 'Bama and even the SEC as a whole (and they're media supporters (see Paul Finebaum))
It's a 7 team at large decision (5 automatics). Soft is beating zero currently ranked opponents: SMU, Indiana, Texas. Soft is only defeating one low level currently ranked opponent: Notre Dame. When your absolute ceiling is losing to a #16 and #17 ranked team, why are you ranked in the top 12 (SMU)? Oregon, Georgia, and Bama have 3 wins or above over currently ranked opponents.
As an Alabama fan, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. BUT, neither does SMU or Clemson. I do not care that they made it to their conference championship filled with teams that are borderline handicapped. Whether you like Alabama or not, they've done enough in this sport to have respect to being 1 rank away from making the playoffs in a coaching staffs first year. The disrespect for Alabama is crazy, and anyone who acts like Alabama didnt have a pretty strong case to make the playoffs are simply just biased.
Idk, for me Ive always been against the “strength of schedule” teams in these situations. Even in the NCAA tourney, when folks pull it out of a hat for a 14-15 loss team that was under 500 in conference. Bama cant, and I mean CANT let 2 of their 3 losses be Vandy and OU. I think you and every Bama would have a crazy solid case if those are great losses: Texas, A&M, UGA, Ole Miss, Tennessee…but they arent. When do the losses matter? When does winning your games you should win matter? Bama isn’t the only team that had that happen: CU is sitting at the crib due to KU. Miami picked the wrong time to fumble GT and Syracuse. Today its 3 loss teams, tomorrow its the 5th place SEC/Big Ten team with 4 losses. 😅
I agree 💯, smu deserved it more, bama thinks they should get in because of what saban built, well saban isnt there no more, so they gotta work for it real hard now!
The worst is that the college football playoffs will have to bend to Alabama and SEC whining. (But I can't be mad at last year's Rose Bowl...the two team with a glorious Pasadena backdrop was a thing of absolute beauty. And it was a great game.)
Facts bro because delusional bandwagon Alabama fans and people who only love the SEC will criticize the playoffs because they think the SEC should get favoritism
Contrast the whining Alabama has done to what Dan Lanning said about the path to the championship for Oregon. We won every game, finished #1. The reward is potentially the hardest path to the National Championship. Dan just said that winning championships wasn't supposed to be easy. I'm with Dan. The opponents are the opponents. We're 0-0 in a three game season.
How about this... Alabama's FPI - 4th, SMU - 13th, Clemson - 15th. Alabama's SP+ - 5th, SMU 12th, Clemson - 17th. SOS Alabama - 9th. SMU and Clemson's SOS not even top 50. Neither is Boise St. but they get the group of 5 bid. Let's face it, ACC and Big 12 (other than ASU) are weak this year. Alabama would beat the hell out of SMU, Clemson, and Boise St. Setting the group of 5 sympathy bid aside, I thought this was about getting the best teams to face off.
Those comparisons at the end make no sense. College football is nothing like the NBA or pewee football. College football teams have wildly varying levels of talent and play wildly varying schedules. Going strictly by record is stupid for cfb. By that logic, Army would be your 2 seed and have a first round bye this year. As a Bama fan, I have no gripe with being left out. My gripe is more about how bad this committee is and how awful they were at using things like SOS, quality wins, that kind of thing into account. Teams like Texas, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Penn State got way too much credit for "playing the best teams tough" and beating up on a bunch of bad competition. Also the auto bids and the way the byes are formatted is god awful
Alabama‘s reason to not play big out of conference games it’s kind of backwards. Look at Clemson. They played well enough in their conference after losing to Georgia and played well enough in the ACC to make their conference game and won the conference game. As far as I know, you can lose two out of conference games beat up on all your conference opponents and still make the playoffs so out of conference games doesn’t matter if you handle your business in conference. Which is something Alabama did not do. They’re just mad that they didn’t get a chance to sit at home while teams like Georgia and SMU. Risk there players in an extra game. And get into the playoff a Mickey Mouse Way.
Alabama doesnt deserve to get into this playoff. With how its set up, they dont meet the criteria or play in a weak enough conference to rack up a Boise state, Arazona State, Clemson, SMU, Record. The team at their best beats any team in the nation, with how they have been performing however its understandable to why they dont deserve a spot. If it was the top 12 teams in the country, theyre in, and half of the non Big-10, non SEC teams in right now would be out. Im not the first to say this, but strength of schedule in the future doesnt matter at all under this Playoff System. Boise state had the 78th hardest strength of schedule, they lost to the only good team they faced, all be it close. Arazona State had the 62nd. SMU had the 57th. If the only thing that matters is the lower number on the right then why risk at all, its a silly system and to point at Alabama fans for being upset that easy schedules get awarded, is misplaced. I think a really good demonstration is coming up in Texas Vs. Clemson, where the ACC champion will surely beat the loser of the SEC championship... That would be crazy if Texas like blew them out, no??
Alabama non-con is always weak. They stay playing playing Georgia Southern, Chattanooga and South Florida… USF btw has blown the upset two years in a row now
Bama is soft without Saban, Debour let #13 throw his tantrum after they lost. The returning talent just seemed worse. their bowl game is even soft. If you want to be good, you have to have good discipline. That's why Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, and Oregon win games. GO BLUE

