Thaaaank you I feel like I been the only one on this every year never fails they take out the fun aspects and features from Smackdown shut your mouth to now how many match types have they REMOVED? And the limitations put on usage of weapons and backstage brawl interactions is ridiculous

One of the problems with 2k22 was the rope rebound grappling & running moves. I was really looking to see if the rope rebound grappling was fixed, but I didn't, so let us hope it has been. For running moves from this video it doesn't look too promising, very clunky, very glitchy, ref still gets in the way.
I always have problems with that too. Something about it just doesn't work. Among many other things in these games.
Rope rebounds have been poor since 2k18.
Not sure why it would take so long to fix such a minor problem
Because the ring is kinda small, and the window to tap the button and do a move is even smaller.

I actually enjoy playing against the cpu than online human players, because people just spam and run away; completely killing the fun.. Just play the game, I genuinely appreciate just a good, solid match, that's what WWE 2K has portrayed very well, much better than previous wrestling game series, in my opinion.
You and me, both I would much rather play the AI than humans.

@@sullym1867 i’m just different. I’ve never had more fun online/multiplayer than off-line/solo in any game. I like to have complete control, and I like to have a sense of direction. to me. Online is just exhibition whereas off-line has all the different modes that are more interesting to me. Just like call of duty and games like that, I never play online because it gets boring after a while to just defend or conquer, run and gun frantically and just keep respawning every 10 to 20 seconds.
I don't like that the wrestlers don't really sell injuries like before
That would be cool if there were a role play mode, where you get points for putting on a nice match even if you decide not to kick out
That would be great. If they made mechanics to help you sell or get your opponents move to look and end up being better and getting points for that as well. Honestly that is what wrestling is about. I often look more for the one receiving the move and how they do it. Having a great back and forth match is what makes it great. Maybe thats why I like Fire Pro Wrestling more than WWE.
@@binho2224 yes it’s needs to go back to a serious simulation game. Hey they should just make two games more money for them. Make a wrestling simulator and then just a normal 2k wrestling game.
It would be cool if there's like one reversal that's only available when your opponent hit a finisher while you're both dead tired and it just auto finishes the game with the counter then a pin or something.
The 8-man tag team matches from my faction are impossible to complete in any sort of reasonable time. There will always be at least one person from the other team that is right there ready to break up the pin, which means that those matches can and do last a half-hour to an hour or more. Part of the problem is that your opponent will continue to get out of the ring and attack your teammates over and over and over and over, totally kicking their ass because they literally won't/can't defend themselves. It's so dumb.
2k23 looks great. I hope they improved a lot of the minor things from 2k22, like some of the grappling systems. the 2K games are not perfect but they do try to update and adapt. As well as give up an even better create-a-character, plus fully customizable entrances. Love all of Simon's positive comments on the game and nice to see he got a first-hand experience.
Bargin bin within 4 months. It's 2k, don't expect much from the dev's. Same old shit, different day.
@Simon Miller - I know you probably won't see this, but I am currently going through the worst time of my life. In 1 week been in hospital twice to suicidal tendencies, best friend kicked me out of our home and ended our friendship and now have to change jobs to avoid then pain of seeing her every day.
Your videos have been a MASSIVE help to keeping my mind distracted and motivating me to get to the gym again. I've just hit play and clocked my mind onto them.
Your content and Greg Doucettes content helps so many people. I've still got a long way to go but this is helping heaps and for that I thank you.

I've been saying for years that there needs to be a wrestling game that has a career mode that's ACTUALLY like what a wrestler's career is. You get judged on how good of a match you put on, not just about winning matches. In fact, you should have a booker that tells you if you're supposed to win or lose and then you try to put on a good match while getting the intended result... and if you do a good job, they'll reward you by giving you a push and you'll be booked to win more often and get title matches and stuff. It would be really neat if the mode worked that way.

