Claire did deserve more punishment but jailing her for ten years is a bit extreme and the future reform and collaboration of the LaTreia family and the temple knights is far more valuable to Rudeus. I was surprised that Rudeus brought out the mark one during the battle with the knights, the mark two should've been more than enough and would've been seen as Rudeus himself having inhuman strength and not the strength being from magical tools, mind you I'm also surprised his battling gun and battling guns still used the stone cannon spell when both the Hydra and the death god dissolved them with the stone absorption stones, I would've had them use non-magical bullets perhaps propelled by hot gases from fire magic, that is actual guns which Rudeus would've been aware of. Granted, the whole scene was just the plot point of Hitogami manipulating them to reveal their trump cards.