That’s why Saban left
Those McDonald's bags of money lol
100% facts. Alabama and Nick Saban were the only ones that was complaining about NIL
@@Kings0424they’re just crying about not having an advantage anymore
@@ChiefBlue4298 For real bro. All of that big brand, TV rating, who bring in more money, things like that doesn't matter anymore in college football
Don't get beat by 2 different 6 loss teams, let alone get beat down by 3 scores by one of them. 😂

Schedule easy non conference games if you are in the SEC because that’s the hardest league to play in. Don’t blame Alabama at all.

(humps shoulders) army has a stronger case for bein in than SMU
The SEC is overrated
Alabama is a spoiled kid
The Vols, Vandy and Oklahoma took em out back to that wood shed.
@@nicke1903 especially Oklahoma they gave them that good old yeller treatment
Alabama loves to play cupcakes in non conference and will continue to do so. They hate it when people don't bend to them, sorry you are not that good
I feel like this whole debate, mostly boils down to what someone thinks is more important: a good win or a bad loss. For the longest time, the bad losses were easily the most important stat in college football, but it feels like we’re moving to a system (and it’s being slowly pushed by media and the committee) where, similarly to college basketball, “who did you beat?” is more important than “who did you/how many did you lose to?”
Alabama is trying to jump the gun on this change, but it isn’t gonna work right now, but the thing is I have a feeling that if this situation arose five years from now, Alabama might be over SMU.
The shitty part is that Alabama bitching may get them to change to 14 or 16 teams, instead of keeping it at 12 cause a big brand got the axe
True
I agree that the committee got it right. In my opinion, Bama is a better team than SMU but SMU is the more deserving team.
Facts bro
They lost to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt lol
Their argument makes zero sense. Their SOS was the only reason a 9-3 team with two bad losses even sniffed the playoff over a 11-2 P4 team
UCF Fans: First time?
No it's because people like you only cares about the damn SEC and y'all so SEC bias to the point that y'all only want the big schools in the playoffs
Now say it without crying
@334ben10 But Alabama has 2 embarrassing losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma while SMU 2 losses, they lost by a combined total of 6 points
Well put. Even the TV ratings argument is speculative, and easily verified after the games are played.
I'm a Bama fan and I was saying all along that Bama didn't deserve to be in. Not with 3 losses and who two of those losses were against. Utterly embarrassing 😳
As a bama fan, it blows my mind that people think we should go to the playoffs. Like Oklahoma dog walked us
It seems that Alabama has learned all the wrong lessons from being left out.
The softest program is wherever Lincoln Reilly is the HC
Scott going scorched earth with this one 😂
"But we're Bama!" is their whole argument. Pathetic.
You have always been a Bama hater lol. Bama would curb stomp SMPooo
An SEC team crying? No way, I don't believe it 😂
I definitely think Scott and I see College football from the same perspective.
Someone needs to show this to Paul Finebaum, the biggest SEC/Bama lobbyist.
Cancel yaself.
And?
Carson Beck got injured but Georgia got in.
Last year Georgia should have been in before Alabama!!
Honestly Florida should been in!!

Bama fans are just coping with the fact that they aren’t elite rn, but hey, I love savoring their tears 😂
At times, coaches are to blamed too. Incorrect strategies, or just poor planning. It happened to Georgia too.
The school of thought is:
Best teams in NOT most deserving was the standard set last year -> Look at strength of schedule and performance vs total competition -> Look at the SMU VS Alabama mythical point spread -> Because they'd be favored and performed better than SMU would have against the same schedule-> They must be better -> They must be in the playoff.
Alabama is soft and entitled
The King is dead!!!!!!!!!
Well don't have 2 embarrassing losses to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma then
I agree 💯, smu deserved it more, bama thinks they should get in because of what saban built, well saban isnt there no more, so they gotta work for it real hard now!
The worst is that the college football playoffs will have to bend to Alabama and SEC whining. (But I can't be mad at last year's Rose Bowl...the two team with a glorious Pasadena backdrop was a thing of absolute beauty. And it was a great game.)

Get over it, the Quest for 19 Nattys will have to wait next year. Finish strong and focus on winning 10 games for 17 straight years. RTR.
Setting the group of 5 sympathy bid aside, I thought this was about getting the best teams to face off.
thanks for your video
Matches their whole fanbase a bunch of crybabies 😂
I wouldn’t be surprised to hear bama fans say GA should be out and them in now that beck is hurt.
Alabama is the only the 3rd best team in Tennessee. No crying allowed for not making the playoffs
You're 💯 right they do this every year
Alabama non-con is always weak.
GO BLUE