They gotta keep kayfabe a minimum (look how Rey Mysterio was describing his scripted matches in his showcase mode last year as if he had any say in the outcome )

They havent even added something as simple as new nicknames i needa c the creation take a major upgrade they take away more feats then they add every game
Man, it still has that lockup hold thing before every move. It sucks it just make sequences less smooth especially if you're playing as a cruiserweight
If you do your light or heavy grapple quickly, like pressing a then b in quick succession it skips the lockup and just does the move, if done correctly it makes it feel very seamless
@@bradyogden8308 2019 had the perfect system with the mix of strong, normal, and lockup holds grapple. not sure why 2k changed that for 2k instead of improving upon it is it because HCTP and No Mercy had the same grapple system? it worked for those because of the arcadey and impactful moves plus the artstyle, but with 2k23's realistic graphics having grapple system like that seems off plus dunno why they prioritized strikes combo like its Tekken

I was in Manchester and I saw Simon wrestle at sov pro wrestling for the title , despite the outcome the performance by Simon was incredible, if you don’t know about SOV pro wrestling get yourself to Manchester and watch a show

Wow! That comment says it all!! He plays every year, but he had to go into the menu to remind himself how to play. That shows just how awkward this game is. It’s not pick up and play. And that puts many people off.
2k19s style should've been the foundation they built upon
@@shadowsimarchitect9679 Noooo absolutely not. 2k19 was simpler but it was so slow and awkward. I hate how you can’t chain moves together in that game. You do a move, then your character pauses, then you do your next move. It’s so jank
@@shweeniemccocko2177 2K22 feels like a cluster to me. It just seems like all go. 2K19 had supreme selling. In 2K19 if I do Cruiserweight vs heavyweight. I can pretty much squash the cruiserweight regardless of if it's an actually squash match with pretty good weight detection such as clotheslines not bringing down bigger opponents. In 2K22 I do Omos vs Tazawa, and Tozawas doing all sorts of stuff that he shouldnt be doing to Omos. Also if I want to be Kurt Angle, or Bryan Danielson I cant start the match off with tie ups taken to a stale mate. The game wont let me just pull off a move unless I figure out which combo goes along with it which is going to require pausing the game 400 times. Not to mention if you happen to be a Universe guy , and play with a significant number of different wrestlers that's going to be a pain. I'm trying to have tv matches. If I wanted to play an arcade wrestling game I'd just play the old Smackdown games, All Stars or Battlegrounds. I'll probably get it, but I know I'm just going to get disappointed by the gameplay again, and go back to 2K19. Not saying there isnt any plus side for me to get this game. The Universe changes, and WarGames are 2 features I've wanted for years now but for me personally its the whole 2 steps forward, and 1 step back thing.

@@shadowsimarchitect9679 I think these 2K22 fans just play exhibition and showcase. Universe Mode and CAWs are broken since 2K20 and 2K refuses to fix all the problems to prevent crashes. Had 1000 hours in 2k19 Universe Mode, 0 crashes.
wat needs improvement is royal rumble tag teams and allies should work together
One thing I would change because I have noticed it in every video. Once wargames officially starts the match ends because everyone's to beaten up. What I would do specifically for this match is change the damage so it decreases much slower until everyone is in then the official match plays longer
Start developing you got this 👍🏽
You can do this by seting the health (Low, Medium or High) before you start the match
Also you could lower the times in between them coming in to 30 seconds.
Lower the amount of momentum gained from moves, this will cause a slower build-up of signatures and finishers.

I have given up on the games since 2K19, I got 2K20 and 2K22 for shits and giggles but I’m over them, unless they get back to the old SVR days, if not exactly, then very close to it
They’ll never do that, everyone will complain about how unrealistic the game is

@@jasonsmith530 It’s called WWE 12, The games for 2012 and 13 is just called WWE ’12 and WWE ‘13….. The final SVR game was SVR 2011, and after WWE ‘13, was WWE 2K14, the first game developed by 2K interactive

I have not played a WWF game since the Super Nintendo era, back when it was still WWF! I'm not into the modern pro wresting stuff (haven't been for decades), but this looks really cool. Would love to see more video game content from Simon. As someone who's both into fitness and a gamer geek, I love this.

I bought 2k22 like 2 weeks ago and LOVE how I can download created content of all the Attitude/ECW/WCW roster.... but I've had some SUPER glitches lol. In a cage match I was stuck between the cage and the ropes and even got out of the ring but couldn't win. And i put someone thru the announcers table and wound up in the crowd dam near out of the building

It's more of a update to last year's game 2k22. I'm going to wait for a sale, cause it wasn't long that 2k22 was on sale and I paid for the deluxe edition. I really hope universe mode is sorted out.

I'd like to start seeing wrestling games that aren't simulated fighting games but instead you're basically calling the match in the ring and your goal is to entertain the crowd. Each crowd can have different preferences and you have to figure it out. You can create feuds between characters and try to figure out the right time for the payoff. Controls are about doing the moves properly. If you screw it up you can botch the move and possibly hurt your opponent which would have backstage consequences or you end up getting a receipt later on. You can have a career mode where you start as a jobber and work your way up to a headliner.
Looks unnatural to lockup grapple before irish whip. I was hoping they would change that lol
In 2k22 the only way to avoid the initial grapple was to use the combo system for moves. The best way to do Irish whip was to initial grapple from behind and then Irish whip.
They do a waste lock, but when you Irish whip they'll perform a forearm to the back 1st.
What is with the white ashy fog filter in this game? They did something the lighting that washes out the colors in this one.
The ring doesn’t bounce… that’s what throws me off…. No bounce = boring impact
I know a lot of people disliked it but I wish they would put limited reversals back in. Just make it an option to turn on and off. I loved the extra layer of strategy it added. Deciding if you should reverse or save the charges because your opponent has their special or finisher. Also the stamina. Like not being able to hit a finisher with your bar too low. Or collapsing after the finisher because it took all you had. Little touches that made it feel so fun to me. Then just as fast as they added it they took it back out
I guess people were complaining about the limited reversals. I enjoyed it, and like you said, just give us the option to turn if off like before.
@@trashdakid3682 exactly. I liked that it kept matches from going on and on. Not as bad against the computer but when playing a friend who can reverse really well it's just back and forth forever lol
They did have the option to turn the reversal limit off so idk they just completely took the feature out the game, I also liked it

You can literally win matches on the hardest difficulty while using the controller with one hand. They need to change the entire engine.
They should make a wrestling game, put out a few yearly upgrades, then maybe a new game…not a yearly 60$ plus for practically the same game..but of course that would make them less $$ lol I can understand madden, players retire, new draft classes, players switch teams…

I don't care for the gameplay (if it's the same as 2K22), which is weirdly the ONE thing that most reviews LEAVE OUT. Simon spoke the most about it that I've seen so far.
I wish someone would address the elephant in the room which is the completely broken weapon mechanic that ruined any TLC, Weapons Match, or use of any weapon period. It was nearly impossible to set something up without it being knocked down, and swinging weapons was just such a struggle, and when you connected it was such an unsatisfying connection.
Question so did they fix that damn online server feature!? With 2K22, from release date to today, every time I go to community creations, it’s a 50/50 chance that the server will work and a 50/50 chance that the server will crash.
There’s a TTRPG that’s all about putting on good matches over wins and losses. I agree it would be cool for a mode more like that.

I’m not gonna be a liar, I’m buying 2k23 this year but this game SUCKS . The improvements are so pointless. Let me just add some points if you are from 2k or know anyone with 2k please share this.
. Fix Irish whips, chain wrestling, tired finishers , bring back match types , fix the undertakers Royal rumble win animation, fix universe mode, fix my rise mode. Fix the camera angles , basically I would do this copy wwe 2k14, svr 2007-11, HCTP, no mercy , and build on that the areas you can fight , the good stories and dialogue, the crazy ass moments in matches , when you do a finisher on a 1v1 match they need to have a cool cutscene like the older games so the finishers feel impactful, fix the crowd as well let’s actually make the crowd look alive , the commentators are weak. This game is BAD BUTTTT THE GOOD THINGS they have some fun moments with friend that’s all I can say

But the elephant in the room is the trash online servers. It's so bad that it's not worth your time investing in this game. It's obvious that they can't connect more than 2 people in a match. Always getting disconnected or the game just freeze. Single matches is ok, but anything else is unplayable. Me and my buddy used to have fun with tag matches against others. But it's been unplayable since 2k18.
18 on switch, and 20 were horrible.... 19, and 22 were decent
